They do have good sales, I will give them that. But every time I've been there (5 or 6 times now), the service has SUCKED. I'm not sure if it's due in part to understaffing, or just laziness from (some of) the staff.... but I always end up waiting a ridiculously long time in line. The last time I was there, I had a 15 minute wait... which would have been fine, except that there were 3 or 4 other employees standing around by the registers, chatting with eachother. While a very pleasant (and very overwhelmed) middle aged woman manned the register ALL BY HER SELF. I felt awful for the lady.... her coworkers were totally oblivious to the line, even when she requested back-up. Overall, I'd rather save myself the hassle and go to Michael's. Do you like to decorate or are you that DIY person? Well this is the store for you! Hobby Lobby offers so many different options when it comes to decorating your house. I feel that they keep up with the trends. The prices are reasonable so you're not breaking the bank. I have always been able to find thing on sale or just at a low price. Plus their holiday selections are pretty cool. If you like to sew they have a big selection of material to make your quilts, dresses etc... I am always impressed with this store and the wonderful selection of decor items I can choose from. I love shopping at this store. The merchandise they have is so varied and quality is similar to similar stores like Michael's. Hobby Lobby is a great place to get anything in the crafts field, as they carry virtually anything you can think of, from beads to shrink wrap, and from model airplanes to modern art. I particularly enjoy going to the discount section, where damaged items go, and to be honest, some of the stuff Is pretty beat up, but other things might just have a ding or a scratch, and I can save up to 50% (just have to be handy enough to fix things up a bit). It's a fun place to be, if you do anything artistic, you will probably find yourself here on at least a couple of occasions! read more

There was a problem on their end and there were no apologies, no rush to fix the error and no compensation for the error. Totally disappointed & frustrated. Will go elsewhere next time. read more

Loved this place for a while. I don't mind that it's closed on Sundays as I work on the weekends. The problem I find is that checkout usually takes about 20 minutes, sometimes longer. Tons of checkout stations with very little staff. 6 stations, 2 open with 30 people in line at one in the afternoon. Usually you hear the manager get on the speaker "cashiers to the front". Not here. Just wait in line, wasting away the day. It wouldn't bother me as much if I didn't see 20 or more employees walking around all over the store. Even with the long lines, this was the only store that sold Dill buttons. If you aren't someone that uses buttons that often, this means nothing. Dill makes high quality buttons for blazers and suits. Metal and plastic. The Hobby Lobby brand and most other brands are plastic crap. Recently HL has stopped selling Dill and only offers the store brand so they can do 2 for 1 specials. At least I don't have to bother with the lines anymore. Now I order online. read more

Well, I'm not sure where to go with some of these reviews. I recently went in here and had a fine experience. A couple of people asked if they could help, but for the most part I was left alone, which is just the way I like it. Customers were friendly and we were chatting while wandering around. I did run into the same employee a few times so maybe she was following me, but I have no problem with any employee watching me as long as they want. When I asked one person for help, they were in the middle of something else so when they ruefully looked at their task and started to walk over, I smiled and told them to take their time and finish and I'd be over in a specific aisle. I've worked retail. I get it. They expressed their thanks for understanding and came over shortly. When I went to checkout, there was a line, just as every single Hobby Lobby store I have visited has had. Cashiers were friendly and wrapped my purchases with care, probably causing a delay for others. And I had 2 $100 dollar bills that they checked to be real, which is policy in every store I've been in for the past 10 yrs. Thing is, I'm a blue-eyed, blonde, white girl. So if being followed, being left alone, having to wait for help, enduring a line for checkout, and a cashier checking cash to make sure it's not a fake is assessed as racist behavior, welllll. If I could give this place 0 stars I would!!! The stuff is fine. That's not the issue. It's the STAFF! I was checking out tonight when one of the employees (Erica) went up to the lady who was checking me out and started talking about a man who she thought was stealing. Little did this lady know it was my fiancé. His car broke down as he was getting off from work so he walked to where I was at and came in to get the car keys so he could cool off in the car AC. She started accusing him and talking nasty things about him just because he had his work bag with him. We confronted her and she looked like a deer in headlights. We even spoke to the "co manager" and she did NOTHING. These people do not care about it. Hobby lobby is great for their stuff but DO NOT go to this one if you want "great customer service". I purchased a table easel from Hobby Lobby. The price was $17.99. I thought that was a little high priced, but bought it anyway. I brought it home and decided it didn't work in the place I wanted it to. When I returned it with my receipt a week later, the cashier said, "I don't think you paid that much for it." I showed her the receipt and she said, "I don't think so!" I told her that I thought it was a little high-priced when I bought it, but assured her that was the price. She said again, "I don't think so." I was feeling very uncomfortable when she sent an assistant to check on the price...the assistant returned saying, "*17.99". No apology. I didn't know whether to think I was an idiot for paying too much...or I was changing price tags. read more

I visit this store frequently and every time I come in the staff is incredibly rude. I'm rarely even greeted at the register, no eye contact, no friendly inflections, no "thanks for coming in." Today a female employee rolled her eyes at me whilst waiting in a check out line. It was an exceptionally rude day so it finally prompted a review. Consider training the employees to be kind to every customer. I will say, the younger staff seems to be the only members on board who are friendly and pleasant to interact with. read more

I have a love hate relationship with Hobby Lobby. They have unique stuff that I just don't see other places but other than that, I feel like the prices are always just a little to high. They don't accept competitors coupons like Michaels and Joannes does. The sales don't seem to be as frequent or as good as other craft stores. I guess I am always surprised at the total of my bill compared to everywhere else. This was my very first visit to a Hobby Lobby. I have to say I was very impressed with the size of the store and the selection they offered. In fact I wasn't able to get even half way through the store in the hour I had to spend there. The prices seemed good and the store was neat and clean. I share a similar feeling with another reviewer, I have a love hate relationship with Hobby Lobby. The store has awesome things, that cannot be found and I really like their sales that they rotate every week. What I don't like is the total unfriendly staff there... there will be staff in the isles stocking... NEVER do they say excuse me or hi how are you, I find it really annoying. Especially because every time I go there they seem to be tearing up and restocking an isle, so it happens all the time. High quality products, great selection. Only problem is they are severely lacking on good customer service. Try to use a coupon that they email you and they question it every time. Horrible customer service. You enter with a "public notice warning" on the front door about searching your bags if they want. Archaic systems. No scanners so you rely upon cashiers memorizing the weekly ads for sale items. Return policy horrendous. If it's 61 days even with a receipt no returns not even store credit, even if the item is still on the shelf. Store manager is not accomodating. If you want a receipt for your return they have to use a copy machine to print it. Almost no help in the store. Long lines for check-out & even longer for returns. No educator discount like Joanne's or Michaels offers although I heard they offer a discount for LDS church members (not sure if that's true). They do have a decent selection of home decor items. read more

Hobby Lobby is awesome!!!! BLOWS Michaels away!!! I went to Hobby Lobby last night and had two 24x36 photos framed. Michael (The Wolfman) helped me out in framing and he was fantastic to work with. Everytime I go into this store I find what I need. It is very fairly priced and their clearance sales are almost cheaper than FREE!!!! Thank you to whoever invented this store! My only gripe is that they are closed on Sundays, so I guess a 'Praise the Lord" would be in order. read more

Hobby lobby makes me wish I had a home to decorate! Tons of cute decor here and craft ideas and supplies. Downside? It doesn't come cheap in most cases. Upside? There's an app with coupons, and you can find some others online...plus they often have sales, so I recommend checking back often for that item that you must have. read more

Yeah I like this place for browsing. I can find craft items that I need that Michaels or other stores won't have. Unfortunately a lot of the bigger items that are super cute for my house are way too expensive. There is no way that I'm going to pay 30 something dollars for a tiny Eiffel Tower picture for my daughters room. My experiences at Hobby Lobby have never been note worthy because their staff isn't very friendly, but today was special. I walked into the store with my 2 year old and was gawked at by what I assume to be the store manager. No greeting whatsoever, just the feeling of being judged and looked at. It kind of irritated me. After I check out, the old man is in the same spot, an empty register going over paper work. After I pay he approaches my cart and crosses his arms in front of him while looking into the cart. As if he was checking my purse I had in there. And then says in a very loud and aggressive tone "THANKS FOR COMING IN TODAY." I just rolled my eyes because I can read his body language and know what he was implying. I get it, I have tattoos and you guys are very Christian. But maybe you should spend more time training your staff at better customer service read more

I am an avid crafter and DIY'er so I go to Hobby Lobby for everything. I use to shop at the one on Gilbert Road we moved and now I have to go to this one or drive way farther! They have hands down the worse customer service service EVER!! This morning I went in for a few things and Rita was my cashier( which I have had her in the past) she is so rude, is not helpful and can not even greet you with a smile or a how's your day.... They have even basically accused me of stealing a Cricut machine my husband bought me because it was in the original liking box, even though I had he receipt. I have called the manager and reported one cashier for mumbling under her breath "good just leave we don't want you here" to a lady with a screaming 2 year old as a mom of 4 little ones I found this horrific. Needless to say she clearly still works there as I saw her this morning! This store in particular is awful, and I would not recommend going there is you can help it!! They are NOT customer service oriented at all, nor are they even cordial!!! read more

yahoo! was I ever happy that we finally have HOBBY LOBBY ! My husband...not so happy since this means I will be shopping more. (sorry honey if you are reading) LOL I grew up with Hobby Lobby being raised in Oklahoma where the store originated. The checkout process needs some work as they never seem to have enough checkers. Of course where do they these days now that I am thinking about it? I am sure with time they are new it will all get better. I am just so glad to have them. I used to have to go home, shop and then try to find a way to ship my finds.I am giving them a 4 because 5 would to me mean excellent customer service but I doubt it would even be possible to get many 5s from me on that. Yelp should implement negative stars! My visit to Hobby Lobby was breathtaking, in all the wrong ways. Customer service??? Not sure If that's a shared principle there. Had to return a 4 pack of drawing pens that my hubby purchased two days ago. I had the original receipt and all 4 pens. When we approached the counter to return the pens, we were asked the standard "is there anything wrong with the items"...answered yes and explained that 2 of the pens didn't work, they were dried out. Another employee comes to the counter, grabs the pens, and starts testing them. She was making it sound like we were in the wrong for returning the pens, because half of the pack did work. Then it turned into a battle about the packaging. The back of their receipts have the return policy...as long as you provide original purchase receipt and are within the 90 day window, you are entitled to a refund. The two women gave us so much crap for not having the packaging. We got our money back and headed to the aisle to find the replacements. We noticed THE SAME pack of markers, repackaged with the non working one missing. Apparently someone else returned some and the same exact one was dried out (and another on its way to being completely dry). They wrapped some tape around a now 3 pack of pens and placed them on the shelf for resale. I'm just beside myself when it comes to this store. Their staff is rude....plain and simple. Our cashier today was the only smiling face. I wanted to rescue her. Maybe I'll just stick with good ol' Michaels. read more

Hobby Lobby may have many crafty items at affordable pricing but BEWARE their return polciy and procedure. If you value your privacy, DO NOT BUY anything that you are uncertain about. They will DEMAND your ID information when you return an item. You have no choice. They want your PRIVATE information, which they will enter into their database, if you want a refund. They asked me for my Driver's License and told me that "corporate requires this." I told them it was outrageous, that they are invading my privacy for the simple privilege of being a customer. I will never shop there again. Most companies just require the receipt and make the transaction right off the original receipt back to your credit card...not HL. They are in the dark ages and are not to be trusted. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE that I made....don't become a customer. read more

Ok I have to write this as a warning to others who might be purchasing furniture at Hobby Lobby. Be very careful, the quality is not what you think it might be. Bought a couple bar stools in Dec. and the support piece at the bottom to rest your feet on broke in half . They do NOT take anything back, especially if it's damaged, even if I still have the receipt and it's only been 2 months. Love Hobby Lobby - I am officially a Hobby Lobby Adict - shop the sales and the prices are fabulous - plus you can find the most amazing things there - I can literally spend hours there - my husband was wondering how a person can spend that much time in a store, then I took him with me once. He gets it now, now his type of store, but he can see why I love it. Also, he loves the results of my Hobby Lobby shopping when he sees what I do to our home! He's a big, tough Redneck ( but sweet as can be) and likes to show guests the cozy additions in our home decor! Between my decorating history, pinterest, and Hobby Lobby, I could totally just immerse myself in full time decorating!!! Great place to shop. Always have 50% OFF some items. They switch every week so you can always find different stuff on sale. THE BAD part is the staff. I have never had a pleasant experience with the staff. I have asked where something is by someone fixing a shelf and she was so bothered that I interrupted her. And there is usually long lines up front. The manager that always seems to be there is a lady with gray hair and glasses. She is not nice at all. Always rude! read more

He not only showed me where things were but recommended things when I asked him. I'll take off a star just because there is poor management when it comes to employee scheduling - why does there need to be 20 employees walking around placing little inventory items? Yes I am one of those girls that cannot go into hobby lobby without walking around the entire store, and yes I go almost every week to see what is on sale. Needless to say I have spent a fair amount of time and money here and this location is by far the worst I have been in yet. Aside from it being small and hard to shop due to half there decor items being hung so high to the ceiling you miss half of what they have to offer the staff is somewhat rude and clueless. There needs to be an improved system for figuring out what is and isn't 50% off because I have been charged wrong almost every time I have been checked out here. There is one cashier who always rings everything I get as 50%off even if it isn't. My last visit here I was wandering through the home decor when I cut between two cashiers hiding behind aisles to Which I later assumed they were spying on a new hire trying to figure out what she was supposed to be doing? Why act so childish to where customers can see employees walking around immaturely stalking fellow co workers?! read more
