This is definitely a two star experience. It's a very old building that they did remodel, maybe four or five years ago, but they have not kept up with it and it's age is already showing the beds are ancient. I can feel the springs as I sleep. the TVs are from 2010 and so thick they don't even work with the mounts because they're so heavy mine just leans over and faces the floor. Breakfast is fairly deplorable with nothing really appetizing, but this is standard kind of for these type of hotels. Customer service is ok as long as you don't interrupt them watching TV out in the foyer while they wait for you to come in, then rush to the desk or on their phones. The exterior looks terrible as well. This is definitely deserving of two stars and I won't be staying here again when I come back. forgot to mention my coworker that staying here his room started to leak the other day when there was a storm and they basically told him to come down and get towels and clean it up himself. This weekend I booked a reservation for a double suite room at one of your hotels in Plainview Texas. I don't even know where to begin on how disappointed and dissatisfied I was with the experience. I typically book through Priceline, not sure if that's where everything went wrong or it was the hotel personnel. But right away everything was off, I will provide pictures of what was wrong but I will start off saying the room that was given to us was not a double suite room it was a king suit. Leaving my son sleeping on the floor during our stay. I attempted multiple times to have the room changed and the staff refused and only provided us with bedding to put on the floor for him. They said our room was a double suite. It was not. Second, the shampoo and conditioner bottles were out of their spot, the faucet to the tub was not securely placed and the door just looked unkept. I spent 580.00 for a 2 day/3 night stay for my child to end up sleeping on the floor during this stay. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with how the staff handled the situation and the upkeep of the room. As a frequent guest at a holiday inn this is by far the worst one I have ever stayed in. read more

Ok. Here's the deal. The place is older. Yes that have some unsightly things. Like broken molding and rust stains in the tub. Yes the place is nearing its service end but THE STAFF and service is impeccable. Even with COVID guidelines the breakfast is excellent. They're doing all they can to make and keep everyone safe. I appreciate that. The beds are comfy and the linens clean. This is the reason you pay more. The comfort factor. You won't be disappointed. read more

My spent one night in this hotel and it was a nightmare. They put us be in two rooms by a door that ended up being locked. Any time we went outside, we had to run around the entire building. We told the staff and they got locked out of the same door (we guess it was broken). We finally got in our rooms, and we noticed the gross bathtubs. We originally thought it was human waste and couldn't bring ourselves to shower. We told the staff and showed them pictures and told us we should talk to a manager in the morning. Night crew: 4.5 stars We got up and had breakfast. The breakfast was plentiful and hot. We didn't get a name, but the attendant working the breakfast was prompt and professional. Breakfast- 5 stars When we checked out in the morning, we dropped by the front to tell them what happened and Norma (who said she was the manager) asked me if I was checking out. I said, "yes". She said, "Well, you're all done". I told her I still had that key cards and I needed to turn them in and tell a a manager about the previous night. I told her I had two concerns. I told her about the door and she just walked away. She came back and coughed on me (she didn't bother covering her mouth). Thanks for that. She came back a few minutes later. I told her I had a second concern and she said "oh, the showers? Yeah, they are all like that. Norma was rude and wasn't professional. On my way out the front door, she just looked at me. I wasn't given a "thanks for coming" or a "come back soon". Morning crew- 1 star I just thought you all should know what the showers look like. read more

This hotel is probably the best in Plainview. However the best does not mean that you should expect excellence. Pros: - The hotel is right off of the express way & also next to Wal-Mart, the location is great. - The booking was seamless via their website - Check in was quick - Check out was quick - Staff was nice Other - In my observation, most of the staff wears mask Cons - The beds have a spring mattress - There is a dingy smell in the room - The restrooms could be upgraded - The bath tub has rust Overall, this hotel could use some improvements but it's probably the best it can do. read more

After a long drive, nothing beats a good night's stay at a nice hotel. The Holiday Inn Express in Plainview fills the bill. It's located right off the highway and RIGHT next to a Walmart! Double-score! The staff there is friendly, helpful, and good about showing you where everything is and what you need to know for your stay. The hotel is not new; that was apparent in the room we stayed in. While very clean, it could stand some updating. Water pressure was a little low and finding a good outlet to plug in mobile devices was challenging - all of the ones in the lamp fixtures were loose, so would not make a clean connection. However, the beds are very comfortable, the a/c works well, the fridge was cold and the hot water was hot. If they would just invest a little in satellite service instead of.... whatever that is they're using for the limited channels they get..... this might've added a fourth star. Breakfast is the usual HIE fare. I always look forward to the "Xerox pancakes" machine but this one needed to be refilled and it wasn't happening anytime soon. The young lady tending to the food there seemed overwhelmed. Three of the four coffee dispensers were empty (thank God there was still some in the fourth!). But, I was good with a veggie omelette, sausage patty, and a toasted bagel to make a tasty breakfast sandwich. Price is pretty comparable, but we were able to use our points for the stay. So, all-in-all, not a bad stay and sufficient enough that would could get a good sleep and get back on the road in no time the next morning. read more

Once again Holiday Inn Express did not live up to my expectations. I understand that there is a remodel happening and my room was recently renovated. They are putting lipstick on a pig. The details matter. The room is bland with check the box furniture. Still no USB power options, loose tv cord that was stretched to an outlet 10 feet away, the shower was not replaced and the drain was rusty and nasty, they used a blanket or sheet as curtains and tied it with a strip of ribbon, etc etc... I have to put this hotel chain in the same category as Best Western or Choice hotels. Enough said. IHG executives clearly don't stay at their own hotels. These fixes are so easy. Pay attention. Who paints a wall then uses the same outlet covers that are stained yellow and from the early 90's? I'm out. read more

I stayed here for 5 nights for a business trip. I was really disappointed in this Holiday Inn property. 4 of my 5 mornings, I had no hot water, just ice cold freezing water... I spoke to the front desk staff twice but never heard back from management. I had a dead cockroach on my bathroom floor that was ignored by cleaning staff and the carpets throughout the hotel and rooms are dirty and dingy. On the plus side, the wifi worked. read more

A huge shot out to Shelly and Brie for being soooo nice and helpful in my time of crisis!! My car broke down on I-27 just south of Plainview. The officers told me this Holiday Inn Express was the place to stay. My daughter and I had 2 large dogs with us.... The hotel is under renovation but still open. I had to stay 2 nights while the car was repaired and had to stay in 2 different rooms. Both were extremely comfortable ( and I stayed at a 5 star hotel in Houston just 2 months ago). The AC was VERY cold just like I need it to be!!! The breakfast was better than any free breakfast I've had ( and I frequently don't eat the free breakfasts because they are so poor) The bed and pillows are as good at the 4 Seasons hotel!! "It's better to ask forgiveness than permission" should never be a companies motto. We have stayed at this location every year for years and never had a problem. But tonight you blew it. The room which we reserved weeks ago was just given to another person because they wanted to stay an extra night?!?! You should have let them know you would be happy to accommodate them in a different room since that one was already reserved. Instead, you move us and all we get is an "I'm sorry" and lousy wi-if that kicks us off every 5 minutes so we have to re-enter the password?!?! We've been loyal to Holiday Inn for over 12 years and this specific location for almost 5. But we will no longer stay at this location and it's questionable if we will ever stay at a Holiday Inn again. So very disappointed. Shame on you Holiday Inn. You can try to revamp your look with fancy commercials on YouTube, but the power of social media is stronger. You need to shape up! read more

Holiday inn has always been my second choice hotel after the Marriott chain. I have not been disappointed till my stay here. Went to the fitness room to find nothing working so decided to go for a swim only to find the pool was closed. They said I could go to the local gym but their keys were all checked out. Was there on business and it's nice to work out and swim afterwards. Oh well this hotel will remain on the bottom of my list. They should have offered a discounted rate rather then a sorry. read more
