IBG is an excellent service related company whom always provides me with fast service, with best prices as well. Their phone answering staff has always accommodated my immediate needs for propane delivery in any type weather conditions. For me it remains a pleasure to have good business relations with Ideal Bottle Gas, like Jumpin' Jack Flash (The Rolling Stones), they're a Gas, Gas, Gas. read more

Was a great company until Petro took over. Now they want cars moved, and gates opened. I've been a customer for 25 plus years. Never had this problem beforehand. read more

I made the first call to IDEAL to ask the price and early delivery date on 1/24/2025 Friday. MARK in Ideal Bottle said that the price is $2.989/G for 800G propane and early delivery date is 1/27/2025 Monday. I told MARK that I will ask other company if they can give me a low price and early delivery date. Because I can not find early delivery date of the propane company(my tank is nearly empty), I made the second call to IDEAL on 1/24/2025 Friday, Bill in IDEAL took my call and I made my order of Monday delivery of 1/27/2025 on 1/24/2025 Friday. On Monday 1/27/2025, I called IDEAL to ask them what time they will delivery the propane to my house at 9:00am, they said it will be within two~thee hours. IDEAL deliveried the propane to my house at 12;00pm. However, they charged me the price at $3.129/G for 850G. It cost me $110.5 plus tax more. Today (Tuesday), I come to my office to check my original order record of $2.989/G. I call IDEAL to ask them the reason why they charge me $3.129/G, not $2.989/G. They said that I did not order the propane on Friday and ordered the propane on the Monday (price is $3.129/G) . IDEAL offer me 7cent/G credit only, not 13 cent/G credit. The IDEAL BOTTLE is not reliable company, be careful! read more

Did a great job, no complaints. Very happy. The most important thing is do what you say you are going to do when you promise to do it. Something that is really lacking in our area of Wading River. read more

I recently switch my propane company to Ideal they were great to deal with did everything they said they would so glad to no longer deal with Paraco read more

I'm still working with the company as the parts I need for my gas insert fire place have yet to come in. So far the customer service has been amazing and I really like dealing with Ray and company read more

As a homeowner we were so happy with Ideal Gas. They installed a propane tank and placed gas lines underground, they had to dig trenches around our sprinkler system snd they were so professional and took great care not to damage anything and were so neat and meticulous with the clean up. I would highly recommend them! read more

Best Price around. 1/2 as much as garden depot. Team is very nice also, quick easy check out

Very easy to deal with. Efficient, reasonable prices. Very happy with the service and the providers.

In my 18 years in my home I have never had a propane company as awesome as Ideal. I have gone through 4 companies in my years here. Twice with Paraco who bought out my other suppliers. Paraco are the absolute worst. With every delivery (after they took over a company) my rate increased, with EVERY delivery and when you call to cancel they want to negotiate a rate. Ideal raised my rate ONCE in 2 years for 2 cents! They have the lowest rate I ever paid. Best one I could find when I switched. They are by far the best out there, I will tell anyone who has or needs a propane company to switch to them. We just changed over to natural gas and I was so sad to cancel my service because of the awesome service I had with them. If you need a new propane company IDEAL is the only way to go. read more

I won't be getting gas anywhere else . I do have two tanks so I always have a back up read more

Outstanding Company -- We get our Home Propane cooking needs by Ideal as well as filling our Bar-B-Que tanks from them. Everything about this company is First rate, Reliable, very reasonably priced no matter your needs and the place is Spotless -- office and service yard is always clean and comfortable -- Staff is always friendly and the owner is a Gentleman that treats everyone with courtesy -- I guess you can tell I really like this company read more

Ray and his whole team are professional, reliable, personable, and accommodating. We acquired a gas stove, but did not have connection to natural gas (electric only). We looked into getting connected to natural gas, but the process seemed too long for our purposes. We can't be happier with our choice to go with propane. From the first call, there was no pressure. Everything was explained patiently and in detail. They sold us what we needed; no more, no less. They were on time for every appointment and there is little to no wait to speak with someone in the office. The finished product looks fantastic. The installers treated my home like it was theirs. Thank you!! read more

I was a customer for a 5 years , every Year the came the broke my gate , plus put a large tank , which was i never used more than half , but according to them I had to pay for a full tank, even if I only used 1/4 of a tank , they Also broke my gate four times , due to the fact they didn't call to let me know they were coming and the dogs were outside, this year again they showed up but there was a lock on my new fence and gate , never called , so I maybe a appointment for Monday, they call and said cod, which I ask if they could leave a bill in the mailbox, because I work two hospital jobs , so they took the tank and took off , Ray the manager was disrespectful and rude , ever year they screw me out of money, because I pay for propane that I don't use , due to the fact they put a larger tank then I need , please don't use this propane company, believe there's better propane company, i so happy with my new company , very professional read more

My family recently purchased a home that uses propane gas for everything (heat, hot water, cooking, etc), the builder left us with the information for the company who installed the temporary tank, however they never returned our calls to get an estimate on a bigger tank or at the very least to refill the tank they put in place. With all of that said after a google and Yelp search we found Ideal Bottle Gas. They were everything that you would expect from any company that you are reaching out to for a service. They came out right away, gave us an estimate within 24 hours and were able to install a bigger temporary tank, while we waited to receive permits from the town to install 3 bigger tanks. When I saw we were running low on gas on the temporary, they came out the next day to refill the tank although we were set to receive the bigger tanks later that week. Great company, great customer service! read more

I've had propane for 2.5 years and out of the blue when I'm almost on empty (less than 10%) they tell me they will not be making a delivery because of my AC being less than 10feet from the propane tank. Me and my 5 kids are now sitting in a house with no heat and will be charged $75 because of two empty tanks because of this "law" without any warning. This is unjust and just outrageous that they can refuse you to have heat knowing there is a 7 month out as well as 4 other toddlers in the home. Think twice about using this company. read more

Top notch service from this family owned/run business. This company is superior in service above all the rest of the gas companies on Long Island. I will never ever go back to Paraco or Bay gas...Ray actually genuinely cares about providing his customers with great service. Use them..you will not regret it! read more

!!DON'T DON'T STOP!!!!!!! HORRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE!!!!!! i call in to ask a question. Since this is family owned company they love to treat people like shit the charge me over 700 dollars to refill my gas tank it was out for months i had no problem paying it when i call to ask why they didn't told me tank was off. i receive a attitude and the resolution of this guy was i will not service you. his driver was so rude it was not even funny if you miserable at your job is not my fault i hope this read more

After 6 months and being knowledgable enough to know life goes on, I gave Ideal a second chance. Guess what? I couldn't be happier with the service I receive. After meeting a few times on numerous jobs sites its plain too see that the customer is their specialty. Great prices, and the service is spot on. They're 3 for 3 with me and my clients. Theres 4 more to go which I'm sure theyll be 7 for 7 when done with this quarters builds. read more

Ray Sr. (Owner) and his entire team are top notch! We used IDEAL to replace a propane tank from another company. Ray Sr. took time out of his day on a weekend to personally come to my home to troubleshoot some placement issues prior to the install date. Total gentleman, personable, and completly honest. Eric arrived a couple of days later to complete the install and was aces! Their prices are extremely fair and better than anyone else i quoted. It's reassuring to know that trustworthy companies like IDEAL still exist. I highly recommend IDEAL for all your propane needs!!!! read more

The owner is so nice! Ideal gas company came to my home the next day after another gas company told me I had a gas leak. There was no leak. They hooked me up and now I have gas. Thank you Ray read more

We used Ideal to switch out some old propane tanks when we bought a new house. The gentleman that came to our house was one of the nicest, honest and most professional people that I've had the pleasure of working with/meeting. I even made a mistake and told them the wrong time to come to our house and they re-arranged their schedule to work with when I could be home. I'd recommend them to anyone. read more

We purchased a Generac standby generator recently. Had a few propane people come in for quotes. Ideal gave us a rough estimate over the phone and then came by for a sight survey. They were very thorough and knowledgeable. Some of the others we called were very expensive or didn't even show up for their appointment. That really put us off. Ideal came back with a very reasonable quote and scheduled the installation. They came in, did an excellent job, and everything works exactly as we expected it too. Even the generator installation people were impressed with the propane installation and asked for a business card. Great people. Great prices. We have to family members locally that are getting standby generators too. We're definitely going to use these guys again. read more

This is the worst company ever !!! I called them in early November to get propane tanks and must have called them a dozen times there after and I keep on getting the run around & Excuses. They NEVER call back to even schedule an appointment. Its now January and they still have not responded. Trust me this company is NOT interested in new customers and treats them like garbage STAY AWAY read more

I decided to use Ideal based on these reviews and the poor service of everyone else I called. Ideal turned out to be great, showed up when they said, did the work they said, called when they were suppose to. They were head and shoulders above any other company I called in Suffolk county. read more
