I could get lost in the Bali Cargo Company. So many gorgeous items from cloths to jewelry and local artistry. I fell in love with the jewelry. Pretty earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings made in Bali. I purchased a silver bracelet and my friend some earrings. And the shopping bag was so cute I could use it as a gift bag. The cloths were beautiful too. I saw lots of shirts and dresses. I loved the colors and patterns. The local art included several items for the wall and some sculptures too. So many unique finds. If you are looking for a gift that someone will actually use, I suggest stopping in and checking out their inventory. read more

I absolutely loved this quaint and unique shop. This one is more upscale and pricier than the other shops I had been in. But, the quality of the interesting items for sale were top notch. I did manage to buy a wooden hair bun stake to push through my hair to keep it in a bun for $15.00. It was very nice and made well. The elderly lady was just as charming as she could be. I asked my boyfriend to come into the dressing room with me to help tie the dresses I was trying on and we weren't even in there for 10 minutes and I was still trying dresses on and the employee told us we had to leave because he was in there helping me. We were very clearly talking about the dresses and not doing anything inappropriate. She could have said something when he first went in as she was standing right next to him. She handled the situation very poorly and disrespected both of us and made us feel uncomfortable. Items were cute but overpriced. Not worth the time spent in there. read more

I was introduced to this awesome little spot by a friend today. What a hidden gem. Stylish bohemian style clothing and beautiful prints that are unique and nice quality material. She also has a beautiful collection of beaded jewelry and silver pieces of jewelry. The furniture is nice sturdy wood and decorative pieces as well as gorgeous mirrors to decorate your beach condo or cottage. Friendly and helpful. I stumbled across this store while waiting for a friend to meet me when I was down by the beach, and I am so happy that I did. I actually was late to meet my friend (whoops) because I spent quite a bit of time looking at everything. There are so many unique items all over the store, but I must say that the jewelry stole my attention! There are so many wonderful pieces it was hard to choose what I would purchase, but I eventually decided. The staff is wonderful as well! This is a GREAT hidden gem in Neptune Beach. In fact, I sort of wish I owned every single thing in the store. Bali offers up a beautiful, unique selection of earthy, colorful home decor with splashes of clothing, jewelry and knick knacks scattered throughout. The intricately carved wood pieces, jewel tone fabrics and one-of-a-kind lighting creations create a cool, calm ambiance that makes me want to curl up and hang out right there in the store. The ladies of Bali are always super friendly and very knowledgable about where their products come from; always a good thing! I've bought wedding, birthday and housewarming gifts from Bali in the past and they always go over amazingly. Think Eat Pray Love meets a funky, rustic beach house. Beautimous! read more

Wow this store was incredible, was diverse, beautiful selection, and all size friendly. We were obsessed with everything. It was pricy, but very unique items so understandable. Hopefully all the proceeds go to the diverse cultures the attire and merchandise is based off of. The merchants were snobby and rude and made us feel like our business wasn't valued. This is literally a hidden treasure at Jax Beach, from the diverse offerings to the friendly owner/proprietor and staff. Located right off 3rd Ave. just south of Beach Blvd. by the fire station, the unassuming exterior barely hints at what Bali Cargo Company has to offer inside. There are two floors crammed with striking handmade crafts, artwork, decor items and furniture from Indonesia. For an easy (but probably unfair) reference, you might think of this place as one-part Pier One, and one-part World Market, but perhaps even better in some important ways, including the way they do business in Bali. You can read the "Info" part of their website for greater detail if you're interested, but it comes down to sustainability and the kind of global commerce relationships that benefit the artists and craftspeople a bit more than major chain stores. (Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on P1 or World Market. Just passing along some noteworthy context.) Wandered in here looking for Christmas gift inspiration, and left with two perfect items that they gift-wrapped quite nicely. Another cool touch: they gave me a coupon worth 10% of my total purchase toward a future purchase in the next month. I'm a fan of clever marketing, and in fact there were a couple more things there that LDC would love, so bonus points for that. The Bali Cargo Company website is pretty buggy, but don't let that stop you from a visit. Think of it as part of the quirky charm of an actual small, local/global business. Cute items. Poor customer service. My sister and our kids were shopping. The two younger children were 4 & 8 and were with myself and my 16 yr old twins the entire time and were constantly monitored. We were making sure that the kids were careful, however the entire time the sales person followed us around at the expense of watching anyone else. She would pick up every item that we touch. I personally placed the items my kids picked up back in the same spot and the same position it was in before they picked it up. When I confronted her with the obvious way she was watching us as if we were going to steal something she claimed it is her job. I have worked in customer service in the retail industry before so that was an sorry excuse. Unfortunately for her there was money she could have made off of us as there are several earrings I liked and my daughter founds a mirror. My sister often brings people from out of town to this area to shop. Never again! read more

I like this little store. It has lots of fun jewelry and funky gift items. Some of the prices are higher than I would expect and some are lower so I guess in total it is priced about right!! While I think it is geared toward the tourists I always find neat things whenever I stop in. Perfect for the hard-to-shop-for person in your life!! read more
