Not long ago, I had the delightful experience of eating at Holt's Park Ridge, where I sampled their signature burger, what a burger it was! Juicy to the point of nearly being too much, it was also so packed with flavor (a variety of flavors, really) that it made me rethink the very nature of the gastronomic term "umami." The restaurant's modern, clean atmosphere affords diners a pleasant experience. I say this having recently dined there recently, I chose to dine at the restaurant after hearing favorable reviews of both the food and the service. I'm glad we did, as I found both to be quite enjoyable, leading to an experience we would both recommend to others. It's essential to remember that the costs tend to be on the higher end, yet I think it is justified because the food is so good and the experience is so fun, that it makes me want to return and try even more of their menu. This is always a good option for dinner and they have a great cocktail menu. During covid it's always a nice treat to get a couple cocktails to go with dinner. The food is great. The burrata and cheese curds are 10/10. The only thing that could be improved is the take out experience. There is always one guy panicking and running over and back between the phones and kitchen. BALLIN' menu! They have something enticing for everyone. I've been here a few times and have to say, in the middle of a Bears Sunday rush, they still treated my friends and I like royalty- and we had 3 babies with us! What a relief. Really fun to find a place where a 16 month old can have her little meltdown and it's drowned out by people laughing and yelling at the score on TV ;) If you're not super familiar with Park Ridge, don't plan on parking directly outside the restaurant! Finding gluten free egg free options seems to be near impossible. When we called to check on their gluten free pizza option we were ecstatic to hear that the crust was also egg free! How does this place not have 5 stars? The service was excellent, the food was great. It was CLEAN. Seriously, my favorite brunch food is chilaquiles and this place had some of the best I've ever had. I wish they were a little spicier but they were super tasty. Our drink service was on point and our waitress stopped and made convo with us a few times. Heard from a local tik tok food reviewer with blue nail polish that this is one of the few places in Chicago that offers New Haven style pies. Walked in there was a group of girls that seated my party. It felt kind of claustrophobic in the area you had random kids running around like it was jungle gym and it took forever to order drinks. Luckily the bartender was on point and had our drinks covered. Guy was a champ .. as for the pizza it's unique and has great taste cheese / toppings were on point . They have a huge drink menu that is broken up into sections (which is extremely helpful), and although their menu is pretty small, there is food for anyone and everyone. Their pizza crust is one of the best I've ever had, and their fish tacos are absolutely fab. Drinkwise, their Bloody's are delicious and they give you a sidecar without you needing to ask for one, and they have the new Corona Familiar that I'm in love with. They also got me obsessed with Saugautuck Brewing Company's Blueberry Maple Stout. Best. Beer. Ever. Josh was a great server. Stopped in on a Saturday night for a birthday. We were a party of 6. A couple people got burgers, a couple people got pizza, I got the fried chicken sandwich. Everything was tasty, but the pizza I think is the specialty here! My chicken sandwich was juicy but not SUPER crispy and came with an apple slaw and chipotle mayo. I've never eaten there, but I've looked at their menu several times thinking that I might go in and have a bite, but nothing on their menu appeals to me. I'm not a beef eater for one thing and like I said, nothing on the menu really appealed to me. I think I drink there once and they were pretty good. They also have an outdoor area but the location of it isn't so great. This is just my opinion though I wouldn't put much into it because I know a lot of people eat there and like it so I can't say anything bad about it it just didn't appeal to me personally. read more

I dined here for the second time which wasn't as great as my first, but it was still a good time. The first time I ate here, I sat on the patio and enjoyed a couple of cocktails and the kale and brussels sprout salad with chicken added, all which were very good. The second time I came was yesterday. Our group was seated inside and service was very good the whole time. We had the curds and calamari/shrimp/chips appetizers, which were good. For my entree, I ordered the soppressata and hot honey pizza. I ordered the small size, but I am telling you, two people with average appetites could easily have split the whole thing. It was huge! I thought it was good, not great, and in my opinion there was a bit too much honey on it. It also sat like a brick in my stomach all day, and that wasn't good. My husband ordered the steak sandwich, which I did not try but which he did not enjoy at all: he said he couldn't even tell if there was cheese on it and it was very dry. All portion sizes are crazy big here, so you definitely get a good value for your money in that respect, but I wish the food was a tad bit better. We just finished a wonderful time at the Wolff's Flea Market and wanted to try a completely new place, so we let the GPS pick and we ended up here...and I'm glad we did:) I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which was delicious. Gotta mention those cheese fries though-their cheese sauce is something I've never tasted before? ...very good, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what made it have such a significantly different taste to it. My wife thinks they put sugar in it? ...either way, it's freaking awesome! What I REALLY want to talk about is their appetizer dish of meatballs. That was one of my top all time favorites of appetizer dishes EVER! Just visited again and I am thoroughly disappointed. No where near what it used to be. Menu has changed (I get it) but choices are typical not the flair it once had. We have always started with their calamari appetizer. It's now calamari, shrimp and fries. It all tastes like fries. I ordered steak sandwich. Threw 1/2 away. Meat had absolutely no flavor. Quite a disappointment. My wife had a burger which she said was ok. I think she was trying to make me feel better. Sadly you've lost a loyal customer. We were promptly seated and our server came over and introduced herself. We ordered the cheese curds to start with. I opted for a Three Floyd's IPA and one of my friends did the Long Island iced tea, which was potent to say the least. Our cheese curds came out and they were excellent. Not too much breading and they were hot. The sauces weren't my favorite as they were basic (Marinara and Ranch), but they were good. For an entree, I ordered the small Elote pizza, which was phenomenal and I'd order it again. The small pizza can easily feed to two people and the large is HUGE just FYI. Holt's changed the game and opened up the floodgates for new restaurants in Park Ridge, making this once sleepy town stay awake after 5 p.m. They put an outdoor patio in Park Ridge before COVID made everyone do it. You can't really go wrong with anything on their menu, but I love the house burger smothered in mushrooms, the salmon sandwich topped with magnificent bacon, and any of their creative pizza concoctions. THEIR FRIES ARE WORTHY OF A PARAGRAPH UNTO THEMSELVES. RARELY DO YOU ORDER A BURGER WITH FRIES AND ACTUALLY GET A DECENT AMOUNT OF FRIES ON THE SIDE. I think this might be my favorite restaurant in Park Ridge! Came here with our parents and dog. Even though it was cold, we sat outside. They have a lovely patio and were so great with the dog! Here's the good. The Salad with Chicken was very good. The Fries are pretty good, not great. The bun on the burger was good. The server was polite. The decor is interesting. Here's the BAD. The Salmon BLT was horrible. The salmon was horribly dried-out and bland. It's a sliver of salmon and they cooked the hell out of it. The sandwich was super bland overall and the bacon was mediocre at best. Yes, I said that a sandwich with bacon on it was bland, amazingly so! Even the bread sucked. The Burger was WAY OVERDONE! The fish tacos were super super bland. The fish was cooked correctly but it was just bland. The HVAC was running like they were trying to chill meat in the place. (I'm not petite and I never get cold.) The music is "good" if you like canned stuff from 87 to 91. I had high hopes for this place. The pictures look great but the food is hit and miss. Holt's is a fine addition to Park Ridge and a great spot to socialize if you plan on attending a library program or going to the Pickwick. The drinks here are great and the portion sizes are pretty big. My only complaint is that service can be a little slow. However, when your order does come, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
