Rubbish! Ok so we paid $200 for a boat (rc) for our kid. We take it home. Test it. It works ONE time. We bought it to go to the river. NOW It wont run, start nothing. Now, we have had it one week. The staff here will not exchange the broken boat. The "manager" said it got wet so it cannot be returned! SHE SAYS "it had 6-8 ox of water in it! Complete lie. We were standing here. It was maybe 2-3 max. Then they find its a manufacturer defect! So they call them. They wont exchange it either! now they say take it back to the manufacturer. No. My bank card will reverse the charge. We will shop elsewhere and so should every one who wants any quality products and good customer service. This is outrageous! By the way, another guy is trying to get help with an RC car, they are treating him just as badly. read more

I went in looking for mods and hop ups for my RC. Quite a few people working behind the counter. Not too many customers. One worker not busy at all. I was obviously in need for help, so I walked over to him and asked for it. He had very poor customer service. On top of that I waited 20 minutes to be rung up. There was clearly other registers open, but just so happen to be a long transaction ahead of me (literally a guy looking up stuff on his phone.) He saw me look at other customers being rung up ahead of me while I patiently waited. He didn't say anything. Enough was enough and I just walked out. Sure they have a decent selection of RC's, but other shops do too. Due to this frustrating visit, I'll rather make the drive to Mike's Hobby or Pegasus for any of my needs. read more

Called about 10 different shops could not find the part I needed. Call them and they said they had it. I drove about 2 hours just to be told they didn't have it. Shows they have it on the website, and on his computer but said he couldn't find the part. Really disappointed since I don't get a lot of time off and I really wanted to drive it during the holidays. So I said forget it for the part and I'll take this toy for my 3 year old and was told I couldn't use my card at the register it had to be cash. I was upset and my kid was hysterical, not a good trip for us but they do have a lot of stuff and a good variety which is the only reason I gave 2 stars read more

My dad and I use to race RC cars 25 years ago until that fateful day when our house got robbed. Flash forward to now and I'm a dad myself who was looking to spend quality time with my kids by getting them into a real hobby (video games don't count). The goal was to break them away from a screen and get them outdoors. Technology and time have since brought the age of Bashers, and today Traxxas has helped guys like me easily get back into the hobby. Hobbytown in Corona has further made my experience pretty awesome. They had every car & truck we could ever want, especially in the Traxxas line up. In the first 30-days my kids and I have snapped, cracked, and broken just about every part possible on each car we've bought. The crew over at Hobbytown has patiently helped us get our cars back up in running in the same day by having everything we need in stock. They have also provided guidance on what upgrade parts we should consider to keep our cars intact even after we run them full speed into light poles (yeah, that happened). Justin, Amanda, and Joe have been particularly helpful and patient with me every time I come in with a new broken part of some sort. Justin has helped me with all of my initial questions about suspension upgrade parts, Joe helped me with extra batteries, and Amanda has a wealth of knowledge in her personal memory banks (like the entire Traxxas parts catalog - seriously! That's no joke!) so that she can quickly answer your questions while multitasking with other customers. #MindBlown at how quickly she can find parts! She has also guided us on buying a few more cars so each of my kids could have their own. At the end of the day, we can walk in with any problem or need and they have everything in stock, all the time! I went in to this store and spent 150 on a little rc crawler to then find out that the remote dosent even turn on... on the box it says ready to run obviously this wasn't the case. I called and all they had to say was to try Duracell battery's I then went back to the shop next day they basically just stared at the truck and said we can't do anything... and told me to email the manufacturer. if they really cared they would just swap out the truck for a new one but they just sold me a broken car and said they can't do anything 1/10 terrible customer service this is why the other hobby town closed down bc no one wants to deal with this bs I just don't understand how u are going to run a rc shop but not take returns on rc cars they don't stand behind there products at all never buying from them again. read more

Not Happy ! Beware they gladly take your money on a $1700 rc car and tell you to bring it back for repairs . So I took it back for repairs In December and the lady there I think she's the owner told me to bring it back in February because they were so busy with Christmas stuff and I said OK that's great and when I took it back today which is February 18 she pretty much told me that they don't want to deal with the repairs they're too busy. I would go somewhere more reputable if I were you it seems like this store just wants to sell you stuff for high dollars and promise you they will back it up but they just don't. read more

This is based solely on rc related anything, I don't write reviews but reading a lot of the bs ones here compelled me to write one and makes me wonder if because of the pandemic maybe a lot of people that would not normally be into RC are blindly going into it and blaming them for their lack of knowledge. Jamie and Adrian have both been incredibly helpful with helping me find what I need. If it's not in stock it's not the fault of either one or if they gave you what you wanted and it didn't work not their fault, when in doubt of what you need ask them they'll guide you in the right direction. Very knowledgeable on all things rc, well Most of them. I love supporting local brick and mortar stores but I felt like I wasn't rc nerdy enough to waste their time. A little bit of rc snobbery. It happens in any industry when you get too much knowledge and not enough patients or humbleness to take time and explain stuff. I'd go more for my questions and wouldn't mind paying a little extra for parts verses online. But after purchasing a very expensive truck there I felt like I was wasting there time trying to get more info when I went back a couple Times for parts and accessories. If I could rate this 0 stars I definitely would. I went into the hobby store looking for a battery charger I picked up he battery charger and asked a worker what the exchange policy and or refund was for it. I went to go put it back because they don't exchange electronics and I didn't want to risk it especially because it wasn't cheap. As I walked out of the store, already in the parking lot, a worker came out and interrogated me, asking if I put the charger back. Being accused of a thief for no reason was the worst. They should pay more attention to their customers than talking their asses off to the other workers. Then as I got into my car the worker stays outside just staring at my car and then goes back into the store and comes back out with another worker just standing outside the store looking at my car. There are horrible people that work here, I would not go here again and I will not recommend this hobby store to anyone. read more

This place has a nice selection and decent prices but ZERO common sense. I had two of their coupons, each would take $20 off a purchase, one specific for an RC car and the other for a purchase of $100 or more. I picked out a $200 car for my son and about $170 in other accessories .... The manager would not ring it up in two purchases to allow me to use the two different coupons, she said the owner wouldn't allow it and I would have to come in a different day ... Which I don't have time to do. The result, I bought only the car from them with the one coupon and left everything else, which I ordered on Amazon with 2 day shipping, and saved money to boot. They lost a sale and frankly a customer ... So much for trying to shop locally and help a small business. read more

The staff assist me in purchasing my first car and show me everything I needed to get up and running to spank my homies on the dirt track. I come here for my RC trucks. They have a pretty good selection ranging from lower end beginner vehicles to the advanced and pricey end of the scale. Good parts supply too for the vehicles that they do carry. I've browsed the store a few times and noticed they carry a wide variety of models, RC helicopters, science kits for the kids, all kind of hobby products. I don't understand the complaints on service, I'm always promptly greeted and helped, and phone calls are answered quickly. read more

I live in Long Beach but was in Corona to visit some family that live there. I love to check out hobby stores. So when I saw this place I stopped in. It is a very nice store. Even my wife was impressed as they have a nice selection of items that she can use to teach our sons since they are home schooled. They have something for everyone as far as hobbies go. They have trains, various types of RC subjects, models, etc. To be honest I did not have as much time as I would have liked to have taken to go through the place but from what I saw it is a great place. They have a great selection of paints and tools as well as a very nice selection of plastic models. I found tools there that I have not found at other hobby shops. I believe you can never have too many tools for model building :) If I lived close by I would be there all the time. You guys in Corona are lucky to have a one stop hobby shop right there for you all to enjoy. When I first walked in I was greeted by a gentleman who gave me a quick run down of the store. It was cool to be treated in such a friendly way. I was impressed with the friendly service even when I went to pay for my items. When I first walked in I was very impressed with the place. I look forward to my next trip to Corona because I will definitely be making a stop at Hobby Town. read more
