Designers at the store are very inexperienced and make many mistakes. I would recommend not going to the store to avoid major headaches and a possible stroke. Countertops that were ordered for the wrong size and should've been caught by the designer before sending to the counter top producer. Do your homework and find a cabinet designer that is at least above a 4.6 or you will regret it. I've been at this for four months and it should've been completed already.Good luck and do your homework. Ratings online will support my complaint. read more

We are remodeling our old bathroom and need a 60 inch wide double sink quick (don't want to wait for manufacturer delivered to Lowe's or Home Depot since they don't have the ones we want on stock) and was referred to check out home surplus and their showroom. We came to home surplus on a Saturday morning and they had a few people walking around the showroom which is a bit messy and dirty. I can't help but to notice all of the staff was just sitting behind the counter. They seriously need some customer service training. No staff bothers to ask if anyone needs help. They don't even look at their customers. I came up to the counter and asked for some help. A man reluctantly came over and I specifically asked if they had other types or countertops besides granite and he says whatever is on the showroom and that's it. Thanks so much for not really answer my question! What if I missed a certain material in the showroom? Anyhoo, we saw a gray countertop (granite of course) that we liked and so I asked the same staff how much does the item weighs so my husband and I can perhaps take it with our pickup truck. He said about 175 pounds because the granite countertop includes the porcelain sink and drawers (all installed permanently together in a package) and so we decided to come back later with my brother. Upon purchase, please check your goods. They have the items on stock in the warehouse and their guys will open up the boxes for you to take a quick look. Once you take the items, you are responsible for any nicks, scratches and dents ...all damage, really. After scanning your goods, they will rewrap the items in the box and help loaded in the vehicle. I asked for some tie ropes and to learn they don't have any because of liability issues. Really? I didn't expect this!!! I spent a lot money on this purchase and they can't give me anything to secure the item. I asked where then can I get rope because we need to drive this on a highway with our pickup truck tail laying down. We drove slowly two miles to a Home Depot to get the tie ropes. Overall, our experience is not great dealing with these people but luckily we got the item we wanted and brought it home in one piece. Hopefully, we will never have to go back here again. Would I recommend this place? I'm not sure as it depends on your situation of urgency and whether you can purchase the item off their warehouse so you don't have to deal with them on delivery. I'd give 4 stars for the items purchased. It would be 5 stars but they are pricey and they charged tax when it's for home improvement. Zero stars for service so I average 2 stars rating. read more

I honestly can not believe an established business could treat good customers as they did me. Spent over $6000 on kitchen and bathrooms cabinets. They have started to not line up, don't close correctly. There are so many chips and scratches on them. I have no children to do this, they are just so badly made. They refused to look at them and contact the manufacturer. My construction is only two years old and feels and looks if I had it done 15-20years ago. OK. I ordered a couple doors, they are the only ones with the kind I need in stock. I emailed and got a quick response which was great. I was told one size door was 89 the other 99. I ordered them online that night. I was in the area so went by to get them. I walked in and a young lady asked if she could help me. She wasn't terribly friendly, and said the order didn't come thru, the phone rang, she walked away answered it another desk and continued to have a conversation with that person, taking an order while I was just standing there with no answer. Then she told the other guy she had to pee really bad and left. Well, they rang me out, but now the one door jumped in price to 99, two different size door, same price, one smaller door in a matter of 12 hours jumped $10 in price. Because of the current COVID situation I didn't feel like arguing and left with my doors. The guy loading was nice, helped me get them in my truck. So overall, service was ok and I wasn't thrilled about the price jumping like that, especially when I had an order that had them sold to me at $10 less. Not sure I'd make a return trip because of that, I got better service at Home Depot amazingly. read more

I ordered four 20 inch primed doors. I needed these specific sized doors because other companies were out of stock FYI. Ordered other sized doors from Wayfair and Build.com. No issues,,,great customer service One of the 20 inch doors was messed up. It was obvious that HomeSurplus found this door in the garbage pile. The primed paint was yellowed and door was uneven. My carpenter had to fix their crappy workmanship....cost me a half day's labor CHAIM was insulting in his emails. ALEKS Mendes promised that she would get back to me. So far...crickets. Ok where do I begin. If I could give negative stars I would. Worst service I have ever had!!!! Ordered interior doors (nothing fancy, just plain basic Roman arch) back in October 2021 and received them a few days ago. We were told several times that they were shipped starting earlier this year but never actually received them. Then we asked to have the shipment expedited because I am 9 months pregnant and we need doors in the house. They said we would receive the doors on Friday but we didn't get them till the following Monday. They constantly ignored my husband. Rarely responded to emails, never answered the phone. To top it all off, the doors did NOT come prehung as they were supposed to be, they also came with silver hardware when we had ordered brass. The hinges were all aligned incorrectly. Looks like a child put the hinges on these doors. We have to pay someone to come and adjust everything. We've had two separate contractors tell us they have never seems doors this terrible before with this much unfinished work on it. Pretty much, these doors are completely wrong. If we knew, we would've ordered from Wayfair or somewhere else. I have never experienced so much stress and anxiety like this company has caused me. My husband sent an email with the issues once we received the doors and we are yet to hear from them but we aren't surprised as they are all so rude and don't have any customer service. Ordered a prehung Single panel glass door for my laundry room. The workmanship was terrible. Every hinge was mortised so bad that they all needed to be adjusted by me contractor. The ball catch also needed repair. All this extra work cost me an additional $150.00 to the contractor. I reached out via their contact us tab on their website and never heard back. I reached out by phone and spoke with a salesman who indicated he would pass my information on to a supervisor. It's been weeks and I still haven't heard back. I went there to buy a double sink vanity. Walked around and looked at their selection. I had a question about transporting the 72" carerra marble top home. So, i asked the guy with the white hair at first desk who was not with a customer at his desk, but was looking at his screen. He looked up at me like i was pulling him from his lunchbreak. I found this place through the internet and I was surprised at their prices and selection. At first I didn't want to go because I didn't understand how places like this exist when Home Depot is down the block. However they had a huge selection of doors, vanities and kitchens. I sat with Carrie for a kitchen design and she was extremely knowledgeable and helped us design and pick out our kitchen. I think I saved more that $2,500 from my other competing quote and this was a solid wood product. I look forward to doing some other projects with Home Surplus in the near future. read more

I've never written a negative review in my life, but I'm so turned off by my interaction with this company, that I felt obligated to. What started as a friendly in-person interaction has led to a month of inconsistency. No return of calls or emails when I kindly and simply stated "if you don't have this item in stock, we will have to go somewhere else, as we are on a time crunch." When I realized my email wasn't going to be answered, again, I called and was told "we know what you're calling for and will get back to you after we finish with this customer." This service I got was slow communication, Extreme delay in paperwork and above all else horrendous customer service! My first experience in the store the male manager was walking away for me when I was trying to ask him questions about his product. Quite rude to start off! The product looked decent enough that I was willing to pay that amount of money and come from out of state to pick up the product. In arranging for pick up is where all the breakdown happened! Searching for someone to help with our design and our kitchen renovations is a pain- especially when looking for quality and price. We went to 4 different places and no luck. We decided to go to Home Surplus where we got our bathroom vanity a few years ago. Michael was our kitchen designer and he understood exactly what we wanted and didn't give us excuses about how are our smaller than a 10 x 10 kitchen can't fit the things that wanted. We bought our bathroom vanity there a few years ago are very pleased with the quality we plan on purchasing our granite countertops for the kitchen from there as well. The guys are horrible at delivery and very rude. You may get a deal but loose your dignity if you want to work these guys. I do not know if my r*** or accent was not helping the conversation. When we walked in with measurements, the front desk guys was irritated with us because my contractor did not give him what he wanted. Because I had a customer support job and an educated engineer, I engaged him beyond to find out what he was looking for. I gave what they looked for and placed the order. One week later, they called me saying the order cannot be fulfilled because I did not give which side the door hinge would be for certain cabinets. After pressing hard, their boss called and told that they are backed up and pushed the delivery by another week and half. And, the day before the delivery, they call again saying I can only come at this time if not you have to wait another three days. It is disgusting to work with these guys read more

I ordered my door on the Home Surplus online store, on Friday 10-26-18 and needed it for Monday 10-29-18. My contractor went to pick the door up on Monday and the rude woman at the desk said that there was no such order. I then called and Alicia answered and I was told she will find out what happened, then call me back. Well 1 1/2 hrs later I called her and again she said she will get to the bottom of this. Alicia did call back; she then began to tell me that the person that does the online orders leaves on Friday at 5 and doesn't return until Monday at 10am(even though my computer order says the order was placed at 3pm on Friday) and my order was never entered into their computer. Alicia said that she would make sure the order was entered and call me back about when the door can be picked up. Again no phone call, so I called and was told a door takes 3-5 business days to be done by someone other than Alicia. No where on the website does it state that, I asked for a manager. Spoke to Steven, said he spoke to Alicia, knew what was going on, that I was right that the website doesn't state 3-5 days, that he will make sure to fix the website, and he pushed my order up, "priority" everything was approved and that the door was done. I thanked him and Steven said my contractor could pick up the door today,10-29-18, just ask for Steven. Also if my contractor couldn't get there to pick up the door that day, and had to pick up the next day between 8-4:30pm, ask if Steven is in so he could apologize. Well the next day 10-30-18 my contractor went to pick up my door and was told that it wasn't paid for and he couldn't leave with it. I called Home Surplus when I was told this by my contractor. The woman on the phone was rude again, so I demanded to speak to Steven. I hung up to try to collect myself, it was 8:45 am. A gentleman answered and when I requested to speak with Steven was told he doesn't get in until 9am and that his phone was turned off and couldn't be reached. I then asked for Alicia; she stated that the door wasn't paid for in their system. I have an order in my hand that says paid and in stock but its NOT in their system. Well, first whoever inputs their online orders should be fired, and yesterday everything was fine and my contractor could pick up the door, as per Steven, but today its not paid for and can't be picked up. I offered to provide my credit card and was told if its paid for why would I want to put it on my credit card again by Alicia. She then said I should wait till Steven gets in to speak to him. Steven did call me and then began to say he didn't remember our conversation, and if I wanted the door I had to pay for it. I provided my credit card was approved and finally the door was able to be picked up by my contractor. I have never seen such horrific customer service. One hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing. This is seen by the terrible leadership in that store. This is not a way to run any business except if you want to loose it. I'm a social worker and deal with a diverse population of people and rarely ever get angry. But the incompetence in that store has tested my patience. I wish I could let the owner of Home Surplus know about the people that were hired for that store. read more
