Got my nails done here less than a week ago. I did gel. Multiple nails are already lifting and two have chipped. They look like they were done 3 weeks ago rather than 5 days ago. I also got a pedicure. They put me in the water but didn't have a person available to do the pedicure for an hour so the water was freezing by the time they got to me. There also were either no jets in the foot bath or they just didn't turn them on. I feel like they rushed thru my appointment once they did get to me even though there was no one else waiting. Hobby Nails is by far the best nail salon I have ever been to! Everyone in the salon does a great job! Kelly and Sam are my go to nail techs though and neither of them ever disappoint. They take their time on my nails and toes no matter how busy the salon is. I have had my nails dipped here and absolutely loved it, but I prefer acrylic and they come out just the way I like every single time. Went in for pedicure ($65 plus tip) and service began right away. Selected the spa pedicure that included callus removal and added gel polish. My feet are no smoother than when i arrived. 20 min later, if that, I'm done. The person next to me ordered the same service and was provided with much more scrub and a tool for callus removal. When leaving I saw the person who did my pedicure continue the service with a manicure client. I believe i was squeezed in between services and received sub par and rushed service. No callus removal, cuticle oil, or cleaning under nails other than big toes. Go elsewhere if you want to receive what you're actually paying for. I am so disappointed. read more

I came in for a pedicure and manicure mid day in a Friday. The salon was pretty busy, but they got me in quickly. During my pedicure the gal clipped my nails a tad to shape them and then took the nail file to them. When she filed my big toe it hurt and I winced but she kept going. Later at home, I saw why it hurt (and still does 3 days later). The edge of the file cut a slice into my skin. It is very tender. Then, she wasn't able to open the polish I i chose, so she selected a similar color. My manicure was going fine until she went to paint my nails. She did one nail, asked if I liked the color, and I told her yes, but I wish i had looked more closely. She then got up to get another bottle of something to put drops in the polish I chose because apparently it was too thick. I wish I said something then, but I trusted that if it didn't come out well, she'd recommend another bottle. But she did not. After I paid and she finished, I spent a long time trying to dry my nails but the polish was on so thick they wouldn't cure. THREE hours later I managed to knick my nails because they still we not cured. They look lumpy and very poorly done. I will not be returning to this salon. I am sorely disappointed with both my pedi and mani. read more

This used to be my "go-to" place for pedicures. But I won't be coming back after my last visit with my daughter. I booked a kids pedicure for my daughter, decided to do gel on her since we were headed on a beach vacation. They ended up charging her as an adult, in which I argued, so they gave me $5 off. Well here we are 3 days later and 3 of her toes have completely chipped off. Def did not get my $50 worth for 3 days. I also had them do gel on my toes and they did a flower design without asking me first, and charged me $5 extra for that. The job they did on my toes was sloppy at best, super thick, and they cut one of my cuticles. Overall for $110 for two pedicures, one being on a child, I was extremely disappointed. The whole time I was there they were constant, trying to sell me on getting waxed done on my eyebrows, on my legs, all my bikini area. Got exhausting the whole time having to tell them no, when all I wanted was a pedicure. I do not recommend them and will not be going back. She didn't ask me which one I wanted and assumed I wanted the basic pedi, so that's fine except with the basic pedi comes a callus removal and leg massage which I never got and she charged me full price. I wish it were possible to give negative stars. I went in for a 1:30 appointment for a full set of acrylic nails. I waited almost 30 minutes to be seen. Maria did my nails very quickly and did nothing for my cuticles. After I left, I noticed that my left hand had 2 crooked nails. I sent pictures to a friend, and she said it looked like the nails were poorly applied and it looked like I had a week of growth. I was furious and definitely did not trust this place to fix it. I went somewhere else and got everything removed. Probably shouldn't have done that because Hobby Nails is refusing to give me a refund. I am never, ever going back. read more

I'll start by saying the woman doing my nails was super nice and personable, so three stars for that since I did enjoy the conversation. She was genuinely pleasant which you don't always get to experience in some nail salons. Unfortunately my manicure looked like my 6 year old painted my nails :/. I was in a rush to get out of there because I had to wait 30 min for my mani/pedi otherwise I would've asked for it to be fixed. There was a lot of nail polish on the sides of my fingers that really should've been cleaned up. Also, the polish chipped after one day, and five days later it looks like a few week old manicure. Kinda bummed because this place is close to my house but I'd only go back if I had a lot of time to spare to make sure everything was painted and cleaned up properly. When u make an appointment walk in and notice others waiting and ask if it will be a long wait and told no and end up waiting and walk out after 30 minutes is just RUDE. The lady puts me in a chair adds water ask to pick a color and I wait for 15 minutes while water is now cold and told be right with u. Continued to sit in now cold water 10 minutes passes and only 3 workers I finally walked out. The owner says sorry. The right thing to do is be honest and say we overbooked customers and u will now be waiting. We all have schedules and I just wasted an hour of my time. Rude and bad way to do business. Another customer said she was sitting in her cold water for 30 minutes. Whow. I honestly hv never waited this long with an appointment. read more

I don't usually post reviews, let alone negative ones. But I want to help other future pedicure-lovers. I appreciate these types of reviews because pedicures are one of my only relaxing things I do, so I want to pass along my experience. I went to this salon on a Saturday morning just before they opened. I didn't realize that I was there at 9:22 and the ladies seemed rather annoyed that I was there before their 9:30 opening time, but their doors were already open so I went in. When I finally was told to sit in the pedicure chair, I saw a dead bug next to the tub where I was putting my shoes. I'm not sure if it was a cricket or cockroach, but either way it was so gross and unsanitary. There was also mold or mildew on the outside of the tub near the floor. I am not one to be rude, so I just sat in the chair and hoped things would get better. Other women started coming in the door shortly after, and it seemed like the staff was overwhelmed with the volume of customers. I've had MANY pedicures in my life, and I hate to say that this was the worst one I've experienced. The best word to describe it is SLOPPY. My nails were cut at an angle, not straight and my polish was unevenly applied. I expected to leave without calluses on my feet since every other pedicure I've gotten in 14 years has given me soft, moisturized feet...but they were just as rough and dry as when I walked in he door. In the middle of my pedicure, my nail tech was told to go work on someone else, so I had another strange lady "finish" up my pedicure. That was ANYTHING but relaxing. The whole experience left me feeling so grossed out. I understand that I only paid $25 for the pedicure, but I expected to at least get the quality that I paid for. I could have saved my money and done a better job myself, LITERALLY. I hope that I'm the only one who's had this experience, and that the salon is otherwise great. But I'm not going back to find out. read more

She started my pedicure, with gloves on, a previous client asked if she could go. The lady working on my feet, stopped went directly to her and assisted her in removing the toe separators, spraying and wiping down that chair with the dirty towels and came back to me.....never changing gloves. Was willing to change once I asked, but I shouldn't have to ask. The package of instruments appeared to be in a "clean" package but it wasn't sealed as if it truly was clean and sterilized. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. I did ask to have the exfoliating block at the end.....they were going to charge me $3. Why? If this is trash....why charge to keep something out of the landfill? This doesn't make sense to me, yet with the unsealed instruments and other sanitation issues.....it def make me wonder. The massage with the upgraded pedicure was nothing to write home about. I use to come here all the time and my nails would turn out amazing! I went today and did a simple French tip full set, my nails are different lengths and very bulky. Some of my nails look like the old school duckbill nails and others do not. My nail tech accidentally cut her self and made sure she didn't get her blood into me, some of her blood got onto her hand file and used the same file from start to finish. Like I said before, they use to do a great job on my nails but I will not go back to pay $45 for uneven nails. read more

I had such high hopes for this place due to its close proximity to my home. I was left to sit for over 30 minutes and not acknowledged until after someone who came in 20 minutes behind me was checked in ahead of me. My basic pedicure was rushed (18 minutes from start to finish) My nails were filed unevenly, no callous removal was performed, my cuticles weren't pushed back or trimmed. And the polish is EVERYWHERE, including my shoes. All of the technicians were rushed despite it being a Monday afternoon, and the clients that were there before me were left for their pedicures to dry and then ignored as the employees forgot they were supposed to have manicures as well. I refused the manicure I had initially asked for and got the hell out before I wasted anymore money. I won't be back and I would encourage others to take their business somewhere else as well. read more

Great place to get nails done! Often my grandma takes my sister and I for a "girls day" to get a mani/pedi, and this is the best place we've found in Thornton. Now, the staff recognizes us when we walk in and are always so kind! While sometimes the designs my sister and I have gotten are a little underwhelming, it is a very pleasant place and we have great conversations with the staff. I went there for a shellac manicure. The nail tech told me she could do what I wanted (a very simple design) but she could not. She also did not put enough layers on my nails so the color was not consistent. Within 4 days the shellac was peeling off my nails. I went back and asked for my money back and they said no. They said if I had come back the next day they could have fixed it. Poor customer service in my opinion. Also, don't tell a customer you can do something if you cannot. read more
