The wife loved their light beer

The wife, Dog and I decided to try hog Molly brewing company in Columbus, Indiana. They have a huge parking lot and the nicest backyard patio I've ever seen. It had overhead cover and Astroturf with plenty of seating. if it's raining or the weather is bad they have an indoor pet room as well with a bar. to get your drinks you must go inside and order from the bartender who was super friendly and nice and yes, I did try several samples since it was our first time here. For food you go to another window and put your food order in. We had the pulled pork nachos. I will say they were delicious. Perhaps the best I've ever had. It was kind of nice because they let you select and put your own sauce on. They also gave you plenty of jalapeños why we were just sitting there two different sets of folks very politely started conversation and we ended up meeting some folks that lived down the street from us. The whole experience was fantastic. The service was wonderful. The patrons were friendly. The patio was the best I've ever seen and oh yes, they had plenty of TVs in the bar to watch game day. This would definitely be our hangout if we lived closer.

    Smash burger with beans.

I LOVED the old location...but now in its bigger location, it is what it is. Three distinct areas: the bar, indoor/outdoor room & patio. Yummy beers (Red Headed Cheerleader for me). Very limited menu but smash burger with beans was amazingly impressive. Worth a stop, especially on a nice day or when there is musicians playing.

This was such a neat little brewery near the downtown area. I would highly recommend coming here if you are in the mood for fruity beers. My two favorites are definitely the Redheaded Cheerleader and the Strawberry Cheesecake.

Beer was on point. Had a great time there. But food can use improvement. Bacon jam on grilled cheese was stewed tomatoes and bacon. That's not bacon jam. Was still good and would recommend it for effort. Live band was great and I can appreciate what they are trying to accomplish. We will definitely go back.

My evening hangout for writing Yelp reviews and winding down from a day of exploring, I had a nice time here. An enjoyable frosty adult beverage with a little bit of power for the phone and laptop. It's a friendly, local watering hole with beer brewed locally. That's a fun time for me. We had such a fun time hanging out at Hog Molly Brewing with our dog on their enclosed outdoor patio. They had lots of heaters spaced around and provided blankets just in case we got cold. What a great touch! You will not go hungry here as they offer snacks, they have a food truck and allow you to bring in your own food. We enjoyed our dinner with a flight of beer each. The beers were delicious! Their playbook of beers range from light to dark and offer their classic beers as well as their seasonal beers. They offer cider and wines as alternatives for those non beer loving people. The brewery is family owned by husband and wife who are active in the brewery. They came over to make sure we were warm and happy. They provided our dog with water, treats and much love. What a fun night. Please check them out! We will be back!

Hog Molly Brewing was our second stop on our road trip to Columbus, IN. This was very neighborhood like type of Brewery, and the owners of the Brewery were very one on one with us and talked to us about the beer and the Brewery. The owners of the Brewery were a husband and wife who learned how to home brew beer right after they retired from their jobs. Martha, the wife, spent a lot of time with us talking about how the Brewery came about and how they came about with their beers. It was excellent and impressive to have that one on one interaction with the owner and learn about their history of the Brewery. The beers were very good and the decor of the Brewery was unique and exquisite with sayings all around the walls related to alcohol. I highly recommend the Session Lemon IPA and the Chocolate Breakfast Stout. They were two of my favorites. I loved Hog Molly Brewing and would recommend everyone to check out this Brewery in Columbus, IN. Another winner in my book!

If you like your breweries to have a more intimate feel while serving great tasting beer, this place is worth tracking down. They have been open about a month and have six brews on tap. The owners were on hand behind the bar and apparently, the father and one of the sons played offensive linemen in football, which according to their website are positions called "Hog Mollies". So, you will see some football decor around the seating area. There was even a playoff game on the television screens too! The best way to find this is to look for the first side street heading south of US 31 on the east side of the elevated stretch over Indianapolis Avenue. That street leads to Depot and you take a right. The brewery is a half block away on the right. They have their own paved parking lot with some designated handicapped parking and an access ramp as well as stairs. Inside, the seating area and restrooms are to the right. The bar and additional seating are on the left. Simply place your order at the right side of the bar which is also where you settle your bar tab. I went with a flight. Each of the six brews is individually priced so you can get a 5 oz serving of as many as you select. I decided to go with four choices which included an amber, an IPA, a chocolate/breakfast stout, and I finished with a Scottish ale. I really liked the first three. The amber was nicely balanced while the IPA reminded me of a grapefruit juice with its blend of tart/bitter flavor. The stout was smooth and almost creamy tasting. Very good! I also got the Scottish Ale which is a hearty 10.1% ABV with a robust smoky taste. I am not usually a Scottish Ale drinker, so the smokiness caught me by surprise. I think this would be a really good one to eat with the charcuterie board food they have available. Although they don't have much food and only six brews currently, I hope they will consider adding more hours (Friday and Saturdays only now), and maybe add some more ales as they get better established. There aren't a lot of food options nearby (it's an industrial area), so you can use a food delivery or just plan on bringing something with you. The folks behind the counter were really friendly and upbeat making the place seem like a cool place to hang out and most importantly, like I was a welcome guest. If you are tired of being ignored at bars, give this place a try! Review #3507

Really enjoyed my visit! I originally wanted to try their lemon pineapple IPA, but it was already tapped out. However, I thought it was really cool they had "flavor shots" (blood orange, pineapple and raspberry) to add to any of their beers. I tried the pineapple in the Hefeweizen, it was good but I really couldn't taste the pineapple. However, my fiancé added the blood orange to his lemon IPA and it was really great. This place had plenty of parking, large patio, but didn't serve food. My only complaint, is no one really followed the mandatory mask. The servers were a bit careless too, they may have had a mask on, however their noses were exposed. I wish they would follow the regulations, especially when I as the patron was clearly following.

The old Bavarian charm remains throughout the restaurant. Our visit this time was prior to the MJ MUSICAL at Old National. It's right across the street. The staff is well aware of their diner's itinerary and backs certain you can enjoy cocktails, wine, and dinner in time for the 7:00 pm start time. I applaud that courtesy. It was evident that our server, Cindy was a seasoned employee (20 years). Her attention throughout our visit left us wanting for nothing. I noticed many times her surveying our table for refills, empty plates. Her big smile and friendly personality only added to the exceptional experience. The food is prepared in the traditional German style. It is rich and very filling. The portions are enormous. Our party enjoyed an appetizer of Brat & Kraut balls and entrees of Schnitzel Parm., Jäeger schnitzel, spinach dinner salad with hot bacon dressing and my favorite "Oxtail Soup". Just the item for a cold winter night. Patrons of OLD NATIONAL CENTER shows should start their evening off right with dinner at THE RATHSKELLER. You won't be disappointed.

I ordered the Schnitzel and my guest ordered the Jagerschnitzel. Both looked good, unfortunately the meat was either tough or overcooked for both orders. The potato pancakes and applesauce sides were good. The highlight of the meal was the large soft pretzels and mustard that was provided instead of bread. Perhaps we caught them on a bad night, and are giving them the benefit of the doubt. The Biergarten had quite the crowd and would be worth a visit during Oktoberfest.

Needless to say we were not seated anywhere near our reservation time. Our waitress was typical of the current terrible service in the restaurant industry. They have food runners bring the food out, so if you need anything, they just look at you like a deer in the headlights and walk away. We really liked the food, which is why I gave 4 stars. The pretzel with beer cheese appetizer is worth driving there for. The burger was very tasty and prepared well. I'll agree with other people in that it is a little too pricey. The appetizers shouldn't be the same price or higher than entrees, and the $3+ sodas are just ridiculous. I can see how some people think it's too loud in there, but I guarantee tonight was as packed as they get, and we didn't think it was too bad. The building sits on the banks of Driftwood River (now called East Fork White River) and offers spectacular views of the famous Robert N. Stewart Bridge in Columbus, Indiana. Upland Brewing Company is a local brewery that started in Bloomington, Indiana in 1998. Now, they have a number of popular restaurants/pubs across Indiana. The building, built in 1871, served as the Pump House supplying water to the city of Columbus, Indiana. The Pump House faced financial, water and quality challenges over the years, but was instrumental in industrial growth of the city. The Pump House operated until 1950, when the city moved to well water. The Pump House served a number of businesses and organizations since 1950. Upland opened the pub in 2016. We were greeted and promptly seated in the bar when we entered. Our server/bartender, Jess, was attentive and friendly. Several other servers also engaged with us, as well. One brought me a fascinating pamphlet describing the history of the building because I was curious. We arrived in time to sample their 3:00 - 5:00 pm Happy Hour. (I love a good Happy Hour.) We ordered Dragonfly IPAs, which went down smooth on a hot summer day. We also enjoyed a couple of sliders from the Happy Hour menu. The Bad Elmer's Fav burger was good with lots of bacon but my favorite was the Hoosier Tenderloin. I should note that much of the food is locally sourced. The building has a large dining room, bar, private dining, private event room, and a fabulous patio with river views. The landscaping is gorgeous. Their signature beers are available for purchase to go along with the logo shirt and a few other logo items. I highly recommend a visit. The food and beer are first class. The setting is lovely and service is attentive.

Matter of fact I'm not sure if I want to go back. We were sat in an almost empty restaurant but that was most likely because of time of day (around 2). Our waitress though took awhile to come greet us. She took our orders and to start off on a wrong foot our 2 cocktails and WATERS took over 10 minutes to come out. I know this because I had a text I had sent and being aggravated I went back and looked at the time when I sent it . Later on our appetizers came out. It was about 20ish minutes after our order went in. Then our food came about 5 minutes after that giving us little room left on the table. I know it was an almost 45 minute wait to get everything. I ordered the blackened chicken which was amazing my first visit a couple months previously but this time it was dry and definitely blackened .... AKA burnt! The manager was checking on the other tables she had with an additional waitress running around so I assume our waitress wasn't the only one taking care of them (4 as seen in picture actually) and when he popped by to ask how everything was he took my plate to remake it. 15ish MORE minutes go by and I asked the waitress if she could check on my food and she said 'well chicken takes a while to cook'. In disbelief I jokingly said I can make it faster at home so please just get mine to-go since my parents were already done and had been done for awhile. We got to-go boxes for their leftovers and my food came out shortly after . We received $ 40 off without asking so I appreciated getting something for 1 1/2 hours waiting in a nearly empty restaurant and no meal. I went home and when I went to heat up my food AGAIN the chicken was charred and extremely dry. I ate the sweet corn farrotto which was atleast good and trashed the chicken. Since it was now dinner time I made my own meal With the time and overall poorly done meal(s?) I had I think I'll avoid it happening again by just going elsewhere. It's a shame because we went here with a party of 8 previously and they did so good. We were honestly thinking this would be our spot for special occasions after that but it's likely not worth it since the manager and chef left us hanging and yet again served something subpar. I'd of hoped they make absolutely sure my simple chicken dish was correct the second time around I didn't take a pictures of food we got unfortunately. Our appetizers looked and tasted good but they were eaten quickly because we were starving by the time they came out around 3 so no time for those pictures either. I was then too busy sending my food back and eating appetizers. Once my chicken came out togo we all just wanted out of there! Then once I got home I was too aggravated and gave up any reason to go get my phone I suppose. Why bother? They didn't bother to make it right after all except to give us some $ off but I still wasted my time that day and again when I got home making my own food . The manager will definitely remember this disaster though
