    Salmon Waldorf salad
    Makenzie B.

Food was decent - I ordered the salmon Waldorf salad and it was a 7/10, the apples seemed to be soaking in lemon juice at some point which I get, but it was overwhelming. My husband got a smash burger with "fries". It has zero flavor. Price was reasonable and service was mid. Our server didn't really talk, but he kept water full

We came here and it was about a 30 minute wait so we just sat at the bar and ate which was great. The service was good and the vibe was super chill surprisingly based on the outside. You can join the waitlist online which is a very convenient feature. Everything here was pretty good. The ranchero flatbread was delicious. The pepperoni was good but smaller pepperonis would be nice, it'd be nice not to take a bite and pull all the toppings off. The Mac and cheese I must say left much to be desired, it was just bland. The raspberry vinaigrette was a little sweet for my taste it definitely gave more syrup than vinaigrette vibes but that's just my opinion.

Let's start with the housekeeping. The bathrooms are clean. The dining area is very clean. The staff is super friendly. We sat outside on a beautiful afternoon for lunch. We had a server who provided a lot of dining options and was very attentive. My colleague chose the chicken and biscuits. The comment was they were very good. I went with the servers recommendation of fish and chips. Let's start by saying they give you plenty of food. The fish was quite good. It was cod. It was fried but not overly so. You get a ton of french fries and coleslaw. The coleslaw and fries were very good. The fries were not at all greasy. They have their own house made tartar sauce, which I found different but very good. Strong recommendation for the sweet tea as well. There are lots of lunch choices to eat either inside or outside.

Wish I could give more stars!!! Food was AMAZING! We put ourselves on the waitlist before we left our cabin because it said 30-45 min wait so I also suggest doing that, once we got to the host stand and checked in we only waited 10 min! We aren't from the area so we asked our lovely server what they're known for & she told us steaks are great which was a what we were looking at. Were steak snobs so we were skeptical at first due to the wide variety of food on their menu. Needless to say we were HIGHLY impressed especially for the price! Wife got the Hawaiian ribeye medium rare with Mac n cheese! AMAZING flavor! I got the regular ribeye medium rare with Mac n cheese and a house salad with the poppy seed vinaigrette! When I tell you I want that dressing bottled for my house I'm not joking! It's so damn good! Our server Cassidy was personable, quick and knowledgeable. Her honesty about menu items was my favorite part. The atmosphere was perfectly lit, busy and not too loud!

Wow we love this place! We sat at the bar with Melissa as the bartender. She was so friendly and made great recommendations. The restaurant was so clean, decorated nicely and a cozy ambiance that also felt high end. The food was amazing! And came out perfectly timed with appetizers. We met some locals who said they actually know Dolly. We felt right at home and will definitely be back! I highly recommend this place. Great prices too!

Holston's has long been one of our favorites, and we've enjoyed many memorable meals. That's why this takeout experience stood out--in a less-than-great way. We ordered the fried mozzarella appetizer for $9.99, and while we understand prices can vary, the portion felt underwhelming with just four pieces. As you'll see in the photo, the presentation didn't quite match the value. A smaller container or a bit more attention to visual appeal might help the dish feel more inviting, especially for takeout. We're hoping this was just a rare misstep--still rooting for Holston's to keep up the quality we've come to love!

This review is a mixed bag of thoughts. Nice, quiet place with relaxed atmosphere. We had the brisket egg rolls, they are soft and mushy not crisp at all. For the table we had Caesar salads with lite dressing, it was Caesar soup, completely drowned. Did not eat. The potato soup is a cup of grainy mashed potatoes, the texture was off putting. The kids Alfredo was also so saucy it was soup. The redeeming plate was the short rib melt and grits, both were delish. The service wasn't impressive either. Our young fella was not interested in listening to our requests (i.e. lite dressing). Don't be in a rush to leave the table, pace yourself. Overall, I wouldn't come back.

Not the best food both dishes we got was disappointing... fries were good. But the waitress took a while to come over. Nice set up .. they put more into the ambiance than the food.

Had to edit this because my mom and I both got food poisoning from this meal. She reported her symptoms to one of the hostesses who was rude to her. My stomach was queasy when I left, and we were both up all night sick. We both had chicken and dumplings and fried green tomatoes.

I had been here once before and the food was so good I had to come back. By the time I got to my hotel, I was running late for my reservation and got a call from The Appalachian checking if I was going to make my reservation. I let them know that I had just arrived at my hotel, traffic on I-81 held me up and I was going to order an Uber as soon as I was off the phone. Coming from DC, I expected an Uber would be at the hotel door steps within a few minutes, I was wrong. I was then crushed by the realization that I was wrong, I wasn't gonna make my reservation. I knew that on a week night The Appalachian's kitchen closed at 9. Ride.I called them back to let them know of the situation and expressed my desire to have their Wood Fired Lamb. The Gentleman that answered the phone simply responded "it's going on the grill now, we will see you when you get here. F-ing amazing, turned my stressful and painful day completely around. Uber'ed over, walked into an empty restaurant on a weekday where I would guess dinner customers might have been light and they held the staff for little old me. The Appalachian had just moved to the top of my list for I mean best restaurant I've ever been to in my life. Unfortunately, for them, my favorite restaurant of all time in the United States shut down when I was in my early 20's so they'll never get a chance to compete.. But they just bumped Alligator Soul in Savannah Georgia to number two still in existence in these great United States. The Appalachian is a must dine at least once in your life, top tear resistant. Out F-ing standing, must F-ing dine at some point in your life. To the staff of The Appalachian, thank you for taking care of me went you could have told me that you close at 9pm. Gordon Ramsey would consider it a threat. As a chewy bacon lover and enthusiast, when my bacon came out charred and demented, i was appalled to say the least. I had to drench it in the white gravy so it would give my stomach the illusion of chewy. Even then, even with the request of chewy, i was let down. The home fries were exceptional.. as exceptional as any other home fry you'll get on the Pigeon Forge strip. And why? They'll all the same refrigerated chips of processed mess. Soggy, not even crisp. So poor you'd hope the microwave would add additional flavors from all the other food they microwaved. I wouldn't even praise the food if paid me, it's sad enough i paid IT to taste like wet squeaky boots. But anyways the atmosphere was just bewildering! They have a big exhibit with birds you can watch. Sometimes they're loud and a bit squawk-y but it doesn't deplete the experience. This is my internal conflict with a certain drink on the menu. The Monster. This satanic abomination soup of a beverage really tempted me. I drink energy drinks and was excited to try a Monster! I mean.. we're all a little adventurous deep down.. human nature! Wrong. Apparently.. With full fledged confidence.. as much as you'd expect at a busy bar playing BINGO.. I asked the waitress for a Monster energy drink. Big. Mistake. I get it.. I took an unsuspecting picture of the beast waiting.. opened it.. and took a sip. If you were to ask me, giving somebody a pedicure with your MOUTH would taste no different than a can of this monstrosity. Maybe I recommend the restaurant.. but I don't recommend the Monster. We were greeted and seated promptly in a lovely little alcove near their patio, the perfect spot for old friends catching up. Our server, Olivia, was phenomenal, offering insight and recommendations into their seasonal menu items. We started with cocktails and appetizers. We loved the Roasted Beet Salad and Crab Bisque. Deee-licious! We then moved on to our entrees: Filet mignon (prepared Medium) w/caramelized onions & garlic mashed potatoes. The filets were seasoned and cooked perfectly - melt in your mouth, oh soooo good! Prime rib steak sandwich with caramelized onions & melt cheese. Opted for a side of grilled zucchini instead of fries. Also a big hit with our friend. I chose the night's feature dish of halibut and couscous. Nicely prepared and delicious. Though we didn't have room for dessert, once Olivia brought the dessert tray by, we quickly made room! My husband chose the Blueberry Bread Pudding. Of course I had to taste! I'm typically am not a fan of bread puddings due to being heavy and somewhat gummy! This one was absolutely light, and yummy allowing the blueberries to shine. Our friends shared the NY cheesecake with fresh strawberries. Also, light, fluffy and delicious! I chose the key lime pie with toasted coconut sprinkled on top. Incredibly good with light tartness though I prefer more tart. Still, it ranks up there as one of the best I've found. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails, food, ambiance, decor, and our server, Olivia. Ample portions, reasonable/comparable pricing, and delicious/creative menu. Bravo, Seasons 101! Bravo!!
