If it were possible to leave 10 stars I would. I have been searching for a particular gun since 2018 when they first came out and were legal in CA. Today I called this business for the first time, and I am simply blown away (no pun intended). This is a "one man show" business (like mine is), and Courtland (the owner) wears all hats. Of course you must make an appointment (like most other gun stores since the China virus arrived), but I would imagine this is Courtland's regular policy, as is THE only guy. Although I have not yet purchased from him, this will be my exclusive gun shop from now until if or when I leave CA. As you speak with Courtland you immediately recognize that he is extremely knowledgeable (as you might hope since he IS the store owner), and he seems to be an extraordinarily straight shooter. If he had what I was looking for I would be there now to purchase it. But like so many other gun stores, his inventory is quite limited at the moment. However, Courtland is happy to try to locate the gun you are looking for with his 4 distributors, plus other websites like GunBroker.com, and he will notify you and order the gun the next day upon arrival. The majority of Courtland's customers seem to be in law enforcement, but he also sells to non-professionals (by appointment). When I asked him about the best personal carry semi-auto pistol he would recommend, he told me his first choice. However, when I NEXT mentioned that I MAY relocate to Arizona, he switched his recommendation to a different gun due to the fact that it could also receive a much larger magazine as compared to CA. He is also going to call all 4 of his distributors, and if they don't have one they will order it notify him once received. WOW! I have been looking for this particular gun for over 3 years, and have called numerous other stores, and this is the ONLY dealer who not only gives you the time of day, but in fact WORKS for you to help you to find what you are looking for. At this point I am happy reminded of what a similar store might look like back in Mayberry in 1966. I would imagine that this is the type of service I MIGHT expect, but never in these times! I recently purchased an M&P Shield from Courtland and have to admit that the whole experience was easy and professional. I am a Community Emergency Response Team member and heard about Hollow Point from some of the first responders I know. Be sure to call ahead as Courtland works by appointment only during the pandemic. We stopped by on the way back from a trip to Ventura and explained that we were looking for a small handgun that both myself and my wife could use. Courtland is knowledgeable and recommended the M&P since it is lightweight and has both a 7 and 8 round clip along with a smaller grip making it easier for my wife to use. We made an appointment for the following day and I stopped by and filled out the paperwork after checking out the new handgun. The price was competitive and we were also able to buy some 9mm range and home defense rounds. 10 days later when we picked everything up, Courtland had all the DROS paperwork ready to go and it was a simple in and out after a few signatures and a fingerprint. The best part is that shopping at Hollow Point is the antithesis of the typical gun store experience. I had recently visited a local gun club in Santa Clarita to pick up my FSC and after sitting outside for 45 minutes on a week day afternoon just to get inside their store, I got the typical smart-assed treatment from the self proclaimed expert (and I was only there to take the FSC written test so I can buy ammo for a shotgun I already own!). By contrast, Courtland listens to what you want and then recommends the most suitable options for what you need and then goes out and gets it for you at a very reasonable price. Hollow Point has the quality of service that you refer your friends and neighbors to. Definitely worth the drive from Santa Clarita to Thousand Oaks for us. read more

During COVID it's been pretty difficult to find firearm dealers that have any inventory or the kind of inventory they used to have before Covid. But I think there's something more important than having inventory, and that's character and the unwillingness to raise the price of Firearms and accessories just because they can. Hollow point tactical is run by Courtland, who is a real gentleman, and he is one of the rare firearm dealers that does not take advantage of opportunities to charge Higher prices when it is very easy to do. I recently bought another firearm from him. Other stores wanted ridiculously higher prices for it right here in town. The same thing is true for other firearms that I was thinking about purchasing, that I've asked what he sells them for when he gets them in and he pretty much sells everything for considerably less than I have found any of the other fire in dealers around here selling them for. You never have to worry about being overcharged or not being treated courteously or unprofessionally when you do business with Courtland.
