Super friendly attendant. He explained all the different types of wood and their qualities. I got some citrus logs for a camping trip and was happy with the low smoke this wood burning presents. Prices excellent, competitive and scaled. Overall a Five Star experience purchasing wood at Holiday Firewood. read more

¼ cord of wood delivered by Luis in an hour! If you're new to the lumber game, make sure you have purchased a storage rack before delivery :) Wow and thank you! read more

We ordered and paid for 1/2 cord of firewood (4' x 4' x 4'). When the delivery truck arrived, the firewood was loose in the bed of the truck, not in racks, but the driver told me it had been measured before it went in the truck. It looked a little light but there's always some variance and I was willing to take his word for it. After I re-stacked and measured it, I discovered that what was delivered was half the amount it should've been (4' x 4' x 2' - see 'First delivery' photo). I immediately texted the driver but received no response. I called the business, and the owner asked me to send him pictures, which I did. Again, no response. When I called back the owner said he'd have to talk to the driver, maybe he could deliver a little more in the next day or two. I said I didn't want just a little more, I wanted the remainder of the 1/2 cord I'd paid for. There was no additional communication. The next morning I awoke to a knock at the door. The driver had returned and had already stacked some more firewood in my yard. When I pointed out that it was not the full balance of what I'd ordered and paid for, he again said it had been measured before it went in the truck and added "You want me to take it back?" I reiterated that I wanted the 1/2 cord I'd paid for; he said "This is 1/2 a cord." (See 'With second delivery' photo.) I didn't see any point in trying to argue this further, and I never received any explanation as to why I'd only received 1/4 cord on the first delivery, if it too had been measured before it went in the truck. The firewood was also poorly seasoned. My wife and I know how to build a fire, we've been doing this for years. I split plenty of kindling, and we use a lot of balled up newspaper, sometimes some cardboard, and dry pine needles as well. [We'd just been through a 1/2 cord from another vendor with no issues whatsoever.] With all of this firewood we struggled getting and keeping the fires going, and they consistently emitted a hissing moisture sound. It didn't help that it was mostly cut in 24" lengths; most places cut firewood logs to a more manageable 16". I ended up cutting several into smaller logs with a chainsaw. There were also more oddly-shaped pieces than usual [See 'Examples' photo]. I always expect there to be some, but there were more than there should've been. I gave these guys a try after calling around, hoping to get a lower price than my previous vendor. Their quote was lower but not for what we ultimately received and went through. It was a very disappointing experience and we will never use these guys again. read more

Called and got a quote. I ordered a 1/4 cord of wood. They delivered less than that. They also charged Pasadena sales tax when they are located in Altadena . Didn't appreciate that either. Some of the wood they delivered was rotten or non burnable . They did give have the best price but underperformed. I guess the saying is true, you get what you pay for . read more

Great job. Good price. Delivered and stacked really well on same day as order. The young man that delivered and stacked was very nice and efficient. Would definitely buy from Holiday again. read more

Nice people, fair price, but the wood does not burn. I have to leave the gas on the entire time.

They were able to deliver the wood the day after I called. Good wood, competitive price, very nice people.

Can confirm. They cut trees. Then into pieces. Problem? It's green. Do they tell you? Nope. Won't burn. The owner even called me back MONTHS LATER saying "hey we have more wood" like they didn't scam me the first time. Read my review to know the story. read more

I order a pallet. OMG! Very nice mix wood (smell so nice). Lois deliver on the same day. He stacked them (usually, other places don't do it.) He is professional. Everything was excellent. read more

The wood was great value and they delivered and stocked it perfectly just in time for winter!!

Quick delivery! Great price. Dropped the wood and stacked it neatly. I'll be buying from them again for sure.

These guys have the best prices around. Had wood delivered the same day that I called. They didn't charge a delivery fee & were nice enough to stack the wood where I wanted. I would order from them again. read more

Our usual place (Alpine) had only hardwood so based on Yelp reviews we decided to try Holiday. They came quickly, their mixed wood is fine, and they stacked it nicely. They gave us a free pair of gloves and some kindling. My one caveat is that by volume, they're very expensive. Alpine's hardwood is actually cheaper because the half cord we ordered here was not really a half cord. That said, if you're not picky about the actual volume, the wood itself is okay and they do stack (which Alpine apparently no longer does). read more

Perfect service. A full arrêt of wood on $40. The man loaded it in my trunk very nicely. Very pleased with this business

Great firewood and great value! Delivered super fast, will definitely be using these guys again!

We buy firewood every season, and this was by far the best experience I've ever had. Great mix of high-quality wood. Perfectly cured. Competitive price. I actually think they threw extra wood. Followed all my directions perfectly, and delivered with a smile. I've never done a yelp review before but felt compelled to acknowledge these guys. Stand out. Can't thank them enough! read more

Amazing service and selection. Owner does a great job of selecting woods and delivery and payment are so easy. Highly recommend.

We are so satisfied! Fast, reasonable, quality wood, friendly, and professional. Luis even gave us a giant bag of wood chips to go with our 1/2 cord of wood. This will definitely be my first choice for firewood in the years to come! read more

This is my second year ordering wood from Holiday Firewood and I would recommend them highly. We are very disappointed with the delivery made to my home. The wood is green and unable to ignite. I tried calling and leaving multiple messages and there is no answer. Anyone looking for quality wood look elsewhere this place has very poor communication skills with its customers. Let alone my wife tried finding a location to go in person to find these people and had no luck locating them. We are very unhappy with this business and are now left with a whole truck load of green wood in our backyard. this place is a scam!! read more

I would give zero stars if I could really bad customer service! Save yourself time and look elsewhere. No official location to look at the product being sold I asked the man who delivered to exchange the green wood he brought me and he refused to. I've never had such bad experience. I should of known better it's a home address. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want green wood and no customer skills. read more
