Excellent place to buy skates, regardless of your level, age, etc.. The staff is very attentive and makes sure you get the right fit for your needs. As a novice, I had a lot of questions which they answered thoroughly. They will not overcharge you, but they also don't sell low-quality skates, so be prepared to spend a bit. Anything you or your child would need equipment and clothing wise Home ice has. It's our favorite skate shop! If Aisslinn can't fix a skate, blade or sharpening problem no one can! Aisslinn and her shop are fantastic! She understands what skaters need at all levels and all ages. She is a wizard when it comes to skates. My 9 year old daughter is a competitive skater and calls Aisslinn her skate doctor! She's very genuine, an outstanding technician, master in her craft, personable, always nice and friendly. I booked a skate fitting at Home Ice based on the really great reviews and I'm glad I did! Aislinn was awesome! She listened to my past experience and frankly went over the options and recommended some different choices. She knew her stuff and I felt like she was really listening to me and the feedback I was giving about everything I tried on, and she wasn't afraid to tell me the weaknesses in some of the options. She's also just really nice and fun to talk to and it's clear she has a passion for skating and for helping people have good experiences with skating. In the end, I bought a pair of skates and she sharpened them for me and put together the hard guards I had chosen. Aislinn is very helpful and patient. Our whole family purchased figure skates and she was particularly patient with my husband's boots, that needed a huge amount of adjustments to fit right. This is where I get my figure skates sharpened, and I also know a lot of people who have bought skates here. The manager is very knowledgeable and helpful. Skating supplies are never cheap, but the prices here are reasonable...I don't think you'd find the same skates cheaper anywhere else, and it's definitely important to go to a good place to make sure you are fitted properly and get the right skates for what you want to do. I just started picking up skating but know that I want to at least get good enough to do an axel. I've been trying to find good skates that fit me but I guess my feet are a bit oddly shaped because it's been such a nightmare. Enter Skaters Landing. The woman who helped me was AWESOME. She asked me a lot of questions to get a sense of whether or not the boots I tried on were a good fit and she was very attuned to my reaction trying on each boot. We went through all the beginner models, used models, and as I was starting to feel a bit hopeless/wondering if painful feet are something I'll have to accept, she pulled out the Risports which felt like Uggs. Since they are the priciest out of all the ones I tried, she wanted me to make sure these were "the one" and told me to take my time walking around making sure I loved them. I really felt like she truly wanted me to have the skates that were the best for me, not the skates that were gonna be the best for her bottom line. Oh yeah, and she assisted me all the while tending to other skaters and didn't seem to make anyone feel neglected. She's just super friendly and she was a former skater so she knows her stuff! As a newbie on the ice, I'm SO glad I came here because I had no idea what I was looking for and the last thing I wanted was someone snaking me into a purchase that was more out of their interest not mine. I've been to a few other skate shops and left because of that shady feeling. Will definitely be coming here exclusively for all my future skating needs!! read more

Can't recommend this shop highly enough! It's contained within the Skating Club, so that's the building you want to look out for. I will be taking skating classes for the first time and my mother dug out her old (50+ years!) but barely worn skates and gave them to me. I brought them to the shop to ask if it's actually feasible for me to skate with them and, if it is, to get them sharpened. I love a shop that very clearly explains the pros and cons of each decision and doesn't push you into making a purchase. They explained that if I decide to go beyond my first few sessions of lessons, I'll likely want the support offered by new boots (and pulled down boots from their shelves to show me the difference in ankle structure and support), but for now there's no reason I shouldn't be able to use them, pointing out that my ankles don't lean in when I lace into them. They sharpened my skates for me quickly while I waited and I bought soft guards. Now my hand-me-down skates are all set for my classes! Needless to say, if I decide to continue with skating, there's nowhere else I'll go to purchase skates. read more

Can't say enough good about this shop! Aislinn is friendly, knowledgeable and takes her time with each customer making sure you know all of your options. She also gave me a fantastic deal on my skates right upfront - no haggling or shopping around required (I still haven't seen a better price for the boots I got, in person or online). And if you buy boots there, they'll take care of all the follow up services - heat molding, punch outs, etc. I've had a few little tweaks done, all quick and efficient and at no additional cost, and my boots fit great! Keep in mind before you go - it's a small shop, and their services are in very high demand, so appointments are required for pretty much all services. But the appointment system on their website is quick and intuitive, and I've never had trouble making an appointment and getting in and out quickly and efficiently. read more

What a fantastic place! The owner patiently worked with me for over an hour to stretch my very old figure skates and get them comfortable for me to wear again, even while the store was getting very crowded on a Saturday. I think she and I could both see that I'll probably be better off with a new pair eventually, but she didn't pressure me or upsell me. The owner is very knowledgeable about figure skate skate boots, blades, and adjustments, and has a really interesting back story. I felt extremely well taken care of while here. FYI this store seems to focus exclusively on figure skates. I don't believe this is where you go for hockey supplies. When I'm ready for the new pair, I'll know where to go! read more

I went here to get my skates after returning to the ice after 10 years! The staff here are incredible and listened to my concerns/complaints and helped me find the perfect skates. The week after, I had to drag my boyfriend since he was joining me. They fit him in last minute and helped him find his skates. I was so grateful that I went to Home Ice. I was planning to just look around and ask some questions... and like the two beautiful ladies who helped me out said, "it was my day" - I got myself a pair of gently used Jackson skates at a really decent price! As an older adult who is returning to ice skating as a great form of exercise, I needed a new pair skates, but didn't want a product from a generic sporting goods store. Home Ice and its' owner Aislinn were great- very knowledgeable, professional, polite and did not try to sell me more expensive skates than I needed. And because Home Ice works on an appointment system, I had Aislinn's full attention for a good half hour. She measured my feet, showed me a pair of skates and explained why she would recommend them, had me try an initial fitting, heated them to mold to my fee and had me try them again. Perfect fit. I have wide feet, and I have been struggling for years to find skates that will work for me at all. After a horrible experience at another skate shop, I decided to try Skater's Landing before giving up. Buck, the proprietor, is truly a master. He was able to look at my feet, really *listen* to the problems I was having, and figure out what was going on. Less expensive skate models aren't available in wide widths, but rather than trying to sell me new expensive skates, he was determined to try to make the low-end ones I already own work for me -- and he did! As someone who only expects to skate occasionally and recreationally, I really appreciated his efforts to keep my costs down, though in truth, the work he did for me would have been a bargain at three times the price. In addition, the higher-end models that come in wide widths, which the other shop tried to sell me, aren't really suitable for the kind of skating I intend to do, so they might have actually been a worse choice for me. This place is great! Marion spent about 30 minutes heat molding and punching out my new Reidell skates so that I'd be comfortable in my adult beginner lessons. When you go, plan to take your time, because you'll want to take advantage of her expertise! She's just one woman, but she was simultaneously helping multiple people-- adjusting boots, sharpening blades, and giving advice-- while she helped me. Your patience will be rewarded. The lady that owns the place is great, and is knowledgeable about all things skating and she sure knows how make skates fit better. she really cares about people, works hard, and is always in a good mood. It has limited hours so its always good to call ahead just to make sure it is open. More people need to know about this wonderful skate shop! I needed a good pair of figure skates that suited my skating level and someone recommended me to go to this shop, so I set up an appointment on the Home Ice website. When I got to the store, Aislinn, the owner, carefully measured my feet and helped me chose a suitable pair of skates. She had me try on a few different pairs and also explained the fitting process to me and answered all of my questions. The skates that I chose had to be ordered in, so I paid for the skates and then Aislinn took my contact info. The skates took about a week to arrive due to a winter storm, but Aislinn made sure to touch base a few times to let me know that the skates were on the way. On my second visit, Aislinn had my new skates heat molded and then punched out a few areas that were bothering me, making sure that the skates fit properly and were as comfortable as possible before the break-in period. Finally, she sharpened the skates. She treated me with care and did not try to rush me or sell me additional things like some skate shops do. All in all, I must say that I was impressed. Aislinn handled the shop well and made sure that none of the customers were feeling neglected. She treated the other customers and me professionally and with a smile. And her wonderful service and expertise didn't cost me an extra penny! I must admit that the skates were expensive, but the skates would have costed me the same on Amazon, some other online store, or a sports goods store (yes, I checked :)). In fact, they ended up costing me less at Home Ice because I got a 10% student discount (yay!!! :D). So think twice before buying expensive skates without getting fitted by a professional. Skates that don't fit right make skating a nightmare and once you've used them you can't return them. I love my new skates!!!!! I'm happy I decided to go to Home Ice instead of buying skates online. I brought my daughter here for her first pair of skates and was extremely satisfied both with the quality of the products and the level of service. Skate fittings are by appointment only, but you get Aislinn's undivided attention, which is great. I was looking for a pair of used beginner skates to avoid paying too much for a pair that's going to be outgrown in a few months anyway, and not only did Aislinn find us the perfect skates, but she didn't even try to upsell or otherwise pressure us into buying something we didn't need. I was so impressed with their service! I called on Friday to see if I could get five pairs of figure skates sharpened. The woman at the store welcomed me to the store anytime that afternoon. When I got there, she asked me about my skating needs and even went as far to adjust a pair of skates for me to make them more comfortable (she could have sold me a new pair, but with the adjustment it was not needed). I bought a pair of figure skates here, and I was pretty much satisfied with that itself. But a few days later when I took them out of the box for the first time, I noticed there was a little crack on one of the blades. So I brought them to the shop and explained, but she didn't try to listen as if to say "I know you, you did it already, huh?" and she charged me another $20 for sharpening the blades I had never landed on.
