Let's face it, carrying propane in your car is not ideal, so why not have it delivered. The propane guys are a local dealer specializing in barbeque sales, and propane fills but offer the convenience of delivering propane to your front door. I've used them several times for Propane delivery and have not been disappointed with their next-day delivery service. Some folks have questioned if the tanks are filled to their capacity, but having sensors connected to my tanks allow me to see how much propane is in the tank visually. Both delivery's had roughly an 85% fill. I'm sure not filled because of expansion. I highly suggest using their services, and if you're looking for a new BBQ or smoker, I recommend The Propane Guys! read more

Had them come to clean my grill. $75/half hour. The first time the guy said it was done, I went out to look at it and he never did the bottom of the grates, said I'd have to burn it off, and the grease drawer was on the ground uncleaned. The second time he said he was done, he had done the bottom of the grates and put the drawer back in the grill. I had to take care of something, so I paid him, gave him a tip, and he left. I just checked (almost three hours later), and he never cleaned the drawer. Maybe he wiped it down, but it's filthy. And he never cleaned the sizzle station burner. The top of the grate is spotless, but the bottom is disgusting. I could wipe off the grease with a paper towel, so it's not like it was baked on. And the tub that the burner sits in is filled with grease. Now I have to take it apart and do his job but no one is going to pay me $150/hour to do it. Do not hire these people to clean your grill. They're counting on you not checking and just cooking right over last year's grease. I even told the guy who made the appointment that it usually takes me over four hours to clean it, and he said it would take them an hour. Yeah, when you don't clean, it can take as long or as short as you want it to. read more

I've had some really interesting interactions with these folks over the years. I was first introduced when they dropped off a Big Green Egg at my house - a surprise 40th birthday gift from my wife and family. They have all the stuff in stock for BGE, and I think this is pretty rare for a retail outfit these days. They also stock a lot of high-end grill parts and accessories. It can get a bit pricey and the propane fills are quite obviously the loss leader, but they're reliable in terms of their stock and their expertise, which is more than you can ask of most retail operations these days. I brought in a commercial propane burner I had bought in an auction after a restaurant went out of business, and they rigged up a line and valve for it in minutes while I waited. The young woman working at the store on Saturday the 8th of July and the 6th of July. They lost a sale because she said she would have someone call me with a measurement I needed before making the purchase [she made no effort herself] No one called after 2 days and I stopped in again, she said the tech has been getting back late and would call at 3 on saturday. Still no call. I called Plessers in Babylon, they called and gave me the measurement within 5 minutes and I went there last night and purchased the grill I wanted. Delivery today, assembled. Even though their prices are quite high, I had used this place several times over the years because it was close to my home. I have noticed a gradual decline in service. They appear to be on the verge of going out of business. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This place is staffed with angry and deceitful employees who are not at all helpful. read more

Well, if you want customer service with a nasty attitude this is your place. I will NEVER purchase a Groupon Coupon from them again to fill my tank. The deal was great but not worth the aggravation, it was a horrible experience. The woman behind the counter, which I sure hope wasn't the owner, was not a good business person at all. With all the bad reviews on this place I don't understand how they are still in business. They pull a nice scam telling you your tank is expired and needs to be inspected in order to get a new sticker and get the tank filled, "that will be $10 bucks please". She literally eyeballed the tank and slapped a sticker on it. When I got home and tried to hook up the tank I noticed the seat of the valve was cracked. I went back up to the place and told the woman the valve was cracked and how could you say you inspected the tank. She said "well that's not my loss", really!!!!! I demanded my $10 back, and she did refund me, but besides that no one should ever go to this place for propane tank refills!!! I am going to check with the State or whoever it is that mandates these inspections and see what really is supposed to be done when you inspect a tank and collect a fee for doing it. I would think about using another propane and bbq supplier. I refilled a rank, that had been refilled before form there. When I took it home and tried to use it the valve was stripped and then when I tried to steel grip it loose it cracked in half. So now i have a full tank and no way to use it. I bring it back and tell the only person working there this and his response is "there's nothing I can do you're gonna have to eat it". How is that fair service? All I wanted was another tank? I tell him that his business is slinky and his next response is "bro my dads a cop". ???? What does that mean? Is that some threat? I'm glad his dad is a police officer but that he no relevance to the situation that we were in. A decent business would either refund my $ or give me a new tank of gas. I am not the type to write bad reviews but I feel an obligation to warn others and penalize this business for the way they treated my wife when she went to pick up a very expensive built in grill. One employee was asked and not told to help my wife carry the grill into our truck. He preferred not to help my wife and that was the end of it. You would think that a family business would try extra hard to provide excellent customer service. It gets worse, another workman walked in and he also refused to help carry the grill. I thought for sure two guys would have made short work of the job. It seems my sister in law was noticeably agitated and frustrated by the lack of help. The second workman who they perceived to be the owner asked, "why do you have an attitude?" Only after my nephew and son arrived to help did the BBQ get in my truck. I wanted to support the local merchants in my town so I went here. I will not spend another dime in this place. My ordeal started in or around Memorial Day of 2013 when I called them for service on my Altima 48 inch in island grill When I contacted them I told them that the burners needed to be replaced I was told that I had to pre-pay for them as the did not carry the right burners so I did The burners came in a timely fashion and they sent out their "tech" Chris to install them So far so good Chris proceeded to remove the old burners with a chiesel as the screws where rusted By using the chiesel he bent the rear support bracket that holds the vaporizer bars up he cracked the rear ceramic brick wall in the back. He told me that I needed to have the ignitors changed to which I told him to do. Which he did He said he would be back to fix the bent support and at that time he would also try to fix the rear brick wall. But in the mean time it was ok to use the bbq I gave him the ok to come back to fix what he had broken and that I would use the grill until then As I found out about 2 weeks later it was not safe to use the grill unless I constantly monitored the grill You see when he bent the rear bar it could no longer provide continual support When the bar got and expanded the bars would fall out of the support and they would fall on to the burners allowing the gas to exscape out of the buners and buner up the valve Luckly I caught the fire before something serios happened Well after speaking with Eric "the manager" many times over the summer trying to get Chris back and getting false promises I was told Chris had taken another job for the winter but I would be the first service call of the new season In April of 2014 I called The Propane Guys to schedule the appointment only to find out that Eric and Chris where no longer with them I spoke with Nicole and she said she would look in my file to verify my complaint and get back to me After waiting a week and no call I called them (notice a pattern here) and again I was given an empty promise. So I started to call every other day trying to get wnat I was promised Finally I called and the owners son picked up and he passed the phone to Mark the owner who listened to my tale and said he would speak to Chris and verify my story and get Chris to come to my home and fix what he broke Guess what no return call so I called again and got Nicole who told me Mark was trying to get to the bottom of the problem Again I waited but with no call back I called again and Nicole gave Mark the phone who immediately went off on me saying that Chris told him the grill was a piece of junk and that I was trying to get something for nothing Mark said he would personally come out to my home and resolve this one way or another but before he slammed the phone down he said to NEVER call there again After waiting over a week without a call I called Jetmore in Wantagh and made an appointment for them to come and fix the grill When Kevin (Jetmores tech) came he came with the proper tools and proceeded to fix the mess Chris left behind He also pointed out that one of the ignitors that Chris installed was not aligned properly Instead of aligning it he put a screw into the burner for it to spark off of that So inconc;usion run don't walk away from this place and NEVER look back read more
