My favorite place to stop by after class on once a month because it's so much cheaper getting the bread that I like to get from grocery stores but at a cheaper price. I usually buy 3-4 bags and put them in the freezer.

In my Oprah voice. "I..LOVE...BREAD!" This Place has been around for a while an for some reason, I never knew it existed. The aromatics I'd bread always catches my attention. So one day, I stopped by to see what the beautiful smells were about. When you walk in, it's a convenience section where they sell their breads along with other store like things (candy, drinks, chips, etc). In addition, they also carry Dave's Killer Bread, which most happen to be vegan friendly, so bet I purchased like 15. The cost here is low because the bread is what they call "imperfect," so they don't sell it in the store. The price is about $2-3 for a whole loaf of fine quality bread. Definitely check this place out if you're on a budget or just want to enjoy some bomb bread from both companies.

Ummmm....what?! $0.50 a load for Dave's Killer Bread. Why am I just learning about this place? I was cruising down Southern and I was overtaken by the smell of fresh baked bread. Then out of nowhere appears this giant bakery/distribution center with Alpine Valley Bread signage festooned on the building skin. Almost blending in with the landscape is a small storefront with discounted bread. I pulled a U and stopped in. I was not sure what to expect when I walked in but I rubbed my eyes as I thought I was reading the prices incorrectly. $0.50-$1.50 for bread that sells in the store for $5+ a loaf. I bagged a few loaves and looked around to see what else was for sale; some pastries, jam/marmalade, soft drinks, and few other things. I think I just found my favorite place for bread.

Stopped by today. Bread was $2 or $3.50 depending on "day old" or fresh loaves. No price gouging today. Love their bread!

This beautiful little shop feels like stepping into another world the moment you walk in. It's family run, and you can truly feel the love and creativity that goes into everything they make. From cupcakes and tortes to cookies and so much more, every display case looked amazing. They even had gluten-free options, which was great to see. Gabriel welcomed us in and took the time to walk us through all the delicious treats they had to offer. His kindness and enthusiasm made the experience even more special. Since it was our first visit, we were treated to complimentary shortbread cookies -- we chose lavender and rose -- and both were absolutely delicious. We ended up taking home a strawberry brownie, the tuxedo cupcake with dark chocolate and buttercream frosting, a vanilla cupcake, and the limoncello cupcake. Every single dessert was wonderful and beautifully made. This is the kind of bakery you instantly know you'll return to again and again. We will definitely be back!

I've been here 3 times in 2 weeks after discovering it and plan to go again in the next couple days. There's so much try! They even do high tea, which is a treat to find! The decor is unique and gives service to their heritage and personally curated feel. No doubt there is something to enjoy for everyone here. I'm not sure about Vegan or gluten free options.

They sometimes sell out of their croissant wheels, so we had to get one: croissant consistency shaped into a circle with filling and glaze. When you cut into the raspberry lemon, the so-named filling oozes out... decadence on a plate. They also had a pistachio and chocolate one, and others. Somewhat similar to cronuts but less flaky. At $9.50, I'm good for awhile! We also tried the soft lemon blueberry cinnamon roll which also came in several different flavors. Their sandwich bread is also quality; we enjoy the honey whole wheat. They have a rewards card to buy 10 loaves of bread (or challah, sweet bread) and get 1 free. They also donate their leftover goods at the end of the day to a homeless shelter. We've only been to the one in Old Town Mesa, by the fine art theater. Just glad its not next door, because I'd start living there! Not to sound like a hoity toity food snob, (kind of like when someone says they are not a "conspiracy theorist," but then they go into great lengths about conspiracies -- I'll be a snob here. Their pastries and breads are next level. They aren't just baking an excellent product (which would be enough to make me happy in area that lacks artisan bakers) they are "crafting" baking art. I hate to compare to the European Bakery craft (because there are plenty of great American bakers) but Europe does have that as a trademark (at least France, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy.) If all I ate eat each day was one of their croissants, it would be enough - theirs just flake away from the outside, and then a tender airy sourdough inside. Pain au Chocolate - excellent. Croissant - excellent. Oh -- Chocolate Chuck cookie - unbelievable. Best I've ever had. Chewy, buttery, crunchy. Not caky. I'll be heading back for sourdough bread and other goodies. No photos - I eat the goods too fast.

I know they're vegetarian, but I wanted to double check with her. She responds as "vegetarian means no meat, right"? All employees working at a food establishment should know what vegetarian means. This was quite baffling to hear. I asked her for a new slice because the one that was out on display was visibly burned and the other slice was touching pepperoni from the meat pizza. As mentioned, I'm a vegetarian. Therefore, I could not have either one of those slices. She proceeds to say that's how the pizzas are. They are slightly burned because they are so sourdough. While I can accept this answer, I do not accept the fact that she would not be willing to give me another slice as a paying customer. She insensitively said she can't give me a new one until all the old slices are taken up. She mentioned that this is their procedure. According to this, they are saying that they will not provide a proper product unless the old, damaged product, or unacceptable by the customer is used up first. If this is their business model, then it is apparent they do not value customer service. This business should have the competence to understand that if they want to sell a product, they cannot sell it in a condition that the customer is not satisfied with. Most importantly, being a vegetarian, they should have the sensitivity to understand that if a slice is touching the meat product then they cannot consume it. And again, the employee completely disregarded my health and religious beliefs by not accommodating me. You usually won't encounter problems when you're just trying to buy bread. However, it reflects on the business's employees greatly when there is a problem and they do not value customer service by resolving or accommodating the customer's satisfaction. I will be switching to Noble exclusively. Especially since it's so readily available at the farmers markets and stores.
