Took me quite some time to come across a suitable optometrist that accepts FSA as a form of payment. I hit the jackpot with this location! Had such a pleasant experience obtaining a new pair of Dolce & Gabbana glasses and 2 sets of Air Optix colored contacts. 1) After my thorough eye examination, the clerk took time to show me over 10 pairs of glasses in order me to make a final decision. 2) Kept me in the loop of the delivery status of my order via consistent voicemails. Overall, I was happy with how easy they made the process of getting exactly what I needed. Happy camper; satisfied customer. Both the female and male front desk clerks are physically attractive if that's any consultation. read more

My husband and I had been in need of eye exams and found HMY on First Ave. after a frustrating experience elsewhere. We got two appointments quickly and went for exams and new glasses today. Dixie greeted us and signed us in upon arrival. She explained what our insurance covered and helped us with our pre-visit with Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim saw us and was very thorough with his explanation of his findings after the exams. Dixie spent a lot of time (very patiently) helping us to choose frames and decide what lenses to buy. Both Dixie and Dr. Kim were friendly and helpful and we are very happy to have found this lovely place to care for our eyes from now on. read more

I had a fantastic experience here when I was looking for new glasses. The selection of frames was very extensive, and the person working in the store offered a lot of helpful suggestions and helped me find great frames for me, and didn't try to upsell me at all--he didn't push expensive frames at all. Then they turned around my order 2 days earlier than expected and immediately let me know that my glasses were ready. I couldn't be happier with my experience at HMY and I very much appreciated the friendly, sincere, helpful service. I'll definitely return to this store in the future. read more

I had the best experience at this family run business. They we're so kind and accommodating to helping me find the most comfortable & fashionable pair of glasses for my frame :) will be coming here for a long time. read more

I repaired multiple watches there. From battery change to complete inside machine exchange- always coming back! Highly recommended

my glasses frames fell apart randomly, and needed to find a fix immediately. the sweetest man helped me out, was very kind and thoughtful, and did it quickly! highly recommend for any glasses needs. their frames also looked really cute and will be coming back to get my new frames later this year. read more

I brought in some frames that I had, and they made them into prescription sunglasses in such a quick turnaround time. I was thoroughly impressed and pleased. Highly recommend!! read more

HMY Vision was SO helpful and friendly from the minute i called. They got me new lenses in two pairs of frames in one day. Great prices, great staff, great products, and GREAT quality lemnses. read more

Very good! Prices are competitive, staff are friendly, and the owner graciously provided me with a complimentary blue light coating when I mentioned I sat at a computer daily for work. I tried on many different pairs of glasses, deciding on two (reading & distance) with the help of the owner and a young employee who I assume is his son. Overall, I was very happy with my experience and plan to return! read more

I have never loved shopping for glasses until today! The customer service there is amazing! They are so welcoming and right away try to help you with the perfect glasses you need. I'm going to be real with you, I only walked in just to look at the options they had and I ended up walking out buying a pair and tempted to buy another pair! I only regret not knowing about this place sooner! The father and son team is very sweet and even gives you opinions on what glasses look nice on you (I was very indecisive, thank you for helping me choose! I love them!) They even gave me a discount on blue light and UV protection, what more can I ask for? Honestly, I struck my luck finding this wonderful place. Trust me, if you are in doubt about coming here, just do it! You won't regret it! Overall, it's the best customer service out there and super fair price, it will be honestly the best deal you find in the city. Thank you guys! I'll be coming in the future for another pair of glasses! read more

Listen closely to me, these guys are truly wonderful people. This father and son team take very good care of me. The first time that I dropped in to just get a screw for my glasses, they treated me like family. I've spent over $400 there since then!! Great customer service and a fair price as well. Tell them Chase sent you!!! Ha!! read more

We are visiting our children and grandchildren when my wife's eye glass frame broke we found HMY vision on yelp. They we're great, very professional they were able to provide a new frame to fit my wife's lens and the price was very reasonable. We highly recommend them read more

Eli is great, he gave me a good deal and free eye exam, they have a huge inventory. Couple months later I came again for my second pair. But they closed on Saturday. read more

Excellent selection of frames, very timely service - the best part is that the two fellows here are very patient, talk you through the process, and even though they didn't accept my insurance they offered a discount because I found the perfect frames and pleaded a bit. A far better, easier and more casual experience than a chain or a high-end boutique. read more

Looking at mixed reviews just now, I'm not sure if I would have chosen HMY, but I am so very glad I did. My aged glasses broke and I needed a new pair ASAP. The owner was able to read my prescription from the broken pair, he measured my PD, pupillary distance, and showed me about 100 frames, maybe more. I chose a pair of beautiful frames and I now have the best pair of glasses I've ever had and the very next day! Not even 24 hours and they are perfect. Thank you HMY! P.S. and yes he added anti scratch and anti glare, but I'm glad he did. read more

Couldn't ask for better service! I went in having a vague idea of what I wanted, and the father/son duo was incredible. They were patient with my indecisiveness, let me try on over 20 pairs. Found a perfect pair of glasses at a great price! Highly recommend!! read more

Grrrrrrrrrr this establishment can take their lips and press them firmly across my buttocks!!! Stay clear of this place as it's a rip off. I arrived for my appointment early to find the doctor sitting at the front counter talking to the help about what he had had for breakfast. Neither one of them acknowledged my presence until after the doctor finished talking about his meal (Strike 1). Once in the exam room, the doctor was going so quickly back and forth between the lenses on the eye exam machine (which had not been cleaned and had a cloud on them) that I could not really see (Strike 2). Then he seemed to become offended and started using big words when I mentioned what I had been told by my eye doctor in FL (Strike 3). In the middle of the exam his phone began ringing and he had the never to say "I don't know whether that's mine or your's (O_o Ummmmmm I had placed my phone on silent before I even entered the establishment jackass (Strike 4). Before and after the apt. I asked if I could just get rx or frames. I was told I would have to pay for exam because it was a package deal for purchase of lenses and frames. They would not even let me just use the $150 credit to buy frames alone and get my rx. So not only did I pay $39 for a worthless voucher, I paid $55 just to be able to get my rx smh (Strike 5). I could have gone somewhere else and had them call for my rx, but I couldn't trust that. I should have just gone to one of the discount places and called it a day instead of buying the voucher. Lesson learned you get what you pay for. read more

Walked away from this placed feeling like I just got scammed. Paid for the living social and walked out with nothing not even my eye exam results. I told them I wasn't interested in any of their frames and HMY guy told me I can't have my eye exam results unless I buy a frame. He basically threw 20 pairs at me and told me to try them on, when I showed a little bit of interest in one of them he asked me if I wanted anti-glare which is additional $75, they were nickel and diming me for everything. Even with the Living Social ($260 off), everything ended up being almost $300. When I looked at the frames I saw a pair that had $180 price on the lens but the plastic price tag on it said $260. This place is so shady and I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

First of all, love the collection. They are always so amazing with their services too. I bought three glasses from them and they are my absolute top three! Great deals! read more

I had living social voucher, seemed like they had such a great deal, went there today, felt like everything was rip off. they sell frames a lot more expensive than other places and charge lenses separately, seemed like living social voucher useless didn't give you a great deal as they promised you. if you purchased a voucher, you will end up spending another $200 or more. If you plan to use extra $235 i would rather go to other place where they have nicer and decent frames. I will go ahead and exchange my living social voucher. you have 90days to get it exchanged. read more

Stay away from HMY Vision! I also purchased a Living Social Deal for an eye exam + glasses. When I arrived, I looked around and decided that there weren't any frames there that I would consider purchasing so I decided to just get my eyes checked so that I could have an updated prescription if I find glasses elsewhere. They confirmed my Living Social Voucher was paid for and then sent me in to see the doctor. The doctor wasn't very thorough and basically just confirmed that my vision had not changed. I told them that I will not be making a frame purchase and left. The next day, I realized they never gave me a copy of my prescription. I figured if I needed it, I could just call. A half a year later, I went to purchase glasses from a different store. When they called HMY Vision for my prescription, HMY told my optometrist that yes, they can confirm I did indeed have an exam but they will NOT give them my prescription because I DIDN'T BUY ANYTHING THERE! At first, they tried telling my optometrist that I didn't pay and that I walked out. We reminded HMY that I paid with the Living Social Voucher and left bcause I didn't want to buy any glasses. After a lot of "back and forth" HMY finally gave my optometrist my prescription but said "We really shouldn't be giving this to you because she didn't buy anything here." My optometrist confirmed that HMY could have their license revoked for that. If this happens to you and you do not get a copy of your prescription - REPORT THEM! read more

Went in on Wednesday to get an eye exam and walked out with a pair of Prada frames and Crizal coating lenses. I wasn't planning on purchasing a pair but with the selection they have I started to look around. After the quick eye exam, Eli showed me a few frames on sale and I couldn't walk out without purchasing one. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Will definitely refer my friends here. I will post the picture of the frames as well... Thank you Eli!! read more

Hmy Vision - Optometrists Near Me - Manhattan, New York

Found store from google searches to repair my Swiss flex glasses. Repair was reasonable so I came in to see their selection of glasses. Ended up getting 2 pairs from their great customer service & fair prices. Very good experience! read more

My favorite optical shop! Amazing service, quality products and warm atmosphere. Recommended!

eli is a gentleman and very nice service. great selection here and good prices :) the optometrist is only in-house on wednesdays so keep that in mind but I'm very happy I came here. I ended up getting two frames instead of one! read more

Great selection, prices & service. I've used them for years. Highly recommend them looking for new glasses.

Do not go here. Went for a simple adjustment to my glasses and the man who worked there took them in the back, heated them, and bent them. This was not what I wanted so I looked at the glasses and the heating had ruined the lenses, cracking them in concentric circles. I said I wanted them back and the guy gave them to his friend who tried cleaning them (which of course didn't work since the lenses were cracked!). When I then tried to leave the store they screamed after me that they would replace the lenses for me, which ok thanks but no thanks! read more

I've had an eye exam here, ordered a replacement lens for my favorite pair of frames, and gone in for adjustments. They're able to help you quickly and efficiently, and are priced well for a local store in NYC. Though I can see why they'd have difficulty competing price wise with a larger chain, I never get service like this at a bigger store so I definitely don't mind paying a little more for the convenience of coming here instead of to a store close to my parents in Southern NJ. While I've never purchased frames here, they do have a great selection. read more

The doctor that made us the eye test was very professional and pleasent.

This place is a rip off got a deal off living social 35 for an eye exam 260 towards glasses... Got there not one of there frames was below 250 and on top of that lenses were 130 without any upgrades... Be warned of deals with this place all designer frames nothing below the 250 mark in frames no including lenses...why run a deal like this there just money hungry read more

Great selection in just about every designer and my experience has always been very satisfactory. The doctor examinations were also correct. I love this place! read more

I've been shopping at HMY Vision since 2010 and I found out about them by walking by their location on 3rd Avenue and 18th street. I have 20/20 vision but needed reading glasses and I was greeted by the owner and their son who helped me so much to find exactly what I needed. I loved their selection of designer sunglasses and frames and was really happy to be serviced by them because they made me feel like part of their family. Their optical store is warm and inviting with a large selection to choose from. The staff is great and everything was wonderful. I highly recommend them! I walked away with a fashionable pair of reading glasses at a great price. read more

Eli was awesome. Gave me a superb deal on my lens along with great fast service. I was able to get a fitting down the next day. All with a smile read more

The is the absolute ONLY place for optical or sun. I am legally blind, with very expensive taste as I work in the fashion industry, but I also am on a pretty tight budget because of how frequently my vision changes. I have been coming to HMY for a few years now, I always work with Ele who is just the best. He always shows me the top new styles, they are always on trend, and they have a really great variety of brands like Prada, Armani, Dolabani and some less expensive brands as well so it is accessible to all. I have always tried to go the Warby Parker route but their quality in lenses just is not good, and their glasses just never look good or luxe. But more than that the lenses at HMY are great. They always get me the thinnest lenses for the best price. I am use to very thick lenses Bc of my vision but Ele is a true craftsman. He has mad 6 pairs of glasses for me in the last two years as I am trying to stop wearing contacts as much, and his work is just spectacular. Recently he just went above and beyond. I bought a pair two years ago that were discontinued my the manufacturer. I ran into a poll (my fault) and the glasses broke. Ele somehow searched up and down for this Identical pair of glasses and fully replaced them. I have no idea how but he made it happen. I will go to HMY on second avenue for all of my needs!! This store makes me feel ok for not being eligible for lasik. They also have gorgeous sunglasses which you can do regular and prescription. A++++++ experience every single time. Thank you for making a impairment a fun shopping experience. read more

After reading many poor reviews I was concerned after purchasing a Living Social for HMY Vision on 3rd Ave. NYC. I knew from reading the reviews that I needed to commit to buying frames and could not just get the eye exam, it is not 100% clearly stated in the Living Social. I told the person helping me that I wanted to have a good experience at this store and in the end for the most part I did. The 2 gentlemen were friendly and one of them helped me pick out 2 pairs of frames to my liking. My eye exam was fine. I was patiently explained how the Progressives work and what my choices were as far as lens for my needs. I chose to get Progressives, they were ready to pick up in 1 week. I don't really know how much glasses cost since this was the first time I bought any but I think I got a decent price total of about $240 per pair with the glare-reduction and eye exam included. I did not like that they refused to give me anything in writing when it came to a warranty. I was told "no eyeglass industry store will provide you with this" but after browsing on-line at Lens Crafters I see that they have a 30 day warranty written on their website, exchange or money back. Here I was told in a verbal agreement that I have up to 30 days to exchange my glasses and that the frames are guaranteed for one year. Since nothing was provided in writing I can only hope that if there were a problem they would honor their word. However no business I know uses verbal agreements this day and age. They need to provide their customers with written warranties. read more
