Love hobby lobby and never drove far enough to get to one in LA. So glad this location opened up. This is like a Michael's or a Barnes & Noble for me- I go in for 1 thing and come out with half the store and my credit cards just look at me like don't blame us. Abundant parking, friendly staff and a giant store I can get lost in with ideas. It's 1/2 heaven, 1/2 dangerous, mainly for the credit cards mentioned above. I have never had a good experience at this store. Their custom framing department is a joke and so is their customer service. I recently started decorating my gaming table, and at the time was driving around Victory Blvd when I noticed the Hobby Lobby was already open (still under construction the last time I drove by) so I decided to stop in and check out the shop. Great store, but the customer service... Not so much. We walked in and felt like we had walked into a Michael's on steroids, it's a great store. We spent some time looking around and finally got to the cashier (Christina, I believe) to check out. She had a very snobby, and irritated look on her face and proceeded to scan our items. Being from Oklahoma, I have always loved Hobby Lobby. When I found out one was opening in Burbank, I almost cried with joy. Seriously, this place is amazing. I bought a ton of decor for my wedding this month, most of it 1/2 off! My very artistic future mother-in-law painted a gorgeous watercolor for my fiance and me. I took it to Hobby Lobby, and Robert in the framing department helped me pick out the perfect frame and mats! We are so very pleased with the result and the price! I've been to this store several times since 9/2014 & I just LOVE it! I bought my son a tuxedo shirt (which came with a bow tie) for $12 (I used the 40% of coupon)! Went to Joann's w/my daughter to buy flowers for a crown she wanted to make for Halloween but they were very limited in variety & extremely over priced so I decided to bring her to HL...she couldn't believe not only the variety & how much prettier/realistic looking the flowers were at HL but that she didn't spend an arm & a leg! The staff has always been very helpful, non-discriminatory as others have claimed (I'm a pretty dark, Hispanic woman). Was just there yesterday with my kids to get supplies for science projects (poster boards, paint, brushes, modeling clay, styrofoam balls) plus I picked up some Christmas decorations for my little tree at work...spent right under $40. Can't do that at Michael's! read more

Every time I come here I leave with a big smile, Robert and Eric in the framing department have assisted me both times I've been there and they are the nicest people to work with, they're always in a good mood, great costumer service and entertaining conversations! This man is an amazing worker and person, he taught me a lot about framing and what to do with my piece since it was going up in a gallery the same day. So I've been waiting for a Hobby Lobby FOREVER by my area and the God's heard me LOL. I have to say I went in there for the first time just to check it out, W O W ! But anyway I went for the second time today to go get some Sewing Patterns & Some Fabric. I needed help with knowing how much fabric I would need & Kristine I believe gladly showed me how much I needed she opened the pattern for me and helped me out I felt very confident about it, (Usually at Joanns they make you feel rushed and dont care they just cut and go never have a good amount of employees). Also at one point I forgot my purse by the pattern table and one of the workers asked her if she knew who it belonged to and she remembered which I'm very thankful for! Thanks to the other worker also for asking her. Over all I will be coming back loved the vibe lots of items everything I looked for was stocked! read more

Came To the store with my niece becuz she says they have sooo many really cool things, but dang where the heck did u get your staff, from the management to the workers they really need some customer service classes or skills they have none!!! I have been there over four times in the 2 weeks and not one persons speaks or says hello or has a friendly vibe in there! I only went back cuz there is sooo much stuff I still wanted to see!I'm wondering r they just miserable working in there cuz it really seems that way! It is too bad cuz it is the happiest place to go and the staff should at least put on their happy face or at least fake it cuz it kinda made me depressed! Wont ever go back to that location it makes me feel depressed! The management looks really unhappy, I'm praying for your store that you will hire some people that r pleasant and will bring in the happy vibes and get rid of the dead souls!LOL oh and stop following the little black girls, WE DONT ALL STEAL!!! I have visited this store twice in the past month. The first time was a few weeks ago. I was impressed by their selection of home decor. I personally felt that Michael's has a better craft department. When it came time to check out, only one cashier was open and there were numerous people ahead of us. The cashier was slow and even though I only had a handful of other items I could get elsewhere, I decided to stay in line because I figured they were short on staff. Yesterday I went back and this time I bought some posters and a few other items. The line was long. Again there was only one cashier. There was also a woman taking returns. The cashier had finished ringing up the woman before me and then he proceeded to take her returns as well. The line behind me continued to grow. They called for an additional cashier. I had to wait in line behind only 1 person for close to 5-10 minutes for only 5 items. As much as I like the home decor and the prices, it's not worth the aggravation. read more

I have a problem with this place, and it's their selection. There are too many items to choose from when I am searching for something particular. It's always something, i.e., the wrong color, too tall, too heavy, wrong material, etc. Ultimately though, I always find the exact thing that I'm looking for. Checking out is always somewhat of a chore, usually only one checkstand open. Sometimes there appears to be no checkstand open and I will have to ask. I love this store so much. Haven't ever had a problem. The best thing about this store is that I have been able to bring down prices on slightly damaged things. We tried this today and The cashier Sheryll (curly short hair, glasses, heavier set) was extremely rude. Zero costumer service. We asked a question about pricing and she was super rude. Very condescending, snarky, and sarcastic. We weren't being rude. Smiling and talking to her very kindly even after she was like sarcastically laughing in our faces. We said have a nice day at the end (even though in my head I wanted to ask why she was being completely rude), she said "are you gonna pay?" ( he forgot to press the last OK on the little key pad) we finished the transaction and she didn't even make eye contact. It was very strange. I don't care if you're having a bad day or might be annoyed with the question we are asking.... YOU are in COSTUMER SERVICE. Get it together and smile and be kind. read more

This was my first time in a Hobby Lobby. Prior to this I would go to Michael's for my painting needs. We had just finished a steak dinner in Burbank and were going to head home when I remembered my friend had mentioned this place opening. I needed a round brush so my wife and I decided to stop by. I was please to see no protestors, and my second surprise upon entering the store was a framed portrait of Jesus' Last Supper. Wow! What a breath of fresh air... a store that doesn't cave in to left wing, hatred spewing nut-jobs! The store was HUGE and organized very well. You could see entire isles dedicated to particular holidays like Christmas, Thanks Giving, etc. What surprised me the most was the amount of cool stuff they had. I'm a middle aged man, and I found myself getting excited about man-cave style decorating. Plenty of metal wall hangings relating to beer, hunting, comics, etc. There were so many things there that I had never seen before at other stores. They also have a huge selection of fake flowers that my wife was excited about. The staff was just about the most friendly I have ever seen. Not sure if this is because the store is new, hiring practices, or maybe they are happy to have decent paying jobs, but I was asked if I needed any help 4 times! One girl walked me over to the paint brush area instead of just pointing it out or mentioning an isle number. I am finding myself looking for a reason to return, even though I don't need anything right now. Please ignore the negative reviews trying to bring the average rating down because Hobby Lobby doesn't cave to religious persecution. This is an awesome store and I am a new fan. Funny enough, if not for the protests, my friend would have never mentioned this store to me and they wouldn't have gotten my business. Thanks dems. From the employees greeting me, the organization of products, the fact that this store has everything you could think of is AMAZING and even more the help of the employees. I am aware this is a Christian store and one employee stood out the most and represented what your company stands for is Jeanne. Jeanne asked if I needed any help, asked what I was looking for and lead me to what I was looking for and even suggested other items I may be interested in. As Jeanne helped me she was still able to multi task and help others around me while still helping me. I only noticed all of this because I have been in customer service my whole life. Framing Services - Take II I finally took my original painting in to be custom framed and am very happy that I did. I got lucky, Robert was working (see my previous review) and he helped me pick out a frame, a mat and a fillet. I knew that I wanted a dark frame and possibly a fillet; the mat, I was on the fence about. However, I'm very happy that I went with Robert's picks for the mat and fillet - he was right! I also had museum glass installed. The framing was going to take about ten days. It was to be ready on a Wednesday and I received a call on Tuesday that it was ready for pick up. I went in on Thursday, again, got lucky, Robert was working and he presented me with the finished piece. Needless to say, it looked GREAT! I was very pleased with everything; the quality, the materials used and the back looked just as good as the front. The piece was wrapped in plastic with cardboard corners on each corner - very professional. The cost was less than half than what I would normally pay (at Aaron Brothers or Michael's). When it was time to pay, Robert carried my piece up to the register, I paid for it and he carried it out to the car for me as well; this is part of their custom framing procedure. Talk about service! So overall, my review of the framing services at Hobby Lobby is five star! If you're looking for good customer service and excellent framing services, be sure and see Robert. I sadly discovered this place only about a year ago, I was blown away when I walked inside. I didn't realize all of the different things they had here, everything from arts and crafts to home decor. And the parking is quite decent as well. Don't have to fight over a parking spot, definitely love this place read more
