When i decided to switch comapany's from Hocon gas of danbury to mitchell of danbury. hocon gas of danbuy came to pump out their tank and remove it on or about 09/15/2022, I had about half a tank remaning and 300 gallons of credit on file with hocon of danbury. its been over a month and i still havent recived a check for the unused gas i pre-bought from hocon of danbury. ive called hocon gas of danbury mutiple times and today 10/28/2022 they told me the check was cut 10/27/22. and that the check still need to be signed. their billing department is very unorganized. and they are criminal in my book since they have yet to refund me my unused propane in over a month. read more

Prices the same as everybody else. Installer team (2). One was EXTREMELY ABUSIVE. I have never as a customer been treated this badly. The 4 letter cursing at a new customer was shocking. Management got involved and Bill C. VP of Operations quarterbacked the resolution of my issue in a very professional manner. Appreciate that he truly listened to my complaint- didn't start with excuses, got back to me quickly after he did his research, and got things coordinated and accomplished quickly and ahead of when I expected. I posted a not so complimentary review a few months ago and it is not here any more.Let me re-fresh.Have been a customer of theirs for 7 years.Their prices have always been suspect,but they own the tank.My delivery of Oct 30 was the straw that broke the camel's back.Charged $3.79 a gallon,when competitors were charging a little over $2.00 a gallon.Paid the bill and informed them not to refill the tank.Am changing companies this week.Next stop....CT Dept of Consumer Affairs.Avoid this company at all costs! Hocon Gas does not listen to their customers. They keep delivering propane gas when specifically told not to. I first called to advise that we did not want any deliveries and will call when & if we needed any gas. They then said they will put us on "will call list". They delivered anyway, I paid for that delivery and advised them again to stop deliveries because we were not at the location and because of covid we were quarantining at another location and no one would be there. We were winterizing the house and did not need any gas. It seems like the more you tell them the more they ignore because they did another delivery without our knowledge. Since we were not there, we weren't aware of it. They then had apparently locked it without advising us, and not being there, we didn't even know it was done. They said we had to make an appointment to have it unlocked so we drove to the house and met the person. He just was there for about 10 minutes and did not check anything, I advise him that nothing worked inside, which he never even checked, then said it should come on eventually and left. He also said the tank was full and we would not be needing any deliveries (gas). I said we should not anyway because I had already told them we would not be here and would not need any. I called weeks later only to find out that they had made yet another delivery (which we should be all tap out now) and charge lots of fees and interest which I should never have received in the first place. Again, I was not at the location and was not informed. Out of courtesy, I paid for the gas again, but I should not have to pay for any other fees or charges, especially since they were well informed and made the mistake. I feel that Hocon Gas is taking advantage of their customers for the sole purpose of enriching their bottom line. Had they listened to begin with, I would not be paying for anything. This is one terrible company. I have had nothing but issues with them since day 1! I'm on automatic payment but for some reason this is the only company that can't figure out how to do it. I call when I get a bill. "Sir your all set with auto pay"! Then a month later same bill with interest now!! Every damn bill!!! Why offer a service that you have no idea how to work. Hate this place. When you call the office the lady kelly acts like its my fault!!! No it's you and your horrible company's fault!!!! I'm on auto pay so they can collect interest! SCAM!!! read more

Probably the worst experience I have ever had. Terrible customer service and generally disorganized on every level. They sent me one of their clients personal information and address by accident. How would you feel if your information was sent to a stranger? I strongly recommend doing business with other reliable companies. After switching from Hocon almost 6 months ago I haven't had to contact the new company because they are so transparent and honest. No surprises or price hikes with our new company. read more

Several years ago, I contracted with Hocon to install a 1000 gallon underground propane tank at my house. The installation process was smooth and I had no issues with that. Part of the reason for installing this large of a tank was to take advantage of better pricing for "larger" deliveries. Rather than go on automatic delivery where they may only deliver a small amount, I would call them and schedule a large delivery when needed - thereby reducing their delivery costs. The reward would be better propane pricing for me. This worked fine for the first couple of deliveries - but on subsequent deliveries, my price skyrocketed. I called to discuss, but they were not willing to budge unless I went onto automatic delivery, which was still a high price per gallon and defeated the whole purpose of the big tank. I moved to another company that offers amazing prices on a pre-buy program, and includes automatic delivery at no additional cost - so now I get best of both worlds! read more

If i could rate Hocon a zero, I would. Our family has had only issues with them as our residential propane provider. Terrible customer service and outrageous prices are just two of the many issues with this company. I would advise anyone/everyone to steer clear of them...only a headache (trust me)! read more

Aweful, poor communication between accounts, operations, delivery and management. Nobody knows whats going on, no managerial oversight between the departments when a billing mistake made the ops group go rogue and seize the regulator without telling us, or any other group at their office. Never in my life have I had such an awful experience with any company! I had them over this week to upgrade my service. The techs damaged my hot water system doing a simple upgrade then shut down my hot water. Not telling me until 4pm (past quitting time).Techs told me that someone would call me later that afternoon or following morning to schedule a repair. No call was made. When I called to follow up I found that they booked a followup visit 3 days later without checking with me. To make matters worse they refuse to send any one in the meantime to turn on my hot water. I have a family with a 2 year old baby. Needless to say the ad hoc stove water baths are not in the schedule. What really got my goat is that I had called 4 times during the day to try and escalate the issue. Each time I called I was brushed off and was told they would call me back. Never once received a call. AVOID these fools like the plague. There are several other higher rated services in the area that will appreciate your business. Lesson learned. read more
