Our mens group frequented several Spectrum Center Irvine establishments on a recent Wednesday night and enjoyed ourselves after spending a considerable amount of money for dinner and drinks. Then we went to Holey Moley for a nightcap and when our 67 year old member had forgotten his ID they kicked us all out. The bartender stepped up to us aggressively, making unwanted physical contact with me and the purple vested "manager" approached in a threatening manner, pointing his camera at us and called security on us AFTER we were already off the premises. Nice hospitality, NOT kid or adult friendly. Don't waste your money here there are too many other good options nearby. read more

Really disappointing experience at Holey Moley Golf in Irvine. They charge plenty of money for the experience, but still seem to pack far too many people into a very small space. At almost every hole, there were at least three groups backed up waiting to play, which made the whole experience slow, crowded, and frustrating. There was very little direction or oversight from the staff, and everything felt unorganized. The drinks were subpar, especially for the price, and the food was just OK. The only part we really enjoyed was the individual challenge room, which was fun and easily the highlight of the visit. Overall, it felt like they were more focused on maximizing the number of people inside than providing a good guest experience. For what they charge, I expected much better organization, crowd control, service, and overall quality. read more

First time mini golfing! I've never been mini golfing and this was my first experience and it was fun. We went on a Sunday and it was hot that day. Looking for some indoor AC fun. Inside they had a little bar area for some drinks and they also had food/snacks as well! Amazing mini golf courses!! My girl and I went here to surprise her for passing her nursing exams. To relieve her stress, I decided to booked this mini golf activity cause apparently she never mini golf before (yeap shocking). Well I want her first mini golf experience to be memorable so this is the place to be :) The ambiance is perfect! Of how I described it.. it's like going to an art museum and you can play mini golf in it :) The pop arts are so imaginative and vibrant that every mini golf courses is a masterpiece. We visited on a Thursday 3 pm with 3 kids to enjoy the golf and eat/drink. Come to find out they got RID OF HAPPY HOUR sad face all the way man. What a bummer! We remember they had it the first time we visited so we were looking forward to that. To make things worse, a server did not show up for at least 12 min (yes, I timed it) and that's unacceptable for the little amount of people in the bar/restaurant. They did have a corporate/private event going on but I don't think that should have affected the service for everyone else. My guy went to the bar to ask about ordering and the bartender woman there was awesome, she saved the day! After he went to order with her, a server did come around a couple of minutes later, and she was very nice. About 15 min after that, another young guy came around and he was super helpful. So it was either nothing or everything (haha!). Once they had the area staffed, we really appreciated the servers attention and help while we were there. I ordered the red bull cocktail that comes with tequila it was pricey at $15 but yummy. We got the nachos and that was delish!!! The toppings were plentiful and fresh. The pizza was just ok, I like the crust better than the cheese/sauce. Our kids liked it though and they really enjoyed the golfing. Highly recommend for family fun, especially on hot summer days. There are 3 different zones (9-hole each). I recommend doing all 27-holes, which will take about 1.5 hours. The 27-holes all offer distinct fun, creatively blending in games like Plinko, pinball and more with mini golf. There's a bar area to grab drinks, and they have convenient water dispensing towers at the bar to quench your thirst. The restaurant area is a nice stop if you want to take a break between the sets. I tried both the mini golf and the food/drinks. The mini golf area was a bit cramped but we still had plenty of space to wait our turn and go through all the different holes and courses. They were all pretty easy to complete, as most of them required around only 2-4 swings to put it in the hole. Overall it was pretty fun! We were able to order drinks on the course and they brought it to us pretty quick. They kept coming so I ordered a good amount! We also sat near the bar area and I tried a juicy steakhouse burger. They were super friendly and allowed me to customize my burger however I wanted. I added lettuce, tomatoes, onions. It included waffle fries, and I ordered a side Cesar salad too. Yum! read more

We came here for the atmosphere, and had pretty low expectations for the food. Surprisingly, it was really good. The burgers were delicious and the salads and pizza were also tasty. I'm removing 2 stars, because the service at the table was poor. No one greeted us when we were looking for a table (there should be a sign that it's self-seating) and then we waited too long to be acknowledged (there were no other patrons at the restaurant). And it was clear our server could not have cared less. We asked to have our salad dressing on the side and she told us it doesn't come with salad dressing (ummm, ok ?). But yes, there it was, and it was balsamic. And someone put it on the side. But the garlic aioli that I asked for on the side was all over my burger. Weird. Holey moley is super unique because it's an indoor mini golf experience. The vibes here are super cute. The courses here are fun, but I would describe it as mini mini golf because they are way smaller than your standard outdoor mini golf. They also have a bar and speakeasy here, alongside food options. My only complaints are that it feels like the air conditioning is on super low here so it feels pretty warm and stuffy after a while and it was super crowded when I came on a Saturday afternoon, so the lines for everything were pretty long. read more

It's above par for a place of this calibre with burgers that were pretty delicious and pizza that you would find at any pizzeria outside. Portions are huge and definitely enough for even the big eaters. The one thing I can say is service...it is non existent and a real disappointment at the restaurant near the mini golf. . The place had one other table and no one to sit you at the host stand. Once seated you had to call a waiter for service and then you leave a card before ordering. This was is quite unique! The ambience is hip, with music from 90's with a twist. There is lots of creative mini golf courses to do. There is a Bar area and dining area. Lots of space for groups, and can accommodate large families as well. ( might have to call in for that if too big of a family) but overall this was a fun date night! Holey Moley is a fun miniature golf venue with a bar and restaurant located at the Irvine Spectrum. The vibe kind of reminds me of a Dave & Buster's but with miniature golf instead of video games. They have three separate courses (identified by red, blue, and yellow) with nine holes each for a total of 27 holes. You can book one, two, or all three courses. We decided to play all three courses and the cost is reasonable at $36 Thursday through Sunday, or $26 Monday through Wednesday. If you book ahead on the website, there is a very visible 10% coupon which can be used. We arrived and checked in, which was very fast and smooth. They hand you tokens to get golf balls out of the dispenser, then you grab clubs from the "pro shop", and they steer you to one of the three courses to start. We stopped by the bar first to grab a drink. I forgot to take a picture of the bar menu, but they have six signature cocktails in addition to classics, shots, mocktails, beer, and wine. I had the Sugar Caddy ($17) which was just served in a plastic cup and had some candy garnishes. She had the Shark Bait ($17) which was served in a ceramic shark head cup (which you do not get to keep). Both drinks were ok, not great but not bad. They are definitely a little on the pricey side. Most of the individual holes have some sort of theme and are a relatively small size. Most of the holes are par three. The décor is very good, and this location is only about six months old, so everything is still pretty new and not worn. Several of the holes have photo-ops where you can stick your head through the wall and get a picture in the decor. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was pretty busy. There were times where things got pretty backed up, especially if a large group or slower players took a while at each hole. I would definitely try to come earlier in the day, or on a weekday to avoid the crowd and wait times. A lot of people were carrying around drinks, but everybody was well behaved. After we finished all three courses, we visited the restaurant to have lunch. There are several booths and high-top tables in the bar area, and plenty of tables in the restaurant area. It took about ten minutes to flag down a server to order, but service was fine after that, and the food came out in a timely manner. We started with the Snack Cart appetizer (battered dill pickles & jalapenos, $11) which is served in a mini shopping cart. It was a good serving size and the sriracha sauce had a good spice. I had the Steakhouse Burger (smash patty, carmelized onions, horseradish cream sauce, swiss, arugula, and garlic aioli, $16). It is served on a "Nice Buns" stand and was very flavorful and filling. Sides aren't included, but for only $2, you a mini shopping cart full of very good seasoned waffle fries. She had the Thai crunch lettuce cups with ahi tuna ($15 plus $2 extra for tuna). It comes with four good sized wraps, and three different sauces. It was very filling and she loved it. We had a lot of fun, and I'd definitely recommend visiting for some fun. read more

Always a fun activity. Came here for a date night and had lots of fun. It was nice that there is a bar for adults and seating area to order food and be able to sit down and enjoy your food. It's adjacent to the Hijinx Hotel. The decor is vibrant and definitely is an arcade type of style. It was easy to get set up. You check in with the staff and they give you a starting point. Which is also nice because there's multiple starting points, therefore there isn't a huge line for each area. The only reason I knocked off one star is because of the spacing of each area. Although the spaces is packed with different holes and courses/obstacles, there was still plenty of space to move around. We had eaten before but will definitely try some food and drinks next time. Holey Moley is located in the Hijinx Hotel at Irvine Spectrum right by Irvine Improv / Umami Burger / Regal Theater. I highly recommend making reservations before you go because it gets very busy, especially on weekends. You start off by checking in at the little desk, and they give you your scorecard and assign you to the red, yellow, or blue/white course, depending on how many holes you paid for. The staff then gives a coin for each person in the party to put into the gumball vending machines in the next room over for a golf ball. This room is also where you pick your golf club. There's also a large dining area inside with food like burgers, fries, etc. and staff walking around while you mini golf to ask if you want any drinks. All of the courses are very creatively designed, but they are small and tight so it can feel claustrophobic. It also doesn't seem like they cap group sizes, so when I went, there was a group of like 10 people ahead of us and we had to wait until they all finished. Each time you finish a course of 9 holes, you have to ask the staff for another coin for each person in order to get another ball if you want to do another course, even if it's included in your reservation already. Overall a good experience, but it'd be best to go on a weekday if possible. Otherwise it will take much longer than the estimated/allotted time to finish the course(s). read more

Interior is like a theme park, they have 3 mini golf courses and a hijinx puzzle room. We came during HH, 3-6 Pm so select drinks were at a a discount. Really cool vibe; great family spot, date night, or just hanging out with friends. Primarily, they are a mini golf space. However, there's a full bar and restaurant, large restroom area (each "stall" is a full room, therefore, you can pick your stall regardless of gender and everyone washes their hands in the same center space), and a "play space" next door (it's like kid games made into adult sizes). For the mini golf, they have 3 main areas (yellow, red, and blue I believe). Based on when you purchase, they'll assign you to a color, alternating so guests spread out. You can purchase in 9, 18, or 27-hole options. (You can also just start off with 9 and purchase more later - is what the staff member shared!) I would keep in mind that obviously if you come at a more crowded time (like 6-8pm), there's a longer wait time between each hole. I like that each hole had its own theme; super cute. Visited Holey Moley for a social work event on a Thursday evening, and it was a lot of fun! I parked in the typical garage for the Irvine Spectrum, and it was a quick walk over to the golf club from there. Shoutout to Vanya for the awesome time! She was friendly and attentive and made the check in and ordering process super easy for us. The decor was bold and fun and the holes for mini golf were super creative. We didn't have to wait for other groups that were in front of us. The drink selection was also really clever. I went with the recommended "Watermelon Twinkle Toes" which came in a cute unicorn container, and did not disappoint. I thought it was a great balance of sweet and refreshing with the carbonation. I finally made it to Holey Moley and honestly... it was such a fun night. This place is pure vibes from the moment you walk in. We went all in and ordered the bathtub drink (because how could you not?) plus the OC Restaurant Week spread -- lemon pepper wings, burger with fries, and churros with ice cream. It was a ton of food and we still ended up taking leftovers home. The wings were the standout savory item for me. Super crispy with tons of flavor from the lemon pepper rub -- the kind where you keep reaching for "just one more." The burger was honestly just okay flavor-wise, but the presentation was ridiculously cute so I'll give it that. Sometimes the aesthetic really does count. But the true showstopper was dessert. The churros were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft in the center, and dipping them into the ice cream was basically the perfect ending to the meal. And yes... we got the bathtub drink. Holey Moley is a must visit place if you want a night out with your partner or group of friends. We had a party of 8, split up into 2 groups for golf and at first I thought the courses were fairly small for mini golf but also realized that it made the flow of mini golf keep moving. The atmosphere is super cool @ Hijinx & @Holey Moley, the staff is super friendly if we needed anything, we didnt order any food but the drinks were all yummy! Keep your eye out for the speakeasy! The ONLY thing I would change is I wish there were more staff hired specifically for quicker clean up. Some bathrooms needed a bit more attention, and people were leaving their empty glasses on the tables at each hole so we had no where to keep our drinks while we played (first world problem, I know). Other than that, we will for sure be coming back! Personal S/O to Eric, the magician that was walking around and doing magic tricks! The brand was created in Australia and has now expanded across the world including multiple locations across the United States. Next to Holey Moley is Hijinx Hotel which has more entertainment such as interactive challenge rooms for groups and more bars. There are three mini golf courses with 9 holes each. It's recommended to make reservations but especially on the weekends because it gets busy. While we played we ordered drinks and they were brought to the golf course for us to enjoy. We ordered the watermelon twinkle toes ($15), hole in one ($13), and rub a dub in the tub ($15) which were all good and came in really unique containers. After we played our holes of golf, we ate at the restaurant. We ordered the brisket loaded fries ($18), shrimp my ride ($16), and a hole lotta meat pizza ($21). The brisket fries were good but on the sweeter side and could've used something spicy or sour like pickled jalapeños or pickled onions. The shrimp was crispy and we really liked the pineapple hot honey dipping sauce. The a hole lotta meat was meaty but I would've preferred if the crust was a little thinner.
