High Price, very rude…read more Hawk Security took over a few years ago when they bought out our old company. They demanded we "upgrade" just to keep the service, and jacked up the price by 78% from the old rate. We put up with this until this month, then found several companies with much better deals and service reputations. When I called Hawk they did not offer to match the lower rates, but insulted me instead and told me I had to pay in advance for June PLUS they would not cancel service for 30 days. I don't usually post reviews but you need to stay away from these guys, they are ALL about money and can't be bothered to even try to be polite.

Holy Cow! You may want to think twice about using this company! I hired them to do a simple job. I…read moreneeded two Cat5 drops installed at my home and to mount two wireless access points. It turned out to be a fiasco! (It started on a Wednesday) He ran the drops but did not understand the instructions for using the Aruba wireless/ HPe access point mounting kits (part number: AP-220-MNT-W2W). In the process, he cut up and damaged one of the mounts as well as made over 8 screw holes in my ceiling. When he was "complete" he quickly took my check and left. Within the first hour of his departure, the AP's received power via POE, but no data. I immediately called and texted him about the issue. He assured me that he was currently going to his next job, but would return the following day (Thursday). The next morning, I texted him at around 8:30 am to confirm he would return that day to correct the cabling issues. I received a reply, that he was indeed planning on returning that day to fix things. At 2:22 pm, I once again texted him to see what the ETA was on returning. His reply was that he was finishing up a job and would text me when he was on the way. At 6:33 pm, I received no calls or texts, so I once again texted him to see if he was indeed still coming. The reply was "I'm heading to pull footage for the cops", whatever that means..... After that text, I never received a call or text again. Fast forward to Sunday, where I had to hire another cabler to come in and fix this guys shotty work. In short, he made several unnecessary holes in my ceiling, cut up and damaged an AP mount kit, and literally mis-wired the RJ-45 end connectors. He literally flipped the pinouts from left to right. In short, clearly, this guy is a jack-leg who doesn't know what he is doing with regards to Cat5 drops, RJ-45, Ethernet, and keystone connectors. He tried to take the "money and run", so I had to put a stop payment on the check.

Successfully filed for default judgment. Reached out early November in hopes of getting paid something. He promises to write a check but doesn't say how much it's for. A month goes by and no check. His response was "I thought you had received it". Yeah right. Then he says he will drop it off at my house that day. Again no check. Now he's saying he didn't mail it because I wrote a bad review and if I want any money at all I have to delete the review. Wonder how many other people he's pulled this with? This man has not kept his word to me so many times I'm losing count.

They listened carefully to my concern areas, and came up with a combination camera & security system that addressed them. They also installed a home theater system in our family room. My comments are identical for all three pieces of work. Similar to Wesley's comment below, at NO point was there any attempt to up sell or push for additional equipment or services that I did not need, on the contrary, they very respectfully pointed out concerns or ideas that were "overkill" and actually reduced scope in some areas. Install was extremely professional, with an extreme attention to detail. The quality of the finished product and the extreme care to a "clean" installation (hidden wires, etc.) was exceptional. They made sure that I understood operation of all equipment and that all my questions were addressed. And equally (perhaps more) importantly, post install consultation, additional service, repairs to equipment damaged by other contractors (Harvey rebuild), and help with changes in Internet Service has been extraordinary. Their prices are more than fair, for equipment and for install labor, and their monitoring prices are generally better that the big names. We have had a few alarm events (thankfully all false) and their response time beats experience I have had with two other big name providers. Lastly, I should point out that the above relates to our principal residence. In addition to this, they also provided camera monitoring equipment and security system monitoring services for the house we had to rent while ours was being rebuilt post-Harvey. I mention this only to show that they have done a fairly significant amount of work with me over the past year or so. I would highly recommend them for any of the services they provide.
