I'm really happy with New England Propane. Their service techs are great- very reliable, come on time, do the work well, and they give me a feeling that they know what they are doing which makes me feel safe. Also, the prices for service are really fair- I had them convert and install a dryer, repair some shoddy plumbing done by my builder, and do a safety check. I've only had a couple deliveries so far but they were really reasonable compared to the market price for propane. So far so good! read more

I inherited New England Propane as my propane supplier when I moved to my home in 2016. We just had a small tank for cooking but early on when we ran out of propane on a holiday weekend, they came out to fill the tank. The customer service is fantastic and they are reliable. Fast forward to the present, New England Propane came through while I was getting my pool built. Connor, in particular have been responsive to my requests, advised me on my options and really came through for me just before Thanksgiving to make sure the heat was hooked up so my kids could enjoy the hot tub. We've been using New England since 2012, and have had zero problems with them. The only negative was that after our first full year of service, we got hit with an unexpected $260 surcharge. The reason? We didn't use enough propane to justify their operating costs. Apparently, renting the tank and buying enough propane to fill it up was not enough. This requirement was in fact in the agreement we signed, but that said, it was not very clear to us. We ultimately bought the tank from them, thereby erasing the need to meet their quota and also because it makes more financial sense. Being rookies to the propane market I wish they would have explained everything to us, but it's our responsibility as customers to know what we're getting into. It was a good lesson to learn. That said, we look forward to using New England Propane for the foreseeable future. read more

Recently bought has house that had a leased tank from these guys. they sent a rude letter after only owning the house for 30 days demanding we contact them. Then followed up with certified mail. After calling and researching their price was way too high. They took the tank and the gas in it without refunding me a dime. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I'm in the process of planning for the installation of a 22 kw whole house generator. I use Mitchell in Danbury for my heating oil, so naturally I initially called them for a quote on the install of propane tank/tanks and to find out what my options were. The salesman from Mitchell came out and honestly, had I not known, I would have thought he worked for a competitor company. Left me baffled, with very few options, in fact, only provided me with one viable option, but made that sound as if it was going to be a real troublesome project. I couldn't understand, as I know people install generators all the time! I was then referred to New England Propane. That is how I met Connor Shortell, one of the sales consultants for the company. Connor provided me with all kinds of options, multiple tanks, one 500 gallon tank, location options for the tanks, etc. it was the complete opposite experience of what transpired the previous day with the Mitchell Fuel representative. Connor was courteous, professional, discussed cost options and really took the time to thoroughly explain the process. I received the quote for the project in writing the next day. I'm absolutely going with New England Propane and in fact, because of Connor, I'm considering switching all of my fuel choices/needs to New England Propane. Sales representatives have such an enormous impact on a company. When greeted with such respect and provided with such professionalism and courtesy, it makes a huge difference in the mind of a customer! Our landlord called them Friday to open an account so that we could have propane. We've been out for a week during the Coronavirus. This company said he did not call and they could not help us. I told them that we have two kids and are in a pandemic so could they check their records again. They call Monday at 1230 after we've had no propane all weekend to say they would deliver it. Then after hearing nothing else from them they said that they will not reopen the account at 330 pm further making it impossible for us to get propane. This company is unbelievable. Who treats people like this during a pandemic. Shameful. Please use another company ASAP or this could be you. read more

All was good until delivery number 5 when they upped the price by 30% citing low usage over the past year even though it has been only 9 months since service was started. Still, total gas delivered was over 500 gallons, which doesn't look like low usage to me. I see this as a bait- and- switch tactic. While investigation this company I notice that they are not registered to do business in New York State. BTW the gas company I replaced them with delivered 225 gallons at 2.09 against the NE Propane price of 3.55 making the new supplier about 40% less. The continuing lesson is to shop around and don't allow "automatic" delivery, which seems to mean a vendor can automatically charge whatever they feel like. read more

This company is really to avoid. Be aware .... They will charge you a lot if your consumption is not high enough for them. For instance, they charged me more than $5.00 a gallon last year! So, this year I decided to move to a new company with a more reasonable price of about $2.00 a gallon and then asked New England Propane to pick up their tank. Surprise, they charged me $135 just to move the tank from my back yard to their truck! Think twice before using this company .... read more
