2 stars because we love Hobby Lobby. Minus 3 stars due to the manager on duty today, 11/24/23. Not the co-manager, the actual manager in a red button up shirt. My mom and I were happy to shop the sales rack. In the midst of grabbing a few rolls of wrapping paper, some thing sliced my mother's finger open. It wasn't the wrapping paper but the shelving or possibly broken glass that was not cleaned up properly before.. I found the manager on duty, just to let him know there was a sharp object. I didn't want another customer to hurt themselves. Unfortunately, the man showed no concern for my mother's injury or injury to additional customers. He asked if I wanted to make a report, but obviously annoyed by my presence. I explained we didn't want to make a report. I just wanted to let him know so that the sharp object could be removed for future shoppers. He said he would take care of it, however, he did not ask where it took place so I'm not sure how he intended on following up. Managers, we all know this is a simple safety practice procedure. Follow up with the hurt customer. Make sure she is okay. Correct the problem. And at the very least, show some concern. Not impressed whatsoever! read more

Hobby Lobby has some great sales... where they lose me is lazy sale signage. Things will be marked in store as on sale only to be charged full price, regardless of the store signage. They 'forgot' to take down the signs... The kicker for me was today. I purchased 3 items that were on sale, only to be charged full price - AFTER THE CASHIER VERIFIED THEY WERE ON SALE. Nothing says Christmas Spirit like one of the employees asking for a gun to kill themselves right in front of me. I always purchase online because I don't like waiting in line here for this reason it was a 45 minute wait the last time I was here. The returns cashier said I'm not allowed to get my card refunded for an online order and I can't get cash that I can only get store credit when two days prior I was given cash without issue for an online order. What is going on hobby lobby? It used to be my favorite store but I'm not gunna support a business that causes me a headache every time I support it. Also I have worked in customer service my entire life and empathize with these employees working the holiday rush but asking for a gun so you can kill yourself in front of children, customers and your fellow employees is just unacceptable. read more

Terrible customer service. Needed multiple card stock for a project and grabbed from the rack with the sale signs. Sale was not honored at the register as she said their manager earlier said they were not on sale. I finished our transaction and said I would go double check because I know there was signage and I picked from the racks with the 40% signs. I went back and saw I was correct and snapped a picture. Took the picture back up to the return check out so they could correct those items and the manager saw me and snapped at me that "those aren't on sale!" I said calmly there is a sign right in that rack and showed the picture. He said "it has to be the paper listed". I said "the sale sign is on the rack.. it should be honored" he just walked away. Terrible terrible customer service. I will go out of my way to shop a different store in the future. Awful. And clearly if you were having other customers come forward thinking those items were part of the sale.. then you need to change your signage! Come on. Do better. read more

Went here today and the store had 1 person checking people out with a line through the store. When I asked the manager to open another check out he told me he didn't have people trained!?!?! Came back just to return some things that we had purchased and something changed in our life and it was quite a bit that we had to return and everything was fine but it was taking a long time and they had a long line behind us and I had made a comment to my mom who was with me that I wish they would upgrade their system to whatever everybody else is instead of holding up the customers and the cashier Marcia snapped and said that they don't do that here and I said I know that and that's why I said I wish they would and she said they will never do that because the CEO never wants to. I know she was just trying to inform us, but she snapped about it and to me was rude so I grabbed my bags to get ready to go while my mom finished up the return transaction and Marcia for some reason, got upset and started saying stuff about that and then she called the manager over and explained to her why I was upset and I really could care less. I just made the comment to my mom about the system. I don't know why she wanted to make a scene and then she kept going on about how she was just trying to hurry and get us out of here. Well, if she had just kept finishing what she was doing instead of trying to explain to me how she wasn't being rude the transaction could've gone a lot smoother. She didn't need to make a scene in front of all the other customers, which was very embarrassing. Hobby Lobby is a great place to buy a little house warming gift for someone. Lots of unique wall hangings, picture frames and knick knacks. They also offer some great decorations for whatever upcoming holiday is upon us -- stuff you don't see at every other store. As far as craft supplies go, you're better off going to Michael's, it's cheaper and they have a better selection. Whenever I'm working on a project I always go to both places and I end up getting the bulk of my stuff from Michael's. The staff isn't very helpful or friendly, they're always pissed off and stocking shelves. Also, they are closed on Sunday because it's the Sabbath, which I respect but that's when I do most of my shopping so it doesn't help me out. read more

I love the new Hobby Lobby! And it opened just in time for my visit to Mesa Arizona! I understand they opened Thursday but their official Grand Opening is today, June 14th. Since we don't have any of these stores in San Diego I try to visit them in other towns when I am there and this one is about the nicest I've been to. They were having such killer sales I spent a bundle yesterday and am headed back over there today to visit the departments I ran out of time to see yestereday. I bought home decor items last Friday at full price and they went to 50% off on the following Monday. I saved my receipt and all the tags to get back the discount difference and I was told that I need to bring back the actual items. The items are all on display on my walls up high and it would be a pain to take them down, bring them into the store and then take them back home and put them back up on the walls and shelves. read more

If you want to avoid the possible spread of COVID-avoid this store. I watched them retrieve carts from the parking lot and return them to the "disinfected and ready for us area"-not a spray bottle or rag in sight. Mask mandate note being followed, yes the staff have masks-many just for show and have their noses exposed. Countless customers wandering without masks. There's tons of art tools, fabric, yarn, model kits, items for jewelry making, stamps and paper crafting items, silk flowers, and home decor things like mirrors, wall hangings, and even some furniture. I've found pinewood derbyitems for cub scouts, and I love picking up the science kits for fun birthday gifts for little ones. Warning Hobby Lobby is the black hole of sparkly home decor. It can cause time lapses and quantum physics like incidents where you walk in and it feels like 15 minutes, but in actuality it's been 2 days. Woman report loosing entire afternoons. It's very similar to the missing sock theory. 2 go in the washer and only one comes out of the dryer. The HoLo (hobby Lobby) causes excitement and heavy perspiration. Not sure if I'm just jonesing for a craft project or if it's the Meat sweats from keto. I frequently have to pee right when I enter the store because I get so excited. I've tried every crafting, painting, wood craft, metal working, sewing, yarning thing imaginable at the HoLo. They have lots of options to choose from and tons of supplies. Lots of wood, paper crafting, party, glass, clay, yarn, fabric, and floral. The art markers and canvas painting not so much. Sometimes, I feel like the store is over priced and they mark stuff up just because it will be 40% off (the real price anyways) eventually. Some stuff is priced pretty reasonably. Lately, the lines have been a pinch intense. 2 registers and 14 moms waiting to check out is like waiting in line at the post office before Christmas in a retirement community where everyone has 100 questions about commemorative stamps and specialty box rates. I highly recommend setting a timer on your phone so you don't loose days or forget to go home and make dinner. read more

So my husband went here bc he had a coupon and needed some oil paint. He found a few that were clearance priced with a large orange clearance pricetag. When he got home, he realized they had overcharged him. So the next day, he went back with the receipt and the items for an adjustment. They gladly refunded the difference...only after they got security to check the footage of the original purchase...?!? What?? I guess some people keep orange clearance stickers at their homes and add them to items after the leave a store???? So either Hobby Lobby videotapes all their transactions (if they are zoomed in to see your price tags, they can also read your text messages and whatever is on your phone) or else they lied. Either way, it's really disturbing. Won't be back. read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of how rude the employees are here. One in particular, Kathleen. Simply because of her attitude towards a question I had on an item. Stood in line for 15-20 mins due to only having one check out open and 7 people waiting. I watched multiple employees walk by in pairs just staring at the line. Nobody was called for help to relieve the line. Absolutely ridiculous! My 4 year old son was almost ran over by another employee rolling a huge cart thru and aisle. No "excuse me" or "I'm sorry". Took numerous phone calls and emails for them to tell me they don't know what happened, but they would put it back through. Had to argue to get the sale price that was in affect on initial order, as well as the free shipping they offered at original order. Now, it has been a week since they supposedly got it straight. Every time I go to that store I go to the register with the expectation that the items I chose were on sale. 9 times out of 10 I get the "oh it's only a certain brand". Seriously!?
