I just moved to St. Augustine and love Hobby Lobby so I thought I'd really like this place......wrong! The cashier didn't even acknowledge me and was extremely busy talking and joking with 3 of her co workers while checking me out. Horrible. Having a whole conversation with them..... geesh! Love this store, it is never super packed with people so I can walk around and really look and take my time without feeling overwhelmed with the amount of people. The place is perfectly organized and the staff is super friendly. Went there with my kids and purchased some items that were rather large to carry out while getting kids in car, they offered to hold them at the door so I could load kids up and drive closer to the door, when I got closer they immediately helped me load up no questions asked. They have a lot of detective items there, that they just leave on the shelves for sale. For example, statues with broken off pieces, they have a person that stands at the front and makes everyone feel like a criminal just like Walmart does, it happens a lot where they don't have enough staff to handle their customer load and the customers end up having to pay for it with their time... the biggest thing I dislike about this store is they don't have a scanning system, which slows everything down and there's a lot of human error that comes with that, for example, two of the items that I purchased were not properly punched in with the sales price. Once I got to my car I noticed it then I had to go back in to adjust the price, but it wasted my time because I had to wait in line all over again, and then I had to wait for the cashier to fix the problem. I feel VERY embarrassed and this store has left an uneasy impression. I am a mother of an 8 month old. I got HL gift cards for my birthday (16th). During the trip, my son was hungry and I prepared a bottle for him out of the diaper bag all the while an employee was staring me down maybe suspecting i was stealing? Cashier was unpleasant and the store manager was staring at me as well on my way out! I would appreciate it if I was approached about the situation rather than being stared at and treated poorly. A great place to find arts and crafts items. They do coupons which is 40% off one item. I needed to look for Halloween stuff to make gift tags four our employees. I looked around the store and found some cool stuff. At the end, I ended up with Halloween ribbons and metallic markers. I guess I should be more prepared on what I want to do because it can get a bit exhausting. So my idea was tie the bags with the ribbons and write the names on ribbon. I guess it's crafty, right? I like Hobby Lobby. I sew as a hobby and find some things I need here if I'm making myself a shirt or need to hem all my pants (the joys of being very short). There is a good selection of items for whatever DIY project you're tackling. They also have lots of different fabrics for sewing hobbies, which is very versatile if you're going to sew new clothes or curtains. Plenty of house ware items as well. From clocks to home decor to photo frames, there is a good selection. If you're one of those who likes to decorate for each holiday, Hobby Lobby has a great selection of items for each season. And they usually have a sale or some kind of deal that makes it worth it to come here instead of Home Goods. They also have some accent furniture for sale as well. Sometimes they are pretty good deals, sometimes you're better off going to a competitor store for a better deal. The parking lot however, is a weird layout. But there is always plenty of parking. The staff are pretty friendly and they enjoy working there. If you never been to Hobby Lobby, check it out. They seem to have something for everyone, even if you're not a DIY-er. read more

While I am not a fan of Hobby Lobby this was one of our many stops today to look for some new home decor. I didn't really see anything in here that I was a fan of but the location of the store is very convenient being up the street from my apartment. We walked around in here for a good little while and I believe my friend and I still left with nothing. I feel that they are a little on the pricier side for what you actually get but for others they are very reasonable. It is a little hard to get the attention of someone who works here for some assistance but the good thing is I've never been in here and it was super busy. You don't have to worry about it being overly crowded or any long lines at the check out counter and a perk is that the check out clerks are always smiling and will attempt to make small talk if that is something that you like from people in customer service, I know I do. Overall if you are looking for nice things and are willing to spend a bit more than you would at other places Hobby Lobby would be a great place for you to start. read more

I love the variety this store offers! They have everything from silk floral, furniture, home decor, gardening, arts and crafts and seasonal items. I do however wish that their prices were a bit lower. It seems that Michael's has them beat with price and also locations. I am looking forward to the new store on the Northside. I've been doing a lot of price checking and have found that hobby lobby is the place to go if your looking for something anything remotely related to arts and crafts. Their party supplies are very cute and they have plenty of themes/colors to choose from. However they are the lowest priced if and only if you use your 40% coupon. But dont be fooled they only let you use one coupon per person per day. And even if you go with a friend or two so you can get multiple items they will drag out the check out process by making you do seperate transactions. The customer service is okay. Dont try and even bother looking for someone to help you in this gigantic warehouse of a craft store. oh and did i mention they are completely closed on sunday? Overall i like this place not friendly but not mean. not too expensive but not super duper cheap and resonably priced only if you have your coupon. read more

I spend way too much money at this place. Home Decor and craft supplies runneth over! They have a 40 percent off any item coupon for items not on sale, just look online at their website and show your phone at checkout. They also have a sale for 50 percent off different categories such as silk flowers, wooden or metal wall decor, party supplies, scrap booking supplies, jewelry making, art supplies etc. They will do your art or diploma framing and sell high end art style or simple picture frames and mats. Last but not least they have a sewing and fabric section that carries Kona cotton, novelty prints, ribbons, buttons and anything else you could need for that special project. The fabric is 30 percent off the marked price for cottons, and they carry a cool seasonal section for making clothes etc. The downside? Well there is rarely someone available to help because they are all over worked with stocking and cleaning leaving no extra time for helping customers. They are also closed on Sunday which is inevitably when I need something. They are super religious based and carry a lot of that sort of decor. read more

I frequent this Hobby Lobby at least once a week. I run an Etsy business and this is where I come to get my craft supplies. I like their selection of items and I can normally find what I'm looking for pretty easily. However, the customer service here needs a lot of work. When I go to check out I often have to correct the cashier because they never know what is on sale and what is not from the weekly ad. I have often had to go back into the store because my purchase was not rang up with the sale price. I have also been told that the glass decor that I'm purchasing is metal so it's not on sale. Really? The employees aren't the friendliest and when they are friendly it seems fake. The only reason why I even come here because it's very close to my home and they have what I need for my Etsy business. I hope the customer service improves though. read more

So, I absolutely love this place and all the shelves are stocked from top to bottom with any kind of crafts you could ever imagine and any kind of Christmas piece available for your decorations, crafting, or wrapping needs. My only complaint is there were only three registers open and a line of at least 10 people per register if not more. I waited 14 minutes just to get some bells and ribbon for my child's classroom winter party crafts and I thought it was a little excessive since there were four other empty registers and plenty of staff on hand. read more
