Unfortunately, the person we were working with there just was really uninterested in helping us. He had said to just go online to look at the options and packages. It was like pulling teeth even just to get him to show us the shoe options next to the suit color tones. We felt like we were being rushed out and like a nuisance, maybe because you formalize the order online? But it's so hard to gauge colors on the internet and important to see swatches. We were really disappointed in the experience. The next week, my husband went to the Reston location to try for a better experience, which is just what he got. He said that location was SO helpful and much more attentive. Wouldn't recommend Fair Lakes for wedding suit rentals, but would recommend the Reston location!

I came…read moreto the store because a good friend (who lived in Fairfax) past away and I acquired his last suit that he purchased at William T. Clothiers, and I wanted to get it altered for me in his memory. While I was there I decided to get 4 customs shirts made, as my last tailor retired recently. The shirt measurement process was strange from the get go, the owner/tailor Todd put 2 sample shirts in the dressing room. He stated 1 was for tighter fit, and 1 was for a looser fit. But didn't tell which one was which, so I put on the closest one to me. Todd then started asking me about how I wanted the length/width and such and started to measure me. Then we started to go over shirt patterns and fabrics, and I started to pick out patterns/fabrics/cuffs/collars pretty standard stuff. BTW, once this process started I never did try on the other sample shirts and he never mentioned for me to do so. After all the measuring was finished the pricing came, and OMG it was crazy expensive! The 4 shirts came to an average of $323.75 each, wow. All of my suits, jackets, dress pants, and dress shirts in the last 20 years have been custom tailored as I am an oddly shaped person. I know custom clothing is expensive, but the most I've ever paid for a shirt was about $200, but I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered the shirts as I need a closet refresh. After a few days I got a message that 2 of the shirt designs were not available, so I had to basically let Todd pick the new colors/designs. About 4ish weeks later my shirts were ready for pickup, I was excited to see how the expensive shirts looked. When I tried on the 4 shirts, they were so tight that I was really taken aback. It was like his tape measure or eyesight was not working properly, they were so ill fitting. So all 4 shirts had to be completely reorder, and low and behold another color/design was not available again. That makes 3 of the 4 colors/designs picked out ended up unavailable. Well I picked up the 4 shirts yesterday, 5 months after my original order/measurement. Another bothersome thing with this tailor/Todd is that I ended up in that shop approximately 8 times, and Todd was only there 2 times. He as some nice whiskey displayed in the shop, never did he offer any to me. He knew how upset I was, and didn't even have the decency to be present when I finally pick up my shirts yesterday. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this tailor, there are so many tailors to choose from in the DC area to deal with this tailors crazy high prices, and awful customer service. The shirts are good quality, but this quality can be had for half the price.

The first pair I ever bought were in Prague, CZ because I didn't pack enough socks for my 10 day European extravaganza. We must take care of our feet cause we only get one pair. Good shoes and good socks are worth the little extra you might pay for quality. You can get a 10 pack of these socks for $14.99 and they will last you.

When I came in for the return, she didn't seem happy about it--even though it was still within the return window, the tags were still on, and there was no sign of the items having been worn or taken out of the bag. At first she was looking for an expiration date on the receipt. Once she saw it was still within the time limit, she started processing the return. The items were on multiple receipts, so she said she would do it as one transaction and that I should return everything at once. Up to that point I had no issue; I returned the items. As I was about to walk out of the store, I had a feeling that the amount I received didn't match what I had originally paid. This had happened to me before at the same store--items had gone on sale and they refunded the sale price instead of what I actually paid. I caught it in time last time and got my full money back. So I went back to the line to double-check. I understand it was Saturday around 3 p.m. and the employees were tired. I waited for her to finish with the customer she was helping, then politely explained that I felt this might have happened again and asked if we could verify that the refund matched my receipt exactly. Before calling the manager, she started recording our conversation on her phone without my knowledge. That part was super creepy. Then a manager (a guy with a gold ring in his nose) came over. I explained politely again what I was concerned about, and he said they had paid me the same amount that was on my receipt. I was so annoyed that they had been recording me without my consent that I decided to just leave and double-check the numbers at home. Luckily, everything was correct this time. But I will not go back and deal with that rude cashier or manager again. They've got zero in customer care!

My apologies for forgetting the young man's name, who worked hard, to prove that last pair of shoes was in the shop! That was really good service. The problem with Vans shoes, is that they don't last long. Their prices have gone up significantly. If quality showed, I'd be sort of okay with that. Yet their shoes even without extensive effort, can be worn out rather quickly. Are they the worst shoes? Not at all, plus some of them are stylish. It's an opinion, but there are better brands to choose from.

This is a new JCrew that just opened I think a week ago…read more Funny story: I walk into the store and see a plethora of spring colors (makes me happy doopdoopdoop), and I pick up a spring straw hat that I was interested in for my upcoming vacations...trying it on in one of the full length mirrors...and note: even though I have been walking around for a good 5 minutes now, not a single person has acknowledged me yet or even said hi. I'm trying on the hat..and this asian girl walks past the mirror and smiles at me, I politely smile back and IMMEDIATELY turn around! It's my girlfriend and she works there. Funny thing is, she still hadn't recognized me because of my 10 inches shorter hairstyle and with the straw hat on! She just started when the store opened and she's the store's only personal shopper! What a small world! She was working with a bunch of customers and picking out cute items. The store is already slightly starting to get messy though and I can't say this is one of my favorite Jcrew stores yet, but I'll give them some time to get their stuff together :) definitely going back to visit my friend though! Many places are or have followed suit. Still from what I have seen this lines are long and merchandise is going fast. Yes, you can buy the mannequin and do what Eminem did in his song 3AM. Catch lyrics too. I do see some clothing that might look good on other people, it's not my style. What is more important is that I am seeing people going...almost going back to the way things were before the Coronavirus Pandemic. I think people are washing their hands more now. I am glad i got to see this place before it closed.

Sometimes it is disheartening coming into the store that does not have a lot of clothes to browse through and hoping for something new to buy and wear. They do keep their place clean and organized. Service - Was alright. I did not like the fact that there was no immediate help when I was at the cash register. Was not overly thrilled with their assistance. I asked one of the associates if a certain product was one of the items on sale, and stated no. Fine, so then my next question was to see if they had a different size. The person hesitated for a bit, and felt begrudged to look in the back of the store for different size. Price - They had deals on certain items. I only go to BR when I have a coupon on hand. Otherwise, the clothes are pricey! I have another BR store that I would go to, this is not the place I want to enter into again.
