The first time I visited Holy Grail Pharms was uncomfortable. When my brother suggested that a woman named (name redacted) worked at this place, the guy staffed there that day got uppity, & staunchly declared that there was no one named (name redacted) employed at Holy Grail Pharms. Perhaps my brother should've let it go. Certainly, the question of the name (name redacted) being on the work schedule at Holy Grail Pharms or not was inconsequential in the business of procuring some fantastic pre-rolls there. As it went, however, I think my brother bristled slightly at this young man's tone. I also noted a tinge of misplaced aggression in the youth, and I cannot say I blame my brother for feeling irritated. We're old. We've lived through some sketchy things. My brother just had open heart surgery. He said to this Holy Grail Pharms employee, "Actually, she does work here. Anyway..." and gestured toward the cases of cannabis delights I'd asked him to bring me there for. The young man didn't like this at all. His aggression turned up a notch, and he forcefully insisted that (name redacted) didn't work at Holy Grail Pharms. Wishing to stop the trajectory of this encounter, I smiled and cheerfully asked this easily-riled, tensed up dispensary worker some questions about his wares. Fortunately, the first visit ended without anymore foolishness, despite the testy side-eye being thrown around.
Sunday, July 14, 2024; today, at the end of my visit to Eugene, I asked my brother where the closest dispensery was to us after my last errand. He told me of two, one of which being Holy Grail Pharms. I needed to get going, and the closer place was Holy Grail Pharms. This was the WRONG choice. Though the unpleasant experience with the overly touchy young man was fresh in our memories, I guess we both banked on the odds that the same individual would not be working at Holy Grail Pharms today. We walked in. I looked up at the youth, noticed his wild, poofy hair had changed little, he still had the same square glasses frames, though I am blanking on the presence of any facial hair. Youths such as this lad have sparse, little goatees sometimes, and I want to say he had one, but it doesn't matter. His eyes darted from my face to my brother. We should've left right then. We should never have gone back to Holy Grail Pharms.
Instead, I went to work trying to sort disorganized bits of cash so I knew how much I had, and then...
The young man righteously stormed that he didn't appreciate my brother telling (name redacted) that he was an (exploitive/redacted), and added some low, bitchy muttering about this or that, to which my brother was genuinely shocked, and asked the lad for clarification. This easily-riled Holy Grail employee repeated that this woman had told him that my brother had called him an (exploitive/redacted), and that he didn't appreciate it, and some other noise-I'm not sure, I'd lost interest. As my brother has a serious heart condition, which this woman, whom my brother doesn't want named, can vouch for, because she wasn't invented. She exists, knows my brother, and she does work at Holy Grail Pharms...with this touchy kid. Poor girl. Management, if you're reading this, please pay her time and a half when she has to work with this bitchy young man.), I stated we were leaving. On our way out the door, I asked the lad if he felt better. The sad smile on my face at this kid's emotional immaturity, his lack of class, his utter foolishness to abuse a pair of people who are standing in his business counting a pile of cash they intended to spend there, the fact that he somehow felt a threat he had to neutralize in my brother, who doesn't want a problem with anyone, ever, well, that smile upset this angry Holy Grail Pharms worker. Indeed, he shouted at me, "Stupid bitch!" before I closed the door.
Now, I feel no personal injury from this encounter. I don't know this young man's story. I do, however, feel quite upset that this young man seemed to have an ax to grind with my brother the minute he laid eyes on him. His conduct was just horridly unprofessional, immature, ignorant; his attitude was hostile, pedantic, self-righteous and rude! What a rotten employee.
I do not recommend Holy Grail Pharms. People have enough to cope with these days without receiving poor treatment at the hands of a young man who never learned how to behave in a professional setting, and who has an ax to grind with the odd customer, when they are already seeking respite from the abuses of the world by patronizing Holy Grail Pharms in the first place. I've found there are lots of other dispensaries in Eugene with very kind & helpful staff. read more
