I had to give a 1 star rating in order for this review to post BUT if I could give a negative star…read morerating I definitely would!! I have struggled with Lily and her crew for a few years now. I have a cleaning service because my son and I have serious allergies. After each cleaning I have found areas that were not even touched and sometimes something broken that was not brought to my attention - just left for me to find...mini blinds, figurines, vacuum, console for security system, etc. I understand accidents happen - but not to bring it to my attention before they leave is upsetting and frustrating. And when I did speak with Lily about these issues and she had spoken to the crew that worked that day, they denied it. If considering this company for service - I strongly suggest you keep looking.

When I called to schedule, they estimated 2-3 hours (with a range in price) and this is right in the middle of that range. Overall, they did a pretty decent job. I am satisfied with the cleaning service provided. Everything looks very clean, and I have 2 pets, so it was quite dirty going in. Thanks! They didn't get 5 stars because: -They were 15 min late to the appointment. I drove 1hr to be there at 7am, so I was a little annoyed that they didn't tell me they'd be late and give me more of my morning back. -They left the exterior door standing open when they left. I had moved out so I didn't see this until the next day when I came back to drop off the key. So, back door wide open, A/C running, not good. When I told the manager about this in the follow-up phone call, she didn't seem to care. Apart from those aspects, I thought MTC did a good job.

All of the cleaners are very nice and thorough. However, I reaffirm that their scheduling system…read moreis very disorganized. I've had appointments where no one showed up. I've also cancelled appointments that have reappeared, so cleaners could show up when I was not expecting them. I understand that sometimes businesses make errors it's only natural. What I do not appreciate is that the supervisor does not apologize for the mistakes. Nor does the company ever offer me discounts for the time I've spent waiting for cleaners who never arrive. I'm so disappointed because I did like how they cleaned my house. But the company is very inflexible with appointments. There is absolutely NO wiggle room. That is, if you e.g. go on vacation, it's very difficult to reschedule your appointment. Additionally, if you call the phone number you always get an operator who you have to leave a message with. You never get someone who can actually help you the moment you call, which I find very frustrating. All in all, an unfortunate service where the job is done well, but the management is not.

I also discovered Standard Cleaning Services via a voucher and was happily stunned by the…read moreefficiency and results of the two women who cleaned two floors of our townhouse (the lowest/basement level isn't ready for prime time). And ,although I didn't want them to change the linens (I may change my mind about that), everything else was thoroughly washed, dusted, vacuumed, etc. Of special note, was the awesome job they did on the sliding glass doors in our shower, which get filmy because of the hard water in Virginia. Betty, who led the team, was great so I asked for her again when I signed up for a monthly housecleaning (no, not the basement). She came with three team members and they went to work all over the house. [Note: For those who don't speak Spanish, the three team members' English was poor, so I communicated primarily with Betty, although I could converse somewhat with my limited Espanol with the others.] I'm also adamant about their using my cleaning products (non-toxic), which was fine and our place looked (and smelled) great when they were done. Cost: $120. I also gave each of the 4 women a $5 tip, which is fair to me, for a monthly cleaning experience like this. Only complaint currently, is I didn't get a call when they were going to be more than 30 minutes late so I had to reschedule. But I think they understand they need to let me know in the future if they're delayed.

I was having guests over at my house and I needed it cleaned...I called several days in advance and gave all the details...after they no showed the first time I called them back and they apologized for the mixup (Excuse was inaccurate contact info), and that they promised that someone would show up in the morning 8 AM sharp. The next morning once again no one showed up, I called the owner to see what was going on, and her response was that "It was never confirmed" and basically she doubled the price that was initially agreed on to send someone out that afternoon. The excuse was at first the old "wrong contact information" line and then evolved to "you complained about the price" even though we agreed on a price days in advance. Horrible experience and unprofessional practice. There are many others maid companies in the area that are viable, this isn't one of them
