Arrgh, forgot to pack another pair of shoes for this trip. Trying to decide my options and came across the Hoka Store. I like Hokas anyway so this stop was a no brainer. Plenty of choices and my sizes were in stock. Nice salesperson - took a little while for her to warm up and engage us. Found a great pair, something comfortable for all of the walking we plan on doing. Glad they were here.

"Recovery" Shoes - sandals to me!

TLDR: Official Flagship Store for HOKA with an unparalleled full selection of HOKA footwear and branded merch. List prices, Patient service, Big store. Where & What's Inside? One usually finds HOKA shoes in either running-oriented or orthopedic-oriented shoe retailers. Here on Level 2 near the Tesla store in Ala Moana Center is one of the few select corporate HOKA flagship stores in the USA that I've ever seen. It's absolutely huge inside, with a deep and complete selection of the entire HOKA footwear line from athletic/running shoes to "Recovery" Sandals that are equally comfy and some HOKA-branded athletic apparel too. Deals & Selection: List prices here, so don't expect discounts.. at least not while I was there. My feet are a bit wider than most, but they had every permutation of the "W" sizes I wanted actually IN STOCK.. Service: Patient and courteous help.. I say patient, because I tried on several pairs of their recovery sandals before settling on the size that truly felt right. Kudos to my hapless sales associate, but he got his sale in the end! LOL. FAQ: What's a HOKA? A: Weird, dare I say ugly looking shoes, but I SWEAR by these things now! Sooo comfy and great as running shoes and everyday casual shoes for darn near everything informal. It's the perfect shoe for those who have occasional issues that flare up with their feet like plantar fascitis and other minor challenges. My podiatrist recommended them, and yea.. these do the job and then some. 15k-18k steps a day, and my feet ain't complaining one bit! I've owned five pairs of HOKAs now over the years, and they are my go-to shoe. Verdict: 4.1/5 If you want HOKAs, This store gets the job done for the weird sizes and best HOKA selection for sure. No discounts, because they can't undercut their dealers. Sorry!

My husband is on his feet all day for work and his jordans have been hurting them. On a whim, he decided that he would try out some hoka's, despite him saying that they looked horrible. He has been wearing them for almost a week now and he loves them. He said that his feet aren't sore anymore. He loves them so much that he invested in another pair. The store is very neat and clean. The only downside is that they are low on inventory sizes, so they may not have your size if it is popular. Prices are high for shoes, but evidently worth it in comfort. Note that this store is a pop-up, so there is a possibility that they may not be here in the future. They do not offer military discount due to this. Hoka offers 30 days of returns (even if you wore them everyday). Just bring the box and receipt. Awesome perk! Worth it!

Can't say enough good things about Hoka. I'm running the Honolulu marathon this month in a very cute pair of aqua Hoka shoes that the staff here helped me find. It's my third Hoka purchase since this store opened in Honolulu. The shoe is way lighter weight than my last running shoe with plenty of cushion. The store even has tools to figure out which shoe you should get. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They also support local running clubs with staff in store before opening hours (aka 5 am!) to let runners training for the marathon meet up and sometimes even demo shoes. Full disclosure: the fun colors -- like pink, aqua and orange -- may make you feel way more athletic and cool than you actually are. .... Okay, you've been warned! Go check them out!

The first time I heard of this brand was from my sister. She said it was comfortable and the brand was recommended by her doctor for work. I didn't think much of them till I was looking for new shoes for my dad. We went to several places to look but nothing caught his eye or the shoes weren't very comfortable. My sister's work shoes came to mind so I suggested we go to check out Hoka in Ala Moana Center. He was open to the idea and we went in to see what they had to offer. My dad wasn't sold on the aesthetic of Hoka's after looking around. I suggested checking out the other shoe store upstairs to see if they offer any other styles and possibly looking at another brand. After checking them out, we came back to Hoka and tried out the style he liked best. There were several sales associates and we were helped immediately after we flagged someone down. Everyone was friendly and informative. Unfortunately, they didn't have his size available for my dad's top choice. The sales associate suggested we order online and to sign up for their free membership to get free shipping. She stayed with us while I went to their site on my phone. It turns out the shoes were on back order online. We ended up going with his second choice because they had his size in stock. It was the same style of the Clifton 9's but instead of all black, we got the black with some white. The shoes were light, comfortable and inexpensive. It was $15 less than the other shoe store upstairs so that worked out nicely. Mission accomplished on getting my dad some new shoes. I'll definitely have to come back to check them out the next time I'm in the market for shoes.

Running/walking/hiking shoes in Honolulu, Hawaii... I read reviews by my friends (Irene M. and Angel H.) and wanted to visit this Ala Moana Store for myself. Located on the Mall Level, between Tesla and Madewell... across from Tumi and Victoria's Secret, HOKA is known for their comfortable shoes. My sister wears a pair when traveling and walking far distances because her podiatrist recommended HOKA. The lady that sits in front of me at church wears HOKA - she used to walk to church on the Pali Highway from Aleea Heights! She also walked the Camino de Santiago twice with HOKA shoes! Inside of the store, I liked the way the shoes were categorized - like Children's table, Hiking shelves, and Racing area. Service was friendly! I was asked twice if I needed help. I just wanted to look at the prices... you get what you pay for!

I came into the store a few days ago to check out their shoes. My co-worker wears them and swears that they're so comfortable. Their shoes are really light. The two pairs that I was looking at were priced at $145 for the Clifton 9 and $165 for the Bondi 8. The salespeople were really helpful. They greeted me when I walked into the store. A few offered me help and explained the different types of shoes to me. I really wanted to try them on, but I was in a rush. I will be back.

One step at a time... Run, walk or just jog on over to Ala Moana Center Mall level as they have a new shop that offers footwear for every activity that we all enjoy here in Hawaii and I used to be very active in the past and have noticed Hoka wear though never really gave them a try am happy to see an shop to compare and see the options they have along with sales staff that's able to explain it all for us to understand clearly. I do have foot problems and have struggled to find that right pair more so for work as I'm constantly on my feet and have noticed the price but it looks so comfy as I browsed their huge layout with each section dedicated to the type of activity (Race, Hike, Lifestyle, Road or just Walk) along with socks, clothing and accessories finding the right choices is so essential and now with floor to wall choices of shoes that came from adventurers themselves with an idea has given us the comfort for whatever activities we have in our daily lives. Thank you!

The surf conditions that day weren't great (only about 1-2 ft), but you honestly would never have known it based on how much fun our kids had. Victor was an outstanding instructor--very friendly, incredibly patient, and amazing with kids. The twins kept saying he was "very fun," super supportive, and genuinely enthusiastic the entire lesson. He made them feel confident and excited, even with small waves. The pricing was also very reasonable for the quality of instruction and experience. Overall, this was one of the highlights of our trip, and we couldn't have asked for a better day of surfing for our teens. We would strongly recommend Moku Hawaii and Victor to anyone--especially families with kids or teens. We will absolutely book with them again!

I was put in an odd spot. Surely not in my comfort zone…read more You see, a friend from Japan came to Hawaii and when asked what he wanted to do, surfing came up. As a local boy born and raised in Oahu, I'm embarrassed by the fact that I cannot swim. Surfing clearly out of the picture. I used to work in the Japanese tour agency many blue moons ago where I recall a surfing school that offers surfing lessons. My friend already knows how to surf so I didn't think this was for him so I asked one of my physical therapists who surfs regularly. He introduced me to a surfing school that's at Ala Moana Beach where I was given their website, which is also available in Japanese. I forwarded the information to my friend prior to his arrival to Honolulu where he didn't jump at it and said he'd think about it. On his arrival I drove him to his hotel on Kalakaua Ave and upon check in we saw a rack of surfboards nearby where I asked if they were rentals. The staff advised the boards belong to the in-house guests who were keeping them as storage while not in use. When asked about rentals, the front desk staff advised us to inquire with Moku Hawaii (MH) as their rates are 1/2 to what the businesses are asking for across the street on the beach. MH has been in business since 1985 where they hail from Japan. They started off as a clothing company but transitioned over to a surf shop offering surf lesson and rental business. We walked over and soon found MH, which is on the 1F at the corner of Koa Ave and Uluniu Ave. We were greeted by a friendly, young female staff who welcomed us and answered our multiple questions. With its locality, reasonable rates and customer service, my friend liked MH and decided to look no further. While checking out their inventory, my friend noticed hard boards and was hoping for soft boards. The staff guided us to those soft boards where it's available in either long or short. You will need to complete their rental form which to our surprise is quite flexible. For example, you can initially request for a 2 hr package but in the event you go overcast, you just pay the difference of $5, which is the price difference between 2 hr course and the next course of up to 4 hrs. MH gives back to the community as they sponsor multiple local keiki surf contests. That's so awesome. So, if you should be in a bind where someone asks you for a surf school in Waikiki, look no further and guide them to MH. We were surprisingly impressed with their surf shop and their amazing customer service. They open from 6am and close at 8pm
