Been here a few times and the first was the most interesting as I didn't know what to expect. Everyone (Jezabel specifically) who works there is friendly and helpful answering any questions I had. Once I made it past that first time, each time got better. The privacy was a concern and after seeing the set-up of your 'suite' so you don't have to go outside and can lock yourself in cleared the confusion I had. I prefer the white room over the blue room, and both technically do the same thing. You can choose between no lights, starry ceiling, with or w/o music. I've done w/stary lights and music...completely dark...and then dark w/music...each one a different experience. I would recommend going at least three times as you can see what you prefer, and the last two times fell asleep it was so relaxing! read more

Infinity Float had a sale & I've always been a huge fan of "Altered States" (see it!) so I bit. Boy am I glad I did! I was immediately welcomed by Maddie at the front desk who confirmed my name & informed me my room (Blue) was ready. She suggested I hit the restroom before my hour float and then returned to give me some quick information about the sensory controls inside the float space (ear plugs, light/Star & sound options, etc). Then the glorious hour was all mine. You strip, shower & carefully step into the float room (8-10" deep). Make your sensory adjustments and off you go! Your mind does the rest. About 20-25 minutes in I forgot where my limbs were or that I had them...my imagination started running (I had sound & blue light on and mostly eyes closed). I saw organic shapes & moving flower type shapes with feminine faces emerging from each one followed by a series of uncommon floating terrains and then just a drifting twilight consciousness. Easy check in. Cold shower before to get clean for the tank. It was a 8 x 6 ft float room id guess. It was warm and peaceful. Buttons to turn on music and stars in the celing. Personally i wore a bathing cap because i have blue hair and didnt want to get charged the 2000$ fine for dying the salt water. I also took three breaks, two because i got salt in my eyes and one other because i got too warm and needed a break from the humidity and warmth of the salt float room. My stuff was safely secured in the shower room leading up to the float room. Theres a lock on the door so no one gets in. My partner and I booked together but theres no rooms to float for two people. The receptionist was kind. I guess there was no one booked after us so we got a little extra time in the float room. Toure provided a small face cloth and body towel. This spa is very NY style. In and out, which I don't love. I wish they would create an oasis around the tank experience. There is a waiting area of a bench against the wall across from the floating rooms. The appointments are clearly packed in so there is little room between folks and the poor attendant is running around. The rooms themselves are very small. The shower is right outside of the tank. Shoes go into the rooms with you, which I don't love. They do not have pods they have rooms. I've only done the white room which I realize I prefer to the pods. There is more space in there as a bigger bodied person. They have nice star lights on the ceiling of the room which all can turn off. I wish the lights outside the tanks were automatic and turned off when you go in. There is a crack of light that comes through the doors, so you aren't completely in the dark. There is not really a relaxation room since where the tea and water is also the waiting area, so it's kind of like when you are done, get out. Although all of this, having the space in the rooms makes it enjoyable enough for me to get a membership. Which is a great cost for monthly hour floats. read more

All I can say is this is the most relaxed I've been in a while! It was so soothing to float for an hour with the light music and dimmed lights. I was a little nervous that it would be too long, but it felt amazing to be unplugged. A few things: - I read a few reviews on here saying you could hear outside noise. Personally, I didn't notice that at all. I couldn't hear anything inside the chamber, and I couldn't hear noise inside the changing/shower room either. - Definitely follow the pre-float instructions. I was glad I didn't shave the day prior because I didn't feel any stinging on my skin during the float. - Use the ear plugs. Made it super easy to relax without worrying about getting water in my ears. I did get some water in my eyes at one point, which stung, but there's a spray bottle with regular water to rinse your face with, so that helped. I'm pretty experienced at floating, and I really loved this place. The lady who greeted me at the desk was very friendly and welcoming, and explained everything very clearly. Unlike most of the places I've been to, Holos doesn't have pods, but instead has suites, so it's sort of like floating in a small room. It's much more relaxing than a pod (especially if, like me, you once got stuck in a pod -- not an experience I care to repeat). Everything is clean as a whistle and the decor is lovely too. Don't miss the stars on the ceiling during your float -- lovely and relaxing. I'll will definitely be returning. read more

Very happy with my experience with this business, while realizing the flotation therapy is not for me. I had always wanted to try this experience, having realized the benefits of yoga, Pilates and meditation infrequently over many years. I made my first float booking online, which was simple and easy. On arrival, the helpful and friendly receptionist answered all of my questions and set me up for the experience. The shower and tank were clean and spacious. The water, temperature, and experience were exactly as described on their website. I couldn't quite get into the experience despite several tweaks - lighting, music etc that that tank offered and decided to cut the session short. The receptionist really took her time to understand what I was feeling and ensure I was happy. So I do highly recommend this business as a good experience if floatation therapy is for you. While it's not for me, I would recommend Infinity Float to a friend who wanted to try it or was a regular. read more

I was so excited to finally be able to try out the sensory deprivation tanks at Infinity Float! It only cost us ~$80 because we were first time customers! Once we entered, we noticed the lobby looked just like the entrance to a fancy spa. Classical music flowed throughout the room, and the absence of other customers around us promoted the relaxing and mellow ambiance Infinity Float is trying to promote. We confirmed our appointment, and after a couple of minutes, the receptionist explained in detail on how to prepare for the float experience, any tips on what to do once we start floating in the tank, and how to operate the switches in the tanks. After showering away/placing the earplugs, I finally entered the tank. A whole hour in the tank, and I could feel the tension in my body melt away into the float tank. The water is heavily loaded with Epsom Salt, so it's very easy to float in here, won't wrinkle one's hands, and is quite smooth and silky. There are switches on the sides of the wall allowing people to use twinkly lights and/or music in case anyone is not ready/does not want to immerse themselves completely into sensory deprivation. However, if one wants to, he/she can completely turn off all the lights and music to be left alone in a chamber absent of sound and sight. It saddens me that a lot of people have had such a terrible experience due to being able to hear people outside, but I personally didn't hear any outside noise whilst staying in the chamber! Just visited recently for my first float. The ambiance wasn't that great. Half of the lights were off and I felt the attendant rushed through explaining the float experience. After 30 minutes I was over it and got dressed to leave. It would be appreciated if y'all considered adding shower caps to the amenities as to encourage more diverse clientele. I'm Black and don't enjoy getting my hair wet. Overall it was an okay experience I won't repeat. read more

It seems that Infinity Float is a different business from the spa where is located. The first receptionist told me to wait for the infinity receptionist; when she arrived the first receptionist couldn't care less to inform the infinity receptionist that I was there for my session, so I sat there till the infinity receptionist realize that I was there for my session. I have done floatation therapy and sensory deprivation for years in an amazing location in Brooklyn. Infinity Float NYC is very close to my office, perfect location, the reason why I went there. It was my first time, and last for the following reasons. The float room has water damage on the walls and has a really bad old building smell. The towels had an excessive perfume smell. The water is not set to the right temperature to create sensory deprivation. The door doesn't seal properly to stop the light from the other room to filter to create total darkness. The bathroom wasn't properly clean or well maintained. It was disappointing, but I will prefer to take the trip to Brooklyn next time. read more

The spa-like feel of the reception room, the UHHMAZING view of the Flatiron district from the spacious windows, the competitive pricing that beats most, if not ALL float spas in the City, including a buoyant head/neck rest so your cervical spine can relax in the tank (which I have never seen before and I have floated up and down the West Coast), and a myriad of skin and facial products to use before and after the float only serve to enhance the guest's experience. The location is super clutch. Nearly every train is within walking distance and the Union Square Farmer's Market is a short stroll away for post-float goodies. Sorry for the late update, but another Yelper (Elite) suggested that I update this review. I went back for a second visit, and discovered that the immersion chamber is not sound proofed. For my first visit, I arrived in the morning there was no activity in the space and it was fine. For my second visit, I arrived mid-day and could hear a lot of doors closing and conversations being had in the adjoining room. When I mentioned this to the front desk staff, they just looked at each other nervously and were like "oh well". For an immersion chamber to be truly sensory deprivation, this one doesn't cut it. I would suggest only booking in the early mornings when there is not as much activity in the space. read more

It's not worth it tbh. I use to live in Brooklyn and could have enjoyed the same peace and quiet in my bathtub. Yes, you do get to float in epson salt and relax but for someone who's hyper sensitive to sound, I found it extremely hard to fully relax. The staff members were great. They were informative and friendly. However, once I laid down in the immersion chamber tub, all I could focus on was foot steps and closing doors outside the room. Super hard to let my mind go when I hear foot steps every 5 to 10 mins. Also, my starry night sky lights did not work. Suggestion to this establishment: Make the immersion chambers sound proof. That's the MAIN reason I booked a float session. Also, don't open a chamber to a customer when it's not working 100000%. Was it because I booked my appointment via Groupon? Amazing place! They have Float, acupuncture, and other holistic wellness services. I did an introductory 3-pack of the Float, and so glad I did. The first time was a little awkward for me - I had never done Float before and so had never been in a Float pod before. Took me a little to get used to. The 2nd and 3rd time around was great! Although I had a less-than-pleasant check-in experience (later learned it was the staff member's first day!) I totally enjoyed my first float session and left feeling like a relaxed, weightless goddess. I really appreciated the ambiance and how sparkling clean the facilities were. I do not recommend this location or business to anyone. Yesterday was my birthday and booked a duo session for myself (Sara) and my other half, John. For a service, we paid for in an environment that is supposed to relax you, and a birthday gift, instead we received an experience that was not only stressful, unpleasant but traumatic. Below are bullet-pointed facts and observations about the events of our booking yesterday. - upon arrival, I was offered water John was not. - John was very nervous about floating but excited - The stressful receptionist with curly gray hair exclaimed "we give a $100 gift card to anyone who drowns in a float". While this seemed like a joke we did not find this funny. If either of us had a fear of drowning we would have walked right out the door - one tank had a lightbulb malfunction that caused a delay in our 3:30 pm start time - this same receptionist during her explanation took 10 minutes to walk us through what to do. Her directions were very unclear and confusing. Instead of guiding us with protocol and what to do she was giving us an elaborate story of her experience - we were puzzled. - After using the facilities, the same receptionist then personally rushed me inside prior to taking my shower and float. While she did not literally push me in the room her energy was highly pushy, stressful, and confusing. As she was personally closing my door she exclaimed I am cutting into my float time. I was inquisitive and trying to clarify I asked if we would not get our full hour her response was " Yes, I already started your clock so you need to hurry". She started the clock before we finished using the bathroom. - Due to this high stressful energy, I am consumed with not having enough time to float, and this added unnecessary stressful energy occupied my experience during my float - Inside my tank, my float continued to be stressful. My motion light never turned off. I hit every button and nook inside the tank and but nothing worked. Music never played during or when it was time to exit, and it had a strange musty odor. Since our instructions were confusing I did not know that a cleaning ritual meant it was time to get out of the tank, because I did not hear any exit music I thought it was apart of the float. This cleaning ritual happened twice and I got out because my other half frantically opened the door to my tank. I had gone 30 min over. - During this 30 min time that John was waiting presented his traumatic experience. He was unaware of what was happening or not happening from a failure of communication. John relayed to me that he noticed a different receptionist (nice with brown hair) pace back and forth, make a phone call, then got keys to open the door. He started to worry about my safety. No one was communicating with him until she called him over and was ready to open the door. She said that I am not responding and that she knows CPR. While yes I was safe his heart dropped to the pit of his stomach consumed with the possibility that I was dead. Premeditative by the previous " joke" made by the receptionist with gray hair. - my other half thankfully had a good float experience inside his tank - After I took my ending shower. The nice receptionist was cleaning up, I went to share my feedback and experience inside and outside of the tank with her. She then exclaimed she would present my feedback to the manager and was sorry. It sounded like this stressful receptionist had received complaints before. - bottom line we paid for a relaxing service that we did not receive. Plus my birthday present ruined. No offer was made to accommodate this overall horrible experience. Would like to speak with a manager about this. Sincerely hope another guest does not experience what we did. I went here with a Gilt City voucher for 1 hour float therapy session. Really wasn't sure what it was going into it, but when I arrived it was a clean, calm spa environment with very friendly and helpful staff. A girl took me into the room and explained the whole process to me before hand. Once you're in there you just have to find what's comfortable for you and let yourself relax. It was a very interesting experience and a nice hour of quiet meditation, once i was done I showered off and left feeling refreshed. I don't think I would make this part of my regular routine, but definitely something to check out. It seemed like a lot of people visit regularly and really see results from it! read more

I have always enjoyed these in the past, but not at this place. The room smelled gross, almost like sweaty feet. The tank was also way too hot. I couldn't even slightly open the door because if I did, the door would swing fully open and the lights would shine in your eyes. I recommend finding a different place (unfortunately ) read more

I had an incredible experience floating with Infinity Float. I have floated at multiple sensory deprivation centers before moving to NYC. I initially tried floating at other float centers in NYC and I can honestly say that Infinity Float is truly the best in the city. The float tanks are spacious with enough room to stretch out fully. I never get the feeling of being claustrophobic inside the float tank. I use floating as a hard reset during a busy, hectic week and floating is the perfect solution. The staff was very kind and helpful in explaining everything. You can tell that Infinity Float cares about their customers to make sure everything is perfect with their experience. 10/10 I would recommend this float center to friends, family, and everyone in the NYC area. read more

I really wanted to try floating after watching a Simpson's episode where Homer and Lisa do float therapy together. My experience was pleasant: the staff was very accommodating and nice. I was in a bit of a hurry to make another appointment right after my session and the girl at the front desk was nice enough to let me start a bit earlier. When you enter the water, you're suddenly aware of all your cuts! I had been scratching my back a few hours prior to my session and I immediately felt stinging there. I suggest putting Vaseline (provided to you by Infinity Float) all over your hands and cuticles to avoid any stinging even if you are not aware of having any cuts there. For the first 30 minutes, I had a very calm and relaxing experience. However, I started getting antsy after about 30 minutes and ended up getting water into my eyes, which stung A LOT! Tip: Do not try to rub your eyes if you get water in there! The reason why I gave this experience 2 stars is because like another Yelper mentioned, THE CHAMBER IS NOT SOUNDPROOF! I heard people walking and talking, which completely ruined my experience. I was not able to find any stillness or meditate because there was constant noise. Being immersed in the water only amplifies peoples voices and steps. Infinity float needs to figure out a way to block out noise so floaters can have a better experience. read more

I came to Infinity Float on a Groupon deal and had a mixed experience with the process. The spa only has one floating tank so my friend and I scheduled our floats back-to-back. I had the first appointment on the Saturday we went and arrived about the 15 minutes early that they ask of you. When I got to to studio, no one answered the buzzer or the phone. It was a chilly day so that was a little frustrating and made me frazzled before going in to float. Uzuri, texted me a few minutes after designated start of my appointment and explained that her train was late and she was running a bit behind. As a person who is frequently late, I could understand that. When Uzuri got there she got everything set up and ready for me quickly. we ended up starting about 20 minutes after my time. There was a good orientation to the room and tank itself, I didn't feel like I had any questions. . The tank itself was very warm and comfortable, floating on the water is a really interesting experience and I did feel relaxed when I finished. I sat with a cup of tea in the waiting room after I finished. The room was very well equipped with everything you would need for the float and after including earplugs, towels, shampoo etc. As others have mentioned, this is not a sound proof chamber. I was lucky that I had the first appointment and it was a quiet Saturday. I did hear as people walked by the room and could hear my friend enter the studio before her appointment. Overall, it was a good experience, if you've been thinking about trying a sensory deprivation chamber this is convenient for those who live in Manhattan, shoot for an early morning appointment. This is a serious 5/5! I've floated in multiple locations and this one has been the best. There are no pods only rooms. So we're already off to a great start. Everyone I came in contact with REALLY practiced what they preached. Even the manager floats! She's so chill, super accommodating, even helped me wrap my finger I cut open that morning. (I'll tell you the pain helped me release deeper.) the other two women I came into contact with were real healers. All smiles, positive interactions, and knowledgeable. Seriously a great place. They also have natural medicines there so if you have a stomach ache they can take that ways for you. Cannot hype this place up enough. Give it a try if you have any inkling too. read more

This was my first float ever. I would absolutely do it again, but not in a place where you hear the loud, pounding sounds of what I believe were footsteps on the hardwood floor and furniture being moved around upstairs. Honestly, this is supposed to be a sensory deprived hour and apparently the tanks aren't soundproof... It was brutal. Also, when booking online you're given a choice of two float tanks. I chose the "blue one." When I arrived I heard the receptionist say, "just give him the white one..." Perhaps there was a good reason, but that would seem to defeat the purpose of giving the guest a choice when booking... Lastly, I was told by a truly empathetic hostess at the end that I would be hearing from a supervisor and that my experience was not a good first impression. I waited a few days, no email from a supervisor, just an auto email to write this review... so I did. read more

But the worst thing I realized is that they don't change the water between floaters ... all they do is 'filter' it. I was on vacation in NYC and my friend who lives there set up float sessions for us. I was super excited, 1) because it's such a unique thing that I'd never heard of and 2) I have trouble quieting my mind & relaxing so I was excited to give this a try. The woman who explained the process to us was very nice and gave us great pointers on how to get the most of our experience. I took a shower & put ear plugs in before entering the float suite. The personal pool is 10" deep with 800 pounds of Epsom salts in it!! Once I laid back I was completely floating! There was a soft blue light illuminating the suite and white twinkle lights on the ceiling. Soft relaxing music played for the 1st 10 minutes then it was completely quiet. I also turned the lights off after about 5 minutes. After a few minutes I was so relaxed that I couldn't even feel my body! It was the most relaxing experience I've ever had. I was skeptical that I would be able to quiet my mind and last for a whole hour in the water but the relaxation completely took over my mind and body. I felt super relaxed the entire day. I've felt detoxified ever since my float session. I highly recommend this to everyone. I will definitely do this again next time I'm in NYC. read more

Blown away by the impact the float session had on my body. I usually workout several times each week, and the older I get the seemingly more sore I am each morning and during the day while sitting at work. I frequently go for massages and to a chiropractor to get adjusted every now and then. After an hour in the float, I literally had -0- soreness and felt as though I could run a marathon. The healing aside, it was perhaps the most relaxing hour I had spent in the last 5-years. The chamber is dark and sound proof and within 5 minutes or so when the initial music dies off, you can pretty much feel yourself breathe and your heart beat. I'm definitely looking forward to my next session, and making this a key part of dealing with stress relief, as well as for my training and workout recovery process. read more
