    Fried mushrooms ‍

This place is worth the small jaunt off the beaten path. We had the fried mushrooms, Italian grinder and side salad! All were delicious! And the King Louie Dank Hazy smells funny but tastes so good! Tara behind the bar and George in the kitchen are doing great work!

I would not recommend the pizza - the sauce was barely edible. Breadsticks with beer cheese were decent.

Just…read morea few blocks off the exit, I plan to make this a regular lunch stop on my frequent trips between Indianapolis and Cincinnati. There are many unique items on the menu, but I like to stick to the basics on a first visit to a Mexican restaurant. If the salsa, rice, beans, and bean and cheese burrito is good then I will try something different the next time. So I ordered a combination meal of cheese enchilada and bean & cheese burrito meal. It was served with sides of rice and beans. The salsa was excellent, very fresh and flavorful. Refried beans were very savory with good texture and flavor. The rice was excellent too. Often I find rice to be just ok, but this was full of flavor. I will definitely order a side of rice every time I come here. Service was vey friendly and the dining area was clean. The interior was bright and cheerful with colorful decor. I was excited to see a sign that said "Margarita Flight" so I will plan to dine here sometime when I am not traveling for work. Highly recommend!

They forgot the salsa tonight, but it's complementary with chips anyways, so no big deal there. Everything else was perfect! Definitely have confidence if you want to order Los Charros! As we were ordering we we asked if we had any questions or if we wanted to try any sauce. We made our order to go, smokehouse club pulled pork, and the brisket Mac-n-cheese. After we ordered we were asked if we needed anything, we were told we were fourth on the order board and it was ok to sit somewhere while we waited. The food is yummy, yummy. I love the club it's a salad with pulled pork, something love. Richelle said she yummy loved the brisket Mac-n-cheese. If you get it to go it will not look pretty when you get it home, see my picture, it was all mixed up but that is how Richelle would have eaten it any way. Fantastic food, Fantastic service, indoor and outdoor dining area. I think there were a few beer choices too.

I'm not a grits fan, but these were super cheesy and very good. Beans were also great! They have a self serve kiosk for ordering and deliver your food when it's ready. Just a warning, they were busy, and delivery took a bit, but the food was hot and fresh. We sat at a bench by the window and enjoyed the view of downtown while we waited.

Before I begin my review, I would be remiss to mention those skeptical souls who think of Lil'…read moreCharlie's, not as a beacon of culinary excellence or a palace of palatial pleasures, but a den where dwell the foulest demons of ignorance of cooking. Charles Baudelaire, before whom I bow as a servant to a master, once said "On peut juger de la vertu d'un homme à ses goûts en matière de nourriture". Well, he technically said no such thing, but I wish he would have. Baudelaire would have smited upon the tongue those fanatic cretins who maintain and uphold the absurd opinion that Lil' Charlie's (Heaven banish the thought!) is a bad restaurant. I have heard many of my fellows complain of stomachaches and nausea accompanying a trip to this paradise of cookery. Alas! they exaggerate their sufferings, seeking to blame Lil' Charlie's for their own puerile digestive system. For those who criticize the food itself, I have no words. Indeed, I must restrain my tongue; for no fire burns too hot for them, no poison good enough to scorch their iniquitous throats, no--but I must hinder my rash flow of words: justice makes me speak thus. Now I shall presume to speak of the menu. Presume, because who can hope to accomplish the feat of expounding, in mere human words, the transcendence that is the cooking of Lil' Charlie's? I feel as Dante felt when, looking into the eyes of his lady-love Beatrice (oh! those luminous eyes 'lucent-weeping from the dayspring'!), he laments his inability to capture the beauty of it in words. To use Browning's phrase: "Poor the speech; be how I speak for all things". If Browning stumbles in his speech, what can I hope to say? Nevertheless, I set sail in uncertain waters, trusting that my words may carry me through. The food itself is the platonic ideal of perfection. The pork sandwich, Homeric in its proportions, leaves no hungry waif unsatisfied. The chicken wings come in divers seasonings. Jamaican Jerk? Parmesan and garlic? Classic Buffalo? Lil' Charlie's has you covered. The salads are a pleasant meal in themselves; one cannot eat them without conjuring up images of sunny pastorals or the Ecologues written by Theocritus, where joy-drunk shepherds recite their bucolic verses to one another. I shall go so far as to compare the summer salad to a painting by Watteau. Such is the magical power wielded by the chefs of Lil' Charlie's. The one stain upon the pure tapestry woven by the Muses themselves may be said to be the Father Franz Chili. It was rather too oily and contained NO beans! Absurd! Maddening! All in all, it was still a somewhat palatable meal. I must end my paean to Lil' Charlie's without praising the many other attractive features that lend it lustre. The atmosphere is homey and attractive; the tables are as clean and polished as a verse by Virgil. I blush with shame that I cannot hymn the staff, angels of culinary perfection, as is fit. All I can add is that Heaven shall reward them the highest sphere among its many mansions. And, to you one young man who laments the time it takes to receive your food (you know your name, oh unfortunate one!), all I can wish is for your tongue to cleave to your jaws and your liver to pour forth upon the earth. Let your voice be silenced ever and anon. FINIS

Potato skin was burnt Service- the girl was new but very nice and pleasant Ambiance - lights flickering the entire time annoying! Place was old and seemed a bit dirty. It was a bit from the interstate but we like trying new places. This one definitely not worth the extra travel. Maybe if I lived next door I would try again but doubt it. They market as having craft beers but turns out that is a no. Guess the brew master left.
