Inside the lamb pasty
April S.

We happened upon this place but found them closed, so we made a note of their hours and stopped by the following week. We bought two of each meat pasty and the breakfast pasty. Then we ordered a lemon bar, two cherry turnover, an apple turnover, and a brownie bar (for real, with crust). Everything is flavorful and not too salty or sweet (you'll taste those cherries!). Our favorites were the lamb and pork pasties. The chicken pot pie is nice but too loaded with peas for my daughter. The beef pasty has a subtle hamburger flavor. My fam also enjoyed the house pasty sauce and BBQ sauce that are side options if you'd like. These pasties are BIG, like two meals or feed two people big. The turnovers are reasonable size but the pasties are large, so don't be deterred by the price if you're afraid you're not going to get your money's worth--plus it's made with local raised meats and organic veggies. I would say a worthy place to stock the freezer for warm fall/winter meals or a h*ckin' choice for an impromptu PNW picnic.

Don't eat here. If you do, you will become addicted to their pies, eat far too many of them and forever have a freezer full of more should you ever get hungry again. Holly is super friendly and can be found in the shop often, taking your order and helping you decide which flavors you can't live without. She has another shop in Bellingham which may be helpful since you simply can't find anything comparable anywhere at any price.

Vegetarian - mushroom, potato, peas, celery, etc. reheated from frozen at home. So delicious!

I drive over an hour to get these pies. The beef pies are my favorite but honestly, I love all flavors. Enjoy!

These things are good! Great business, too. Truly the only downside is the limited hours but that's not a star removal.

The bar tenders were fantastic and attentive, and the prohibition era cocktails were great! The dining room was elegant yet cozy, with great lighting. The staff was also very friendly and our waiter was very helpful in aiding our choice. We ordered the Focaccia bread, the salmon momtadito and the tonnarelli as our entree. The focaccia was the only dissapointing item as it was very basic in my opinion, which isn't bad but just nothing exciting to write about. The appetizer, the salmon montadito, was probably my favorite item of the night. It was served on focaccia bread and drizzled with a truffle honey butter and sat upon a mascarapone yogurt. It was elegant and it was incredibly flavorful. The sweetness of the truffle honey butter was a great contrast to the salmon itself, and all melted together to make an exceptional appetizer. The tonnarelli was a pasta dish we split and was also very tasty. The pasta itself was a thicker spaghetti like pasta served with plenty of crab. It was tasty and it satisfied and I'd likely order it again as I will be back when my sister's visit. All in all, a great restaurant to spend a nice night right in the heart of Bellingham!

Meaning I actually chose to be seated inside. Staff were wonderful as ever--new people to me this time: helpful and charming servers, Maysen and David, and excellent barkeep, Marko. The beverages were top notch as ever. I didn't find an old favorite on the menu, so I asked about a drink they used to have into which they infused magically with actual oiled smoke of some sort. I don't know if I ended up with that, but they brought me the Seasmoke which was so extraordinary. I loved the dry Black Cherry Cider and one other whose name I don't recall (blond...and a little citrusy nice). Truffle fries were nice. Kale Caesar Salad is scrumptious. I couldn't resist adding some of their fabulous crispy chicken. You get a supremely generous amount of chicken for a bargain--I ended up with extra for dinner. Terrific place. Glad I happened by...

Service was standard. Not a fault of the restaurant but I tried to make reservations around 5:50ish and it told me no wait come on in. Arrived at 6:15 and was told there was a 40 minute wait. That's okay we walked through Maritime Park where the salmon were supposedly running but headed back due to safety concerns. However during daylight if there is a wait would be a good place to walk.

I have been coming to this restaurant since I was a young boy, attending special family dinners or just going to get pizza after soccer practice. Now well into adulthood I still find myself coming here with my wife for an excellent dining experience, any time or day of the week. This week we decided to go in for brunch, and I couldn't think of a better place to spend a dreary Washington morning. When you walk into this cozy little restaurant the smells of fresh breads and fried potatoes invite you into an elevated breakfast experience. Our hostess sat us down at a table almost immediately with the same friendly smile and welcoming attitude that I have come to expect from the staff at the fork. After sitting down and sipping of fresh squeezed orange juice we ordered two of our favorite breakfast plates. Chicken Fried Steak, and Corned Beef Hash. The Corned Beef Hash consisted two poached eggs sitting on a heaping pile of shredded corned beef that was both crispy and tender. Typically this dish is served with peppers and onions, but on this trip my wife opted out and the chef was happy to oblige our request. I can say from prior experiences that the peppers and onions are a fantastic addition to this mix. I went with the Chicken fried steak. A classic breakfast that requires a large appetite to face on your own! The cube steak was breaded and fried with the traditional seasonings, then covered in a house made gravy that was so rich and flavorful I couldn't put my fork down. I ordered mine with over medium eggs that were cooked perfectly, something that other kitchens can rarely get right. If you are a fan of Chicken Fried Steak then you must try this one! Both of our plates came with a large portion of golden brown home fries, and a fluffy biscuit served with honey butter and a peach preserve. Our server was extremely nice and very attentive. Although the restaurant was fairly busy she made sure our every need was taken care of :) I once again left the fork feeling full, and extremely satisfied. If the doors to this amazing restaurant are open, I will definitely be coming back again and again.

The Burrata Peach Salad and Gems Salad were both delicious. A couple of the fresh oysters were a bit mushy. The Pan Seared Lamb Chops were cooked just right (medium rare) and the pickled blackberries offered an interesting twist. I'm told the Hamburger and French Dip were also very good.
