I recently communicated with the nail technician who had previously done my nails, and he did a fabulous job. I was so pleased with his work that I generously tipped him $50 for my manicure and pedicure. I had been communicating with him through TikTok about returning to the salon because I needed my nails shortened and trimmed down, the edges buffed, and a new polish color applied -- "I'm Not a Waitress Red." I specifically communicated what I wanted done. I also told him that he did not personally have to perform the service and that another technician could do it. I was coming back from Brighton and currently live in Englewood, so I make a considerable drive to come to this salon. When I arrived, I was placed with a female technician who began trimming my nails. However, she then started buffing around the edges near my cuticles and along the sides of my nails, which was not what I had requested. When I asked her to proceed with the polish, she would paint one nail, wipe it off, then move to another nail and wipe that one off as well. She eventually told me that she could not polish my nails because they did not look right. I explained to her that I was not asking her to make them "look right." I had asked for a very specific service: shorten and trim my nails, lightly buff them, and apply the new polish color. She was the one who had buffed around the edges and sides of my nails. At that point, I became very uncomfortable because it appeared to me that the situation was being turned into a reason to recommend or charge me for a rebase service that I had never requested and had not discussed with the technician I had originally communicated with. Given my previous experience at this salon, the situation felt intentional rather than simply a misunderstanding. Communication is extremely important to me when receiving a nail service. I need to be able to clearly communicate with my technician in English about exactly what I want done to my nails. Unfortunately, that did not happen during this visit. I am posting this review to warn other customers to be very clear about the service they are requesting and to make sure there is clear communication before any additional work is performed or recommended. I am not questioning the talent of every technician at this salon. My previous technician did an excellent job, which is why I returned and was willing to make the long drive. However, my experience this time was extremely disappointing, and I believe customers deserve to know about it.

I went in a couple of days ago spent $80 in total I gave them my credit card and said please deduct five dollars as was stated in my text. The owner said it was too late that they had already run my credit card and they couldn't do it and that I should just wait for next time. I said just void that and run it again and he refused to do it. I don't understand if they know me as a customer and have my phone number in their system that the discount is not done automatically.
