Took my Mom to buy some shoes for her birthday. With my sister's input she decied to get a pair of Hoka shoes for her upcoming trip. It took a little bit for me to find the store (was on the ground floor and it was on the top floor). My Mom was the one who actually spotted it. Once in the store I saw a large selection of active wear and shoes. We headed to the back of the store where the majority of the shoes are. The sales clerk were very attentive and friendly. My mom selected a pair and they went to check for her size but no luck. The clerk did point out other models that were available in her size. My mom was surprised at the price of the shoes and said I've never spent that much money on shoes before. I said don't worry you aren't paying LOL. I actually like this brand, the review is for the customer service on 4/27/26 in the afternoon. To Olivia: We walked in to the store, excited to buy a new pair of trail shoes. The store itself was a bit busy so we waited patiently, until we noticed you were standing around and not helping anyone. We called you over , hoping to try on a few sizes. You walked over, didn't say a word and just stared at us. It was awkward and weird, which is honestly fine. What's NOT fine is you walking over with 2 boxes of shoes and basically tossing the boxes next to me on the bench. It shocked me to see this unwarranted attitude, I had no idea where it came from. My father saw the interaction and called you out for it, you denied it straight to our face, even tho I experienced it and he watched it happen. I dont know what your problem was that day, but I hope you understand that you're there to work and helping customers is a part of that. My wife and I were in the Foot Locker store at Ala Moana Mall when she suggested to check out the new HOKA store next door / across from where we were. More out of curiosity and window shopping, I was not expecting to buy anything with a baby on the way. What caught my interest was seeing a machine to analyze my foot. I had always been curious due to foot discomfort and my job requires me to be on my feet for 8-9hrs. After getting a recommendation from the machine, we sought out the shoes. Their sales person Sandler helped us and was very patient and knowledgeable with the shoes. His knowledge and trying out the different models convinced me to pick up a pair. My husband is on his feet all day for work and his jordans have been hurting them. On a whim, he decided that he would try out some hoka's, despite him saying that they looked horrible. He has been wearing them for almost a week now and he loves them. He said that his feet aren't sore anymore. He loves them so much that he invested in another pair. The store is very neat and clean. The only downside is that they are low on inventory sizes, so they may not have your size if it is popular. Prices are high for shoes, but evidently worth it in comfort. Note that this store is a pop-up, so there is a possibility that they may not be here in the future. They do not offer military discount due to this. Hoka offers 30 days of returns (even if you wore them everyday). Just bring the box and receipt. Awesome perk! Worth it! read more

Can't say enough good things about Hoka. I'm running the Honolulu marathon this month in a very cute pair of aqua Hoka shoes that the staff here helped me find. It's my third Hoka purchase since this store opened in Honolulu. The shoe is way lighter weight than my last running shoe with plenty of cushion. The store even has tools to figure out which shoe you should get. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They also support local running clubs with staff in store before opening hours (aka 5 am!) to let runners training for the marathon meet up and sometimes even demo shoes. Full disclosure: the fun colors -- like pink, aqua and orange -- may make you feel way more athletic and cool than you actually are. .... Okay, you've been warned! Go check them out! read more

The first time I heard of this brand was from my sister. She said it was comfortable and the brand was recommended by her doctor for work. I didn't think much of them till I was looking for new shoes for my dad. We went to several places to look but nothing caught his eye or the shoes weren't very comfortable. My sister's work shoes came to mind so I suggested we go to check out Hoka in Ala Moana Center. He was open to the idea and we went in to see what they had to offer. My dad wasn't sold on the aesthetic of Hoka's after looking around. I suggested checking out the other shoe store upstairs to see if they offer any other styles and possibly looking at another brand. After checking them out, we came back to Hoka and tried out the style he liked best. There were several sales associates and we were helped immediately after we flagged someone down. Everyone was friendly and informative. Unfortunately, they didn't have his size available for my dad's top choice. The sales associate suggested we order online and to sign up for their free membership to get free shipping. She stayed with us while I went to their site on my phone. It turns out the shoes were on back order online. We ended up going with his second choice because they had his size in stock. It was the same style of the Clifton 9's but instead of all black, we got the black with some white. The shoes were light, comfortable and inexpensive. It was $15 less than the other shoe store upstairs so that worked out nicely. Mission accomplished on getting my dad some new shoes. Located on the Mall Level, between Tesla and Madewell... across from Tumi and Victoria's Secret, HOKA is known for their comfortable shoes. My sister wears a pair when traveling and walking far distances because her podiatrist recommended HOKA. The lady that sits in front of me at church wears HOKA - she used to walk to church on the Pali Highway from Aleea Heights! She also walked the Camino de Santiago twice with HOKA shoes! Run, walk or just jog on over to Ala Moana Center Mall level as they have a new shop that offers footwear for every activity that we all enjoy here in Hawaii and I used to be very active in the past and have noticed Hoka wear though never really gave them a try am happy to see an shop to compare and see the options they have along with sales staff that's able to explain it all for us to understand clearly. I do have foot problems and have struggled to find that right pair more so for work as I'm constantly on my feet and have noticed the price but it looks so comfy as I browsed their huge layout with each section dedicated to the type of activity (Race, Hike, Lifestyle, Road or just Walk) along with socks, clothing and accessories finding the right choices is so essential and now with floor to wall choices of shoes that came from adventurers themselves with an idea has given us the comfort for whatever activities we have in our daily lives. The name "HOKA" originates from the Maori language, meaning "to fly over the earth." Originating from the French Alps in 2009. This is a pop-up store located at the Ala Moana mall, next to Tesla. I've heard it's supposed to be one of the most comfortable shoes out there. Podiatrists tend to recommend Hokas for footwear. There is a foot scanner located on the right side near the shoes, helping you figure out the best choices for your foot type and style. Try on multiple styles till you find one that you genuinely like. Each style is going to be a different size, as that was my experience. Some were a half size smaller or half size bigger. The customer service from Rose was excellent. She gave very good recommendations for my flat foot/plantar fasciitis issues, as she suffers from the same problems as me. I ended up getting the lifestyle shoes since I mainly needed casual walking shoes. I love going on sunset walks everyday. I've owned this pair for 3 months now, and I no longer have sore feet when I do long distances. I am a HOKA converter now! Pricey, but worth it in the long run. I see it as an investment in my health. Especially if you stand or walk a lot. A BIG PLUS is they allow you to try the shoes and you can return no questions asked within 30 days, or 60 days if you become a member, it's free. So no harm to try it out. I had an amazing experience at the Hoka store at the Ala Moana Center, thanks to Divine. I approached her and explained that I had purchased Hokas in the past but had difficulty finding them comfortable, as they hurt my feet quite a bit. I asked for her recommendations on shoes that would be best for my feet. She then showed me a machine that scans your feet while you stand on it. This machine provides your size, foot type, and recommendations for suitable shoes. After chatting for a while, she educated me on different types of shoes and which ones would be best for my needs. She was so fun to talk to and I felt seen! Best customer service ever. I ended up purchasing the Mach 6 in beige. I wore them for the rest of my trip in Waikiki and continued to use them once I returned to San Francisco. They are absolutely great shoes (feet don't hurt from excessive walking anymore) and I'm so grateful that Divine helped me find the perfect pair! read more

Finally we have a Hoka shoes store on the island, I have been buying Hoka shoes ever since they launched and I went through many many pairs of running shoes, even the web site offer 30 days money back if I do not like the shoes, it is still always better I can go to the store to try out difference models and sizes. I do want to say their shoes is nice but it does not last too long, 400 to 500 miles is the max. The service is good and the sales team are helpful. They told me if I am a member, which mean if I have an account with email with Hoka, I can try the shoes for 60 day and return if I do not like it. They did know which sizes they had of the designs I was interested in. They knew the prices too. I'm glad I got to see the place. I had lost my receipt for the pair of Mach X shoes that I bought. When I bought those almost $200 running shoes, I had no idea that the carbon plate was not a match for the kind of running I was planning to do. I was so nervous I wouldn't be allowed to return or exchange them. I did have the box. When I went in, Eric was so attentive, patient and helpful. He let me exchange the shoes for store credit and patiently helped me try on three different models before I found the perfect shoe (Arahi 7)! Totally rockstar service. Those Mach X's were the first pair of Hokas I bought and I was so sad with the way they made my knees hurt. Turns out they just weren't a match for me. My review is on service not quality of Hoka's. I typically wear ASICS and On Clouds but after increasing my mileage, I was curious and open to trying out Hoka's. My mother in law (MIL) told me about the great service at the Ala Moana location and the comfort of her Hoka's. She said a young gentleman helped her at the Ala Moana Hoka store and she received good informative and couldn't be happier about her experience there. So I went into the Hoka store at Ala Moana several weeks ago and it was as if I went to the wrong store that my MIL was raving about. There was no greeting, no questions asking if I was looking for something specific etc., which I understand wouldn't happen if the store was busy and customers were being helped-but the store was empty. I did notice one of the workers with a black mask exchange a "look" with another worker there when my partner and I walked in. We went to the wall of shoes and I didn't know what Hoka's were about-I'm new to their brand. We asked for help from the employee with the black mask and I inquired that I'm new to the Hoka brand and would love to know a little more about them and which shoe is for what. Her tone was off putting and filled with sass-her answer was generic and lacked any real detail, just pointing to running/fitness and said to go on the machine to see how my feet were-and then she left. It was absolutely weird and off putting. Idk if I reminded her of someone, or I looked like I had no money or what, but it felt extremely awkward. It didn't make sense- I understand it if the store was slammed with customers or if I was rude but there were no customers in the store and I was happy and excited to check out Hoka, especially since my MIL had such a positive experience. The service that day was awful and disagreeable. So we left and I bought a couple pairs of running shoes from a different store in the mall that had better service and didn't base their attention nor attitude on perceived looks. read more
