Greg Schick and his team were incredible! We have a rental unit in Springfield, and right after our tenant moved in, there was a sewer backup in the basement. We found Home Service Pros via ChatGPT. They came out within 1 hour and found that we needed additional tools to find the problem. After getting 7 quotes to replace a 26 year old gas direct vent hot water heater I made the decision to go with Trade Pros. I was looking for a specific unit that qualified for a federal rebate for efficiency. Brittney was super helpful and responsive and spent considerable time looking for the right water heater. In the end, after both her and my research there wasn't an affordable water heater that met my needs that qualified. Michael did a great job at fixing our shower problem. He explained the problem and walked me through each step of how he was going to resolve what was going on. His communication is top notch. He also showed up when he said to be expected, which is not always the case with people doing work at your house. The only complaint that I have is that I feel like I was overcharged for the work that was done. While I am not a plumber and I don't have the experience that Michael or other vendors would have, the work that was done did not take very long, and I was charged a lot of money for it. At points like this a consumer feels that they being are taking advantage of. Realizing that the work did not take as long as originally projected by Michael, he did provide a discount off the initial quote. Still the total work that was done took about 20 minutes in total and cost $500. After learning what needed to be done, and being somewhat handy myself, if the problem occurred again, I would simply fix it myself versus calling someone to do it for me for $500. read more

Not sure how a business like this has a five stars to be honest... This was in reference to a water heater that kept tripping the circuit breaker. I initially received their information from a friend who recommended them. I had them come out and take a look at the water heater and diagnose what was going on. This was a water heater that was approximately one year and one month old. Eduardo was the one who came out and looked at the unit. He provided an estimate to fix the issue, which what which he determine was from a leak that was coming from the hot water line. The first estimate was right around $600 being that I considered an emergency I went ahead and asked him to to fix it. Bear in mind that there was no visible water from the point where he determined there was a leak. He proceeded to making the repair. I think total it took him about an hour. After the repair, I was told that the unit was fixed and he left. A few hours later, the circuit breaker tripped again. I contacted the company back and this time I was provided two additional quotes of alternate solutions. One of these quotes was in the thousand dollar range the other was a few hundred. So after paying 600 this will be in addition to that. Unfortunately, total cost would have been close to three times the cost of the water heater. I contacted the company and let them know that the diagnosis and repair did not resolve the issue. They try to tell me that there were additional repairs that I did not make that could be the issue. The repairs that they mentioned that I did not accept weren't even on the second and third quote. So out of four quotes I received. I'm wasn't sure which one was supposed to be the solution (they asked me to select the one I wanted to go with) and I don't think they knew either. I did end up, contacting the water heater manufacture, expressing my concern about a one year old heater, needing two new heating elements and two new thermostats (from trade pro quotes) I communicated to them regarding the cost that was quoted to me, and they stated to me that the quote was significantly higher than the their standard agreed-upon labor that they typically allow for a warranty repair. They told me that I should go through an authorized repair company so that the labor would be predefined by the contract that the manufacture has with them. Needless to say the price was significantly different between there's certified repair companies and this company here. Trade Pros continued to say no there was nothing they could other than to proceed with one of the two proposed solutions. I chose not to play this guessing game and be out of potentially thousands of dollars. I contacted my friend who is a real estate agent and he referred me to a plumber who works for him. The plumber came out took a look at the water heater (no cost as a favor) and determined that the proposed solutions we're NOT likely the issue. He told me if I wanted to he could make those recommended repairs (by trade pros) at 1/3 their cost but he didn't believe it would fix the issue. I told him, I just wanted it fixed. So he said, he would try what he thought it was then if that didn't fix the issue he would credit that amount to what trade pros recommend. He tried it and fixed it. In turn, the issue was related to the wiring; which he fixed for less than $100. I had to buy the material which was less then $40 but happy to do so at that price! Hope this helps you in making a decision for the right person to service your plumbing needs. read more

2 stars to account for the timeliness of the gentleman who came to do the estimate. It goes downhill from there. I absolutely cannot reasonably account for why the estimate I got from this business was 2.5x all the other estimates. I requested an estimate for a main drain pipe replacement to include work on the bathtub drain, toilet flange and the garbage disposal. It's not a small job. I had four (4) estimates that ranged from 4,400 to 4,800. Three of the four businesses even got me that estimate within 24 hours (two gave me their estimate on site). After calling to see where their estimate was, I get an estimate via email for $10,200. I'm not a plumber, but this seems unprofessional to the point of illegal. Four other businesses I found via Yelp- with similar positive reviews- managed to independently give me similar prices. Edit: 2 stars down to 1 after reading Brittany's backhanded snark to my honest review. I personally saw the licenses so her argument is moot. By the way, the permits were only $300. Where is the other $4500+ her techs added that no one else did? I'm happy with the work, thanks. I also didn't have to track any other businesses down for my FREE estimate. This rating is solely based off a diagnostic visit. I want to highlight that Yelp highlights this business as Woman Owned and Woman Operated but it was two older gentleman that came to my home. In case this matters to anyone. Additionally, they had a very strong smell of stale cigarettes that lingered after their departure. A diagnostic fee was 189. They identified a few issues. Replacing the thermostats on my water heater would have been 325 and replacing a pipe would have been a separate charge of 429. I was able to find another reputable service company (that had more reviews) who were able to do it for cheaper, provide military discount and the same day service. I'm sure their service is great here but their prices are a little steep. And with the diagnostic being $189, it can make a consumer feel a little intimidated into proceeding forth with the repair. Additionally, the 189 isn't waived or applied to the service if you book the same day as other companies do. That being said, they were friendly and prompt with their response. read more

For many years, I had my go to plumber. He was the person I would call whenever I needed anything because I always knew he would be responsive and do quality work. Since he is now retired, I have been looking for my new go to person. I have found him at trade pros. Justin at trade pros is fantastic. He has done three projects for me at a rental property I own. I am very happy with his work. He does quality work and takes a great deal of pride in his craft. He is also personable and is good to work with. Plus, he is a veteran and I always try to support that community. The only downside is their price. They are expensive, but I guess all plumbers are. I do not mind paying a bit of a premium for quality work and a responsive contractor who is good to work with. read more
