The original oil furnace in this circa 1988 home failed inspection this year due to a cracked heat exchanger coil and the release of CO into the 1 zone forced air heating. We had Glen Noble and his team in to evaluate our entire HVAC system. They came up with/installed a cost effective & energy efficient solution using a propane fired Navien Combi wall mounted boiler feeding a new hydro air heat exchanger and a new Heil 5 Ton central AC unit, augmented by 2 Mitsubishi mini-split HVAC units to overcome the single zone ductwork in this 2 story mid-century modern home. The job included planting a 500 gal propane tank in the ground, removal of the original oil tank, oil furnace, oil hot water heater, heat exchanger & A/C unit. We are very pleased with Glen/Ed & their team's work!

I transferred service to my name and I should have known right way when they sent my proposal in the wrong name that they were sloppy and careless (exactly what I want in a company that delivers explosive products to my home...). They insisted on doing a leak test, even though they had filled the tanks two weeks before I bought the house. They billed me for the service, but the contractor who was on-site says that they never entered the building and that they never did any work. I called multiple times to ask about the bill and they always said that they would call me back - they didn't. They sent me to their collections department and I kept referring back to the Waterbury and Derby offices to no avail. I finally got so tired of the run around that I just paid the $100. Then they started delivering propane and the real trouble started. Our property has three propane tanks on it that were in my proposal and that they had previously filled and serviced. Hell, their name is plastered on a tank that is 20 feet from my front door... I had negotiated a rate for all three tanks. On delivery, they only offered that rate on my two main tanks and a rate that was 25% higher for the largest tank on the property that was near empty. I disputed the charge with the driver (who is very nice and remembers the former owner and the house from many years of service). The driver said to dispute it with the office. I did dispute it and after many cycles of being on hold I was assured that the rate would be adjusted. It was not. They tacked on late fees and, again, sent it to collections within a month of filling the tank. I disputed it again and was told that it would be adjusted and I agreed to pay the adjusted amount. On two subsequent fills, they billed me at the 25% higher rate. Each time I disputed and they told me they would adjust. They didn't. They sent me additional late fees on the balances that I was told would be credited for overbilling at the incorrect rate. Here we are six months and many hours on hold later. I have already switched to another provider who is local and wonderful (I will post a very positive Yelp review for them next). I am still untangling from the nightmare that was dealing with Suburban Propane. I wish I could leave less than one star. Once I get this resolved and the weather gets warmer I will paint over their advertisement on the tanks near my front door. I wouldn't recommend these clowns to my worst enemies.

There was finally a decision and I was sent an estimate to sign. Part of the contract is that any damage done to the property is not their fault and I signed because I think this is pretty standard. All the the workers they sent were great, EXCEPT. it appears the quote I signed and paid for was not at all complete, so to dig the trench was another $2600.00. Then the surge protector was not added so that was another $650.00 These upcharges just kept coming. The Tank was NOT buried as I has asked, but is above the ground and a real eyesore. They willed the tank without asking my permission. The damage to the property is terrible and I have no way to repair it. The last people who came said they would check back, but I have never heard from them. I saved 20 years for this work and to have the mess, and all those up-charges has been terrible. The photos show some of the damage. Valiant said they would leave oil which they did not, they said they would come back and set up an App which they did NOT, they said they would contact me about an extended warranty which they did NOT. There were supposed to contact me about service and they did NOT. It was beena miserable experience. Now I have a generator which may or may not work I am out almost $30,000.. 20 years of saving.
