I recently had a furnace inspection (furnace was not working) from HEC. Their technician Tou, arrived on time and politely introduced himself. I was totally expecting a brief inspection and then an up sale of a new furnace, this was NOT the case. Tou inspected my furnace from top to bottom all the while explaining what the function of the part he was expecting and what the part should be doing. After checking the complete furnace he located the source of the problem. Not once did the technician ever tell me what I should do about my furnace, he simply explain the source of my problem furnace in terms i could understand and layout some options leaving the decision up to me-what a relief! I am a better informed consumer (when it come to my furnace) and feel i can make a wiser decision thanks to HEC and Tou's visit. I would strongly recommend Home Energy Center _ Ask for Tou! read more

Polite staff, but textbook "loss leader" sales tactic I scheduled a discounted $25 AC tune-up with this Home Depot affiliate after they texted me offering the "deal". There was over a month gap between when they messaged me and when they could schedule which was fine as I wasn't in a hurry. The technician who arrived was perfectly nice, but he ultimately did not perform a tune-up. He stated that he couldn't access the ports to measure coolant levels or service it because they were inside and required too much disassembly. When I spoke with the office to express my dissatisfaction about being charged for a service they admitted they couldn't perform, they claimed that had I provided more info at booking, they could have caught it. However, they never asked a single question about my unit during booking other than when I wanted to schedule. Despite our system running flawlessly and cooling our home perfectly all summer, the tech claimed the compressor was failing, noting a "loud noise that continued even after power was disconnected." I believe he saw the unit was 38 years old and immediately shifted to sales. Along with a "free estimate" to replace the whole HVAC system, I was bombarded with a laundry list of massive individual quotes: $3,669 for a new compressor, $1,300 for a whole-house duct cleaning, and $350 for a deep cleaning. When I complained about paying $25 for nothing, the office insisted I actually got a deal. They claimed they shifted the appointment to a "diagnostic visit" (normally valued at $99)--even though I never requested a diagnostic, and no actual diagnostic data or written pressure/electrical readings were provided. While the office staff and the technician were perfectly polite to deal with, the business model itself feels like a classic loss-leader tactic: use a cheap tune-up to get a foot in the door, refuse to service older equipment, declare it broken without written proof, and pivot immediately to an aggressive lineup of high-dollar replacement quotes and add-on services. If you have an older, working AC unit and are looking for actual maintenance rather than a multi-thousand-dollar sales pitch, I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

We were contacted repeatedly by Home Energy Center (Plymouth, MN) through Home Depot's referral program, despite signing up over two years ago. After enough calls, we agreed to a visit. At the first meeting at our home, the rep refused to provide my wife with a written bid unless both homeowners were present but ended up giving a range of $1,100-1,300 for furnace and AC pricing of $700-1,300. Given the low numbers, we asked him to confirmed in writing furnace pricing of $1,100-1,300 and AC pricing of $700-1,300 - which he did. At the follow-up meeting, the quote suddenly jumped to $8,000-10,000 for the furnace alone. When I called out the discrepancy, he said "there's no furnace/AC that cheap." Exactly why we confirmed in writing. He then tried to spin it as shorthand and implied my wife had misheard -- gaslighting and unprofessional. We ended the meeting within 15 minutes and asked him to leave. Wasted time, misleading quotes, and disrespect. Get written bids upfront and be very cautious. read more

We had a furnace replacement in January and Home Energy Heating and Cooling in as great. They scheduled us as soon as they could, and even helped us to move up in the queue given that our furnace had completely died. The workers were all great! Less than a year later, our furnace died again. Home Energy was so responsive and got our furnace up and running again quickly and with their warranty we didn't have to worry about the cost of repairing a new appliance. Josiah did our repairs and he was great. Very friendly and professional and did a great job explaining what went wrong. Highly recommend! read more

These guys are the worst... 3 different technicians came out on 3 different service calls. Each with a different diagnosis. Spent $1000 unnecessarily. The last technician said we should replace the unit. Turns out, cleaning is all that was needed as a sensor wasn't working properly. Incredibly disappointing and frustrating that these guys are in a position where they can just be terrible at their profession and not be held accountable. Save yourself and call someone else. read more

The team came and did the work including gluing a broken PVC exhaust which wasn't part of the bid. In order to install the new AC in the furnace, the technician with 30 years experience found a way to make space by removing some of the sheet metal. I would recommend this team to anyone who wants to buy a new AC unit from Home Depot read more

I hope this review will save anyone the thousands of dollars I lost on this shady company. Home Depot should drop all affiliation with them. They are a liability to be associated with. A few red flags came up along the way. The first one is their aggressive sales approach. At Home Depot, I was approached by a young lady representing Home Energy Center. I said, I was thinking about a new furnace and AC unit. First came the endless phone calls pushing me to get a quote. Then came 2 visits from pushy sales reps. The first one was all talk and a lot of attitude. He didn't hear a thing I said. he also had partied too much, too often and it showed. I was going to move on until more phone calls came and then another sales person. He came and after more calls and full payment sold me a new furnace and AC unit. He didn't tour my home or take any measurements. He did not have my best interests in mind. I live in a small town home. It has one bedroom and one bathroom. The installation was sloppy. There was aluminum tape everywhere. It was mostly random and applied poorly. The caulking was also ineffective and messy. I had to re-do it all myself. That was nothing though. The biggest problem is they sold me an AC unit that was totally incorrect for my home. It is way too big for my small home. It has the power for something like a warehouse. It also takes up way too much space on my patio. My patio like my home is very small. The old AC unit didn't even touch my patio. The new oversized unit covers half my patio. The AC towers above the other AC units in my building. When running it creates a wind storm in my home that blows all the paper around. The temperature drop is unbelievable and the speed it cools is mind boggling and that is on the lowest setting. Since it is new and presumably more efficient I expected better savings on my energy bill. The exact opposite happened. My rates have gone up. to my intense frustration I saw the efficiency ratings on the big yellow sticker was ranked in the least efficient category on the scale. That is the lowest level of efficiency. My energy bill has gone up as a result of these liars. Naturally, I told them all this. They said there is nothing they can do and it is the smallest AC unit they offer. They still contacted me many times reminding me to give them a 5 star review. When I looked at all their reviews, it was obvious well over half of them were fake. I think it was Google. This is the largest purchase I have ever made. They knowingly scammed me and were nothing but dismissive after. This company needs to be investigated by the Attorney General. If you care about honest business ethics or simply your money do not use this company. You will regret it until your grave. read more

Home Energy Heating & Cooling - Do not use Home Energy Center. They scammed me. - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Maple Grove, Minnesota

Very simply they knowingly installed an A/C unit that is too small for our house, smaller than what was replaced. It is next to useless, running all the time, and can't get to the requested temp. Their sales practices are reminiscent of old time bible salesmen. Get in the home, overstay your welcome, and talk about anything except the reason they are there. read more

Andrea P was amazing! She educated me on the services you offer and made me feel like I was talking to a friend or family member. As a new home owner, it's really important for me to trust the companies I work with, especially since I don't know what I'm doing! She made me feel at ease and like I just met a new friend that would help me along the road for success with my first home! THANK YOU, Andrea P. read more

I have to agree with the poor reviews here. 13k later and I don't have working AC and they keep saying they need to fix it tomorrow. I wanted a working AC on my install day. Ask them about the new 5 day install. It will hopefully installed on day 1and fixed on day five maybe? read more

Very pushy salesperson. Luckily I have no problem being assertive, but others could have a hard time saying no over and over. The experience I had getting am estimate from another company was completely different (in a great way) read more

I been shopping for a new furnace and A/C I got a couple of different estimates and wanting to get one from this guys to compare. So I set up appointment and they call me .and just so happens they have a 1:20pm opening the following day for them to come to my house for a estimate. I told them them I take it. Then on the phone they explain to me that they refuse to come out because my wife would not be there. Then I explain to them what's the big deal !I'm just looking a estimate to compare prices Maybe it's a high pressure sale tactic . But to find out that one of there rules... I'm just disappointed with there behavior. TB Burnsville read more

The only thing good about the two units I bought costing $15,000 is the sales person &installers were great, BUT ENDS THERE! I now need it tuned up during Jan-March so I called in Feb & Home depot says she left them a message to their answering service to call me about a tune up. I was a long time before hearing from them but finally made an appointment! The day before my appointment I had a sister that ended up in hospital & besides going to see her, we needed to clean her condo out as she wont be well enough to go back so was there week or longer but I called the day before my appointment & told them I needed to cancel as I had emergencies as I also had a pug with an emergency eye problem. The day of my appointment the tech left me a message trying to service my air conditioner! I left him a message about my cancelling it & why! I didnt hear back. So I called Home depot again last Mon telling them I needed my tune up this week as I had many appointments next 2 weeks, so they didnt call until today during one of my appointments leaving me voice mail telling me that they tried to service my units my last appontment!! I called her back, AGAIN PLAYING PHONE TAG, telling her how unhappy I was spending all this $$$ with lousy service! I did not hear back so I called again leaving another message!!!!! I think I will call my installer tomorrow, I am not happy for the $$$$$$$$ I spent!!!! I am in Phoenix not Ca! read more

Steve was very thorough in explaining what he saw during our 10/12/17 furnace maintenance visit. He even offered to connect with my husband later in the day to re-explain, if that was helpful. I'm very happy with the service that I received on 10/12 and with my decision to join the Home Energy Center maintenance program. read more

This was the most thorough furnace tune up ever performed on my 15 year old furnace. Jared didn't mind me watching the process and welcomed my questions. And to top it off, Home Depot was offering a $49 price (regular price $99). read more

This is apparently the company chosen by Home Depot to do all their installations in the Des Moines, Iowa area, although this wasnt known by me when i contacted The Home Depot to get an estimate on replacing my central air conditioning system in summer 2017. It was also not known to me that they subcontracted the job to another company and i have yet to unravel the entire puzzle since all companies involved deny their various parts in the entire screwed up, shoddy job which apparently involves the use of an unlicensed person to do the installation. After all this time of arguing and flipping emails to all persons found who might be able to do something about the scam, there still is 100% disatisfaction with the entire matter, and it has been discovered that nobody gives a crap about the fact that we are now stuck with an entirely screwed up system and that it was only half provided, or charged double the price it should have cost. I would never recommend Home Depot, Home Energy Center, or any of their helping companies unknown, unadmitted to, and unlicensed. We spent entirely too much money to have the same problems we had before replacement. Bunch of lieing shysters... Go elsewhere read more

This company sent a technician to my mother-in-law's house last week to replace a condenser type device near the firebox in the furnace. The technician did not/could not figure out where the three bolts were supposed to go to re-attach the motor to the condenser assembly. He put one bolt in the incorrect place, putting an extra hole in the condenser, which is now missing a bolt where it should have gone in the first place. This happened last Tuesday, November 21. This company is associated with Home Depot. I have contacted them numerous times since last Wednesday, to try to get them to return to the house and fix this issue. They have been lax in returning my telephone calls, forcing me to call them numerous times. I told a customer service representative there this morning that I wanted the problem fixed today. He wanted to have the last word, was quite obnoxious, and told me they would not come out until Friday at the earliest. I had to agree since I have few options at this point. The technician did not have extra bolts of any kind in his vehicle. That seems unprofessional for someone who works on the same type of equipment all the time. We will not be using this company again, ever. Use them at your own risk! read more
