Co tak začít Silvestrovský večer Ledový čajem z dlouhého ostrova ?! :)

This bar&restaurant is really exceptional for more than few reasons: - Really healthy, and tasty choice on lunch menu every day from Monday to Friday (no matter what kind of a diet you are on, you will always find something for yourself!) - Awesome cocktails, wine, free tap water, home made lemonades, simple but delicious evening meals. There is very few night bars in Prague where you can have a meal. Therefore you usually first need to go to restaurant, and only after to the bar. - Great choice of international cuisine, and rocking chefs - Very kind and helpful staff that will do their best for making to feel you comfortable - Super convenient location in very center of Prague (ideal for big parties, since anybody can get there and back home in late night by metro, tram or train having a station very close by. Simply the best check-point if you need to meet friends and each of you live somewhere else, further from the center. - Cool and sophisticated design. Dress up in colorful clothes, you will beautifully shine among black-grey-wooden interior :) - All that for very friendly prices. Enjoy !

Looking for a nice non-smoking bar? This place is a great answer! Nice location, lovely interior, good drinks and food! And you do not go home smelling bad hehe! The prices could be a little lower but oh well :-)

Thanks to Yelp, we tried Bar Hoffa. We found everything just as described... Very nice and attentive wait staff, great beer and really flavorful burgers. Also got to enjoy an impromptu jam session while dining. This may become one of our favorite hangouts while in Prague!

Really friendly nice staff, doesn't feel like a tourist spot, cool vibe and interesting cocktail menu. We visited on a Friday around 7pm and had no problem finding a table. Trivia - the bar is named after Jimmy Hoffa.... And conveniently resides street level of the Union building.

Easy going clubbing environment. Great cocktails, looking good. The ribeye is very tender, the sauce voluminuos and the potatapie just right. The Hoffa burger with angus meat also very tasty. Although it's more of a bar, than a restaurant the food is really good.

This place is perfect for late night food. And it's AAALLLL about the goat cheese salad! Sits perfectly on one of my favorite little squares. The giant windows offer great views. The prices are great. We got chips and salsa (chips made out of pita- classic) bread with oil and vinegar and all sorts of food. Dreamy. Very nice and friendly staff. Great lighting. Music wasn't too loud. The park right outside and across the street is a great place to go and sit after the meal. Take some time to enjoy the night with friends and enjoy a lovely night in Prague. I highly recommend it.

The atmosphere is good, the location is central, the staff is great and the cocktails are... fine. A bit on the sweet side and often not terribly authentic, but tasty enough. A good enough place if you are sick of beer.

Nice bar with a large selection of alcohol and wine. Price isn't terrible either. Went planning to eat there as well but the menu was pretty underwhelming overall. It's not bad, just not a ton of selection there. Definitely a good place for drinks.

Not only does Absintherie serve as a beautiful absinthe bar, it's also a small absinthe museum! They have displays with fascinating information about the history of absinthe, and items related to the making of absinthe. Since it's a Prague specialty, I chose to drink macerated absinthe. It was so fun to watch the bartender expertly handle the drink and the flames. Once my drink was made, I wandered around Absintherie while enjoying my drink and enjoying the displays and learning omre about absinthe. They used to sell absinthe ice cream here, according to a blog I read back in the early 2010s. Unfortunately, due to regulations in Prague, absinthe ice cream is no longer offered. However, the bartender who served me quickly whipped up a small bowl for me. When I asked him how much I owe him, he said don't worry about it, they only give it to nice people. That was so sweet and nice of him!!! 5 stars for sure!!!!! Thank you Absintherie for being such a memorable absinthe bar in Prague!

Reservations were booked…read moreweeks in advance but we decided to test our luck as it opened and got lucky with a walk in. This is a speakeasy where you spend 1.5-2 hours choosing drinks solely from illustrations that fit into a story. You truly don't know what the drink will be aside from the types of alcohol and a few words to describe the flavor profile. There were about 6 sections for 3-4 guests in a party, which is why reservations were highly recommended. The server then comes over with the cards and describes the concept. He does ask if there were any alcohols we didn't like, then gave us the cards to choose from. A few minutes later he came back and took them to get our drinks prepared. The drinks did take a little while to prepare. The server, who was now masked, delivered our drinks. They were served with different decorations or props to enhance the story telling. Each drink was quite different and were definitely well crafted. We ended up each having two rounds but there were probably 10 drinks to choose from. Pros -This concept is quite unique, and stood out over other speakeasies in Prague. -It's intimate and classy, and the ambiance offers an elevated experience. -The story telling element added another layer of experience, you would likely order more drinks to figure out the story. How they presented each cocktail was also very photo friendly. Opportunities -You could see your neighbors experience in front of you, which took away that surprise element that they were going for. You'd see their drinks roll by and would see what's coming. We also saw their reactions to their drinks so we knew what not to order. I wish there were curtains separating each party so it was really a surprise. -I wish the staff were in masks the entire time, it would be more spooky and true to how social media presents this place. They only wore them to bring drinks over. -Drinks were upscale but definitely an acquired taste. We liked some more than others. Overall this place is unique, and with a few tweaks on tiny details, I think would be phenomenal.

I had bookmarked Tynska recently and noticed it was only a few blocks away, so we walked over. In a city that confuses me every single time I round a corner, Tynska was actually easy to locate. About time that happened! It's not too far from Old Town Square, for context. When we arrived, the door was locked in speakeasy fashion. Turns out you need to ring the bell to be allowed in. Cool way to control crowds! I'm not sure if there was a dress code or not. My roommate and I were dressed normally for the season and were permitted inside without a reservation. Perhaps they're more strict later in the night or if there's limited seating. I checked in on Yelp and an ad popped up for a free snack plate. My server didn't know about it but asked the bartender, who accepted the coupon. What arrived was seriously beautiful: a tray of delicious cheeses (four different kinds, I believe), crackers, and a semi-sweet jam. We were also given a cup of popcorn mixed with potato chips and a separate bowl of green and black olives. So good!! For drinks, my roommate ordered a red wine, which she deemed "awesome." I chose the Life is Beautiful cocktail -- made with aperol, elderflower liquer, fresh lime, and topped with Laurent Petrier Champagne. At 295 crowns ($12), it was a splurge but totally worth it considering it was likely the best cocktail I've had in months. The decor here was dim, cool and ritzy. Think Mad Men styling. Perfect for a night out with a few close friends, a date, or to enjoy solo seating at the bar. Better than a club night? I'd say there's no comparison.
