They focus on baked goods bakery, so the coffee was decent and good with the pastry. The pastry was 5 out of five. Now that I've been here second time I'm giving this five stars. Friendly service, delicious pastries. Evidently, they're thinking about opening another bakery. Hopefully it's closer to me. I give them a lot of credit. It's tough running a bakery and making high-end product with a reasonable price relative to the quality the ingredients. Lesser known fact: they've been killing the pastry fusion game. My favorite is a pastry that blends curry, pork sung, and green onion milk breads into one. They also have a milk bread loaf that's half green tea/red bean and half coconut. I think they've even had pork sung red bean once which is admirably wild?? Their latest releases have also been phenomenal. The flaky, sesame-covered radish and spring onion pies taste like they're straight out of a dim sum restaurant, and the salted cream custard bun was so aromatic and creamy. I know they're vegetarian, but I wanted to double check with her. She responds as "vegetarian means no meat, right"? All employees working at a food establishment should know what vegetarian means. This was quite baffling to hear. I asked her for a new slice because the one that was out on display was visibly burned and the other slice was touching pepperoni from the meat pizza. As mentioned, I'm a vegetarian. Therefore, I could not have either one of those slices. She proceeds to say that's how the pizzas are. They are slightly burned because they are so sourdough. While I can accept this answer, I do not accept the fact that she would not be willing to give me another slice as a paying customer. She insensitively said she can't give me a new one until all the old slices are taken up. She mentioned that this is their procedure. According to this, they are saying that they will not provide a proper product unless the old, damaged product, or unacceptable by the customer is used up first. If this is their business model, then it is apparent they do not value customer service. This business should have the competence to understand that if they want to sell a product, they cannot sell it in a condition that the customer is not satisfied with. Most importantly, being a vegetarian, they should have the sensitivity to understand that if a slice is touching the meat product then they cannot consume it. And again, the employee completely disregarded my health and religious beliefs by not accommodating me. You usually won't encounter problems when you're just trying to buy bread. However, it reflects on the business's employees greatly when there is a problem and they do not value customer service by resolving or accommodating the customer's satisfaction. I will be switching to Noble exclusively. Especially since it's so readily available at the farmers markets and stores.

This is exciting for those of us living the GF life and constantly lowering our bakery expectations! Ha ha! I tried the dirty chai and it was spot on -- the espresso and chai balanced perfectly. I also had a gluten-free banana walnut muffin that was actually pretty good for gluten free. I asked about other GF items and was told that Thursday, Friday and Saturday would be good days for variety.
