I have dined here 3 times and have had wonderful experience each time. I brought 3 different sets of friends and they have all said they will definitely come back. Not much has changed in the restaurant's decor from when it was Bosque and some menu items have carried over. Admittedly, I have not ventured beyond the Lavender Moon cocktail because I love it so much! And I have had the pork belly tacos 2 out of 3 visits. It is a heavy meal so come with a hearty appetite. They definitely have improved on the elote since the soft opening by using much less seasoning. The great wait staff--specifically, Monique--are friendly and attentive. From the host who went out of her way to clean another table so we could have a booth to our absolute rock star of a waitress, the service was the clear winner here. Everyone we encountered was friendly, attentive, and genuinely accommodating. The restaurant itself is clean and modern, with large tables and booths that could easily accommodate big groups. The modern artwork throughout gives the space a nice, contemporary feel. And one thing I really appreciated: the walls aren't plastered with TVs. I think there was only one large screen behind the bar, which made the atmosphere feel much more like a restaurant than a sports bar. We started with a spirits flight featuring gin, silver agave, and the 65th & Maple bourbons. Both bourbons were my favorites and honestly better than some major-label brands I've tried. I would have happily taken a bottle home, but at $60 a bottle, I decided to enjoy it by the pour instead. The house-made lager was another highlight. Very tasty and easily holds its own against some of the better local breweries. Unfortunately, the food was much more hit-or-miss. The carne asada tacos had great flavor, but the meat was a little chewy and the tortillas didn't taste particularly fresh. The chicken quesadilla was decent but nothing memorable. It probably would have benefited from some guacamole or salsa on the side, although it was on the kids' menu, so I suppose expectations should be adjusted accordingly. The biggest disappointment was the brownie sundae. The brownie tasted like a Little Debbie. There was an unmistakable preservative flavor, and definitely didn't taste fresh or house-made. Bottom line: This feels like a place to come for good drinks, a comfortable atmosphere, and a large group, rather than somewhere I'd go specifically for the food. The service, bourbon, and house lager were the standouts. If you're getting together with a crowd and drinks are the priority, I'd definitely consider coming back. read more

So excited for Hollow Spirits to be up in the Heights. They have absolutely killed it with the menu, bringing back so many of their best food options from back in the day including my favorite pork belly tacos. I also love some of the new options like the pork belly mac and cheese which is so freaking good. Happy to have a new spot to unwind on Friday night. We enjoyed their cocktails on the patio, and the drinks arrived with a little snack on the side. Service was unorganized at first but smoothed out. We moved inside to enjoy food and thought the taco plates were very generous. We took half of the food home. read more

We have been waiting for Hollow Spirits Heights to open since they announced it. The wait is over. Sitting at the old Bosque Brewery building, the place was quite familiar with the same furniture and setup. The patio is still in the works, as some people stole the fence and Hollow Spirits is rebuilding. There were a few patrons and a whole crew at 2 pm on a Sunday. The staff were attentive, very friendly, and our server even got some laughs out of us. We went with a couple of friends, so I include also their opinions in this review. Our friends ordered the Salmon BLTA and the 50/50 Burger. The hubs ordered the Fish-N-Chips. I ordered the 50/50 Burger as well with a Guava No Lava mocktail. Side fries can be any of the Fry Flight options, which is smart. The BLTA had good flavor, good size, and a very decent and yummy portion of bacon on the side. The sweet potato fries were a nice portion too. The Fish-N-Chips were ok, flakey, slightly heavy on the breading, but with flavor. The bacon fries were, unfortunately, a let down, since the bacon was like bacon bits from a container. The slaw was just vinegar cabbage, with no seasoning or flavors to make it pop. The 50/50 Burger had a thick juicy patty with a nice chorizo flavor without being spicy. The green chile gave it texture more than flavor. However it was a nice, hearty, satisfying burger. My friend liked it even more than I did. The Parmesan fries were fragrant. The lime and dill fries were regular fries with a heavy cream that was supposed to have the lime and dill flavor. It didn't. The Guava No Lava was definitely guava flavored, with fizz, mint, and sweet. I wonder if the Guava Lava tastes this good? Overall, this was a mixed bag of an experience. Great staff but the food came later than we expected. Good looking and sounding food with some inconsistencies with flavors and quality. I would like them to thrive and improve so we can keep a Hollow Spirits on the East side. read more

My book club met there. Food was good, beer was cold, service was good, place wasn't noisy. No complaints.

Ambiance was ok, nothing special. Quiet though, so we could talk. My friend and I both had turkey sandwiches and they were pretty bad. I threw half of mine away. Drinks were good. I had an old fashioned. Other friends got the fry flight and they weren't impressed. Our server was very friendly and did a good job. This place is in my neighborhood but unfortunately, I don't plan to go back. Some of the other reviews raved about this place but I was there on a Saturday night and the place was pretty dead. read more

We were really pleased that Hollow Spirits opened up in the old Bosque location. We enjoyed a cocktail and snack here. The cocktail selection looks really fun! We were very saddened to see Bosque brewery go away! With that, we decided to give Hollow spirits a try. So very glad that we did! The staff could not have been more pleasant, funny, and just simply made us feel at home. Attentive service was on point and the drinks were absolutely amazing! While we had samples, meaning a couple pints, of the local beers; we decided to maybe dabble just a bit into the spirits aspect. Despite our having to take an Uber home, we all agreed the wide variety of spirits did not leave us wanting. Knowing we should probably get something to eat we all got something different and then shared. Every plate was off the charts good! Cooked to perfection, tender, flavorful, and to those who are food, snobs, aesthetic to the eye. Before leaving, well, I'll put her heads together and determined our secret little hiding spot that we thought went away is here to remain! We will be back probably next week. read more

We have been waiting for them to open and they're finally open! Went there a couple weeks ago. The burger and fries were awesome except no pickles were available-the chef apparently "doesn't believe in pickles." ‍Beer selection is small but good: hoping they get some Bow & Arrow in there. We sat outside which was nice. Hoping they get music to come and perform-it's such a large space it would be lovely. The service was good. Looking forward to going back! read more

I want to start out on a positive note. Arianna our server was good. We ordered the Gruet brut champagne it came flat like that bottle had been open for a while. Arianna took it back to "repour" it. Brought it back in wine glasses she said they were out of champagne glasses. The champagne tasted a little better,but they probably just shook it up to make it more bubbly. We ordered the fry flight, which was fine. Nothing remarkable there. My husband ordered the salmon BLT which he said was very good. I ordered the jackfruit tacos, which is the only really vegan vegetarian thing on the menu. They tasted terrible. The jackfruit was tasteless. Told one of the servers or the hostess. I'm not sure which, that it was terrible and she said oh I'm sorry and that was it. We did order the elote for an appetizer, it could've used more Crema. Also disappointing was the three appetizers that we wanted to order the nachos chips and salsa and the green chili strips are no longer being served or going to be on the menu.Our server said.Which to me is ridiculous because it's a bar and people want bar food and nachos are staples. She said they don't make them anymore because it was too hard to make the homemade chips or some nonsense like that. While we were there, I actually heard two people ordered the green chili strips and they had to be told that they don't really make those anymore or any less. They are having their grand opening tomorrow August 7 so maybe they'll figure out some things that they need to improve on which would be great but we won't be going back or recommending this to anyone in the near future. Kind of disappointed because this is right in our neighborhood. or maybe we'll come back for drinks and eat dinner somewhere else. read more

We had great service, the variety of options for both food & beverages is wonderful. We came for lunch and were able to get in on their grand opening day. The hostess & all of the server staff are extremely professional and answered questions regarding options on their menus. This restaurant offers a variety of menu options. Their tacos & burgers are tasty. Their old fashions are one of the best in Albuquerque. Their Red96 cannot be beat. We will definitely be back to try out more of their menu with food selections. There is just too much to choose from on our first visit. This location is a great spot. read more

If I could leave, no stars I would. We arrived for a friend's birthday.We waited for a waitress. the waitress came and took my drink order. Came back with a wrong drink.It was actually something that I'm allergic to!!went back figured out that she set someone else's drink in front of me. It was Gin. I'm allergic to it!!! Instead of getting the gentleman a new drink she said that he could keep that drink that I had already drank from or I could continue to drink it. I explained to her that I was allergic to it. We went ahead and ordered food at that time 30 minutes into sitting there 10 minutes later I got my proper drink which was a vodka soda. We waited for two hours for our food... None came! I Let the manager know he said that it should be right up waited a bit longer still no food we went and approached the manager one more time and politely, but of course annoyed told him that we could no longer wait for our food and we needed our check for my one drink. He then started to explain to me that it's their soft opening. That's why things are happening the way they're happening not an apology not a yes ma'am. I'll get it for you right away. None of that. We were just met with excuses and attitude. Our waitress who was very sweet, but very bad came to check us out. I was waiting and apparently the gentleman who had not been served his drink because it had been put in front of me was having an issue with it being on his bill ( being that I had already drank from it!) I was standing behind him waiting. The manager came up told us that he would handle the drinks just to get out. then he looked at me and told me and this gentleman that our friends that had just left before us (one of them being my fiancé by the way.) had apologized for our behavior.He was scolding me for asking for my check?!?!
