You feel like they're welcoming you into their home. There's a large variety of coffees, teas, lattes, etc. I always get plain coffee with cream. It might seem boring among all the fancy choices, but as far as I'm concerned, you can't improve on perfect and a simple cup of bold coffee with cream. The Night Owl also offers some delicious desserts made in house.

So, I looked and thought of what I might enjoy and pleased to share I found so many things. Hard to decide what to buy this visit. Will plan a return visit soon for the wide selection of items and friendly staff. Thanks for a delightful visit to your store.

As far as interstate rest stop facilities go, this place is as good if not better than most…read more The restrooms (and I am speaking only for the Women's here) are fairly new, well maintained/stocked and warm enough. There are not paper towel dispensers, just hand dryers, but for me that's a plus because of environmental and cleanliness benefits. The big plus about this place is it gets pretty barren out here in the "badlands" of West Texas and this place is definitely a quick, free and clean restroom oasis between Lubbock and Amarillo.

This is the ONLY true rest area on I-27 from Amarillo to Midland (there are picnic areas that don't…read morehave bathrooms). The Hale County Safety Rest Area has multiple bathrooms for both genders, in addition to picnic areas on the side. But like most business & municipal entities during these post-apocalyptic years, staffing issues still create problems. Sometimes the bathrooms are open, and sometimes they aren't. Sometimes there is toilet paper and soap readily available, and sometimes not. My experience during my return trip to Lubbock via Amarillo was better than past visits, yet I didn't have soap to wash my hands (thank you, car hand sanitizer). I'm years past, the lack of basic bathroom amenities was alarming. Nonetheless, this rest stop is always fairly chill in stopping at, resting up for a bit, and then proceeding either towards I-20 or northbound I-40. Yet if you really have to use the bathroom to drop a deuce, I highly recommend bringing your own toilet paper + soap- this rest area may not have it available. And when drying your hands, step outside and let the wind air dry them for you (they aren't going to have paper towels or a working air dryer either).
