If you want to try Reiki for migraines or trauma healing, I cannot recommend this place enough. I went for a 90 minute Reiki session and sound bath. There are no words for what I experienced. I did my first session after a friend said it was the only thing that worked for curing her migraines. That sounded dramatic to me. I was not only getting migraines, but I was diagnosed with a neurological condition last year that affects my vision because of the migraines and it's been a challenging year. I've also been unable to take a full breath for over a year. I felt a tight knot in my diaphragm FOR. OVER. A. YEAR. I've tried a lot of medication, physical therapy for tissue massages, a chiropractor to align my brain stem, and I spent a lot of money. I took my friend's advice and figured I had nothing to lose by finding a Reiki healer. I figured, the worse that could happen is I spend a lot of money to feel relaxed. But after my reiki session, I CAN BREATH. FULL, DEEP AMAZING BREATHS. I couldn't even yawn before. I don't mean I got relaxed enough to take a deep breath, something actually happened to me that changed me physically. I can't explain it. The night after my session, I wrote some letters the way she instructed me to and while I was writing the negative stuff, I felt pressure increasing in my head. As I got to the positive, I could feel the pressure lifting. I cannot explain how bizarre this is, as someone whose migraines debilitate me. I do a lot of journaling, so it wasn't just my writing. It was the entire process clearing my body in this really odd way that I can't explain. I haven't had a migraine since. Afterwards I meditated and had a literal yawning attack. I would also get head pressure anytime I worked out and it is gone. My workout feels incredible because I can breath deeply and my sleep has been deep, restful sleep. It's been a week and I'll see how this evolves, but this week I have been SO hopeful and so grateful for the relief. I feel like I understand my part in my illness differently. I wanted to believe Reiki could work, but I didn't believe it would be as impactful as it's been. I don't know how it works, or what exactly happened and I don't even care. She never claimed she could cure anything, she just did her work and I could not be more grateful. I wish insurance recognized alternative therapies because I've spent a lot of their (and my own) money trying to get this under control. So incredibly thankful.

On this one, I can't say I'm convinced it does anything. Sure, the overall space is nice and 'zen'. The salt room itself, very 'pretty' with all the various white/ivory/peach/pink/coral/orange shades of the salt walls. The feeling of salt crystals under your bare feet? Nice. Relaxing chairs to sit in. But at the end of the 30 minute session, did I feel anything special beyond the fact that I just 'relaxed' in a pretty room for 30 minutes? No. Note that the salt room can also hold up to three clients at a time, which means they have the potential to charge up to $87 for three people, for just a 30-minute period. That's $174 per hour for a room that's filled with salt. Where no personal or hands-on service is provided...just clients 'sitting' in a room. I guess they also disperse 'saline aerosol' into the room while you are sitting in there. I'm not exactly sure what that is, or how it's supposed to be beneficial to you but then it begs the question...is it the saline aerosol that benefits you and/or some type of 'energy' that is supposed to come from the salt itself in the room? I don't know...I just have to wonder if this salt room thing is nothing more than an (unproved) trend that they are going to milk for all it's worth, until the next wellness trend comes along. When I first arrived and was eventually directed to the room, even though they knew it was my first time there, I was given no real direction or expectation...just told to go on in the room. (Typically you'd expect some type of introductory language...'we pipe saline aerosol into the room...this provides XYZ, etc'). I also found it odd that at the end of the 30-minute session, the woman working the desk simply came to the room and opened the door without warning. No knock, no 'bell' to let me know the session was over...just her, suddenly opening the door. (Typically at personal service places like that, they would knock on the door first, or ask if it's ok to enter, and especially considering I was in the room all alone, i.e., maybe I was in the middle of taking a weird selfie when she just opened the door?) Maybe next time I'll give the infrared sauna a try and see how that goes...but as for the salt room and just sitting in there, I don't think I'd spend my money on that again. It so happens that at the time, I was starting to feel quite sick with a bad cold. Other reviews here seemed to suggest they felt 'relief' from a cold. I felt no difference in anything, after my salt room session.

Once I made it past that first time, each time got better. I prefer the white room over the blue room, and both technically do the same thing. You can choose between no lights, starry ceiling, with or w/o music. I've done w/stary lights and music...completely dark...and then dark w/music...each one a different experience. I was immediately welcomed by Maddie at the front desk who confirmed my name & informed me my room (Blue) was ready. She suggested I hit the restroom before my hour float and then returned to give me some quick information about the sensory controls inside the float space (ear plugs, light/Star & sound options, etc). Then the glorious hour was all mine. You strip, shower & carefully step into the float room (8-10" deep). Make your sensory adjustments and off you go! Your mind does the rest. About 20-25 minutes in I forgot where my limbs were or that I had them...my imagination started running (I had sound & blue light on and mostly eyes closed). I saw organic shapes & moving flower type shapes with feminine faces emerging from each one followed by a series of uncommon floating terrains and then just a drifting twilight consciousness. Never asleep though. All in all pretty wonderful & definitely an experience I'll have again in the near future.

I've only tried the float therapy here so far. The float rooms are located in the bottom floor down this very steep staircase, but inside it is nearly completely soundproof (or as soundproof as one can get in the middle of Midtown...). The experience is very relaxing, as you get a huge private room to shower and then float in. The tubs are also really big so you don't feel claustrophobic. I appreciate the amenities as well, like lotion and little packets of Vaseline to cover up cuts. You get plenty of time to shower before and after your appointment so you do not feel rushed at all. Staff is very knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. They do not try to upsell you on stuff and kind of just leave you to do your own thing, which I really appreciate.

First, it was uncomfortably crowded and there are ZERO staff members available to help near the locker room area. When I requested help because I was struggling with my locker, the woman at the front desk literally said "what do you want me to do about it?" And actually waited in silence for me to muster up an answer, despite genuinely having no clue what she should do about it because I didn't know if it was me or the locker! This ordeal took 30 minutes to resolve between looking for staff upstairs and then going to ask for nonexistent help downstairs twice. I felt belittled, disrespected and frustrated and even as I'm typing this I'm still shocked that this even happened. Ironically, there is a sign at check in that says if you have a concern, just talk to us instead of leaving a bad review... So I voiced my frustration about losing 40 minutes of paid time over an issue that could've been resolved in a couple minutes and the worker didn't even stop walking while I was talking to her! She continued to walk away with her back to me and yelled over her shoulder that because everyone gets extra 30 minutes of locker time padded in, it didn't matter. Other observations: Some of the amenities don't work and look visibly broken. Views were beautiful, pools were warm, seating areas (while not abundant) were nice. The drinks and food options are expensive, but good. The menu is also outdated & not sure why that wouldn't be an easy thing to correct. There are only 3 showers on the women's top floor - not enough for how crowded it was. You need your credit card to make purchases, but robes don't have pockets... Also, you have to wear a wrist band with a QR code, so idk why this couldn't just be linked to your account/card. Stairways are confusing, maps should probably be provided at check in. This place has beauty to it & you can still have fun here, I would just avoid staff interaction as much as possible.
