This is a family business. Tom owns it, and his son works with him as the other mechanic. They are very happy to talk through what you need. They are very patient and not in a hurry to rush you out the door when you need to convey your problem. Trustworthy, as they were open that I didn't need pads, yet. It was unmistakable that I needed rotors. They called and said how much brake pad was left (enough), and asked uf I wanted them changed while they replaced rotors. I showed up unannounced as they opened at 0730 and my truck was done by 2 PM. I'm very pleased with their work. I love the truck. It has lots of mods, and I don't like trying out new mechanics who might screw things up. But, being new to Omaha, I need a good mechanic. Tom and his son are my new mechanics. I recommend you try them out. The building isn't much to look at, but the family running it makes up for it. They don't have a waiting room, but Tom actually drove one of his other customers home so he wouldn't be uncomfortable while his car was fixed. Now, that is customer service. Tom is a veteran - US Army.

My clock is ticking faster than young folks and I really wanted something roomy and comfortable for a large 6' 1" good eater and outdoor chef, handyman, hobbyist, for what is almost certain to be my last vehicle. But....... that budget. To come to the point - I went to Gateway on the opposite end of town from me, to look at another vehicle that ended up not being a good match for me, but, next to it was a Honda Pilot, little older, with some miles. Vehicle had some moderate work done yet, Ben offered this information without my even asking. Try getting THAT somewhere else!!! Perfect vehicle for my needs. Love it! Now it's time to talk money and I meet Ben, the co-owner and main sales force. The vehicle seemed to need a couple minor things to help make me comfortable with the purchase, and these were done, WITH a LOANER car, thanks to Ben. Dave at the front counter is Ben's right hand man, and very capable. Every employee I bumped into or interacted with at Gateway was at minimum professional, and as I understand it they are all ASE certified! Between them all, the agreed minor repairs were completed, my full smile installed, deal struck. A good deal. In closing, now many hundreds of miles later, my vehicle is running and behaving perfectly. I bought this at a fair price and Dave and Ben did what they said they would do, and did so respectfully and promptly. They handed me information NO used car seller would ever do, and kept their promises. I would not recommend anyone buy a used vehicle before looking at what Gateway has to offer. I never thought you could actually trust a used car sales operation, but, I was wrong. Semper Fi

They kept my 1999 Civic running smooth for 26 years. Before that a 1987 Civic. The quality and level of trustworthiness sets them as the only shop to take your Honda. Over the years, they have always provided superior customer service and the highest value on what I have paid for repair and maintenance. They will even advise on situations, example. "We need to replace your radiator. While we are working on this, we can also take care of the water pump and a few other items as it is due for maintenance. This will save you several hundred dollars in labor costs vs coming back in." Even several times they have provided no cost solutions if I would do a simple task... "Your engine stuttering and upon inspecting, go get this fuel additive and run a few cans through. It should solve your issue." Which it did. $20 instead of several hundred. The staff is very knowledgably, friendly and highly trained. They know their Hondas, inside and out.

I had oil change, engine and cabin filters replaced, and brake light replaced. I needed a wheel alignment, but that was not something they could do. Very reasonable pricing, and they even gave me a discount for being a UNMC employee. The drop off appointments are easy to get, but the waiting appointments book out 6 weeks or so. I got a 2001 Chevy S10 with 93k miles on it a year before. Starting a new career in IT contracting, I figured it'd be a good idea to get my beloved little rustbucket looked at. This thing was, not just abused, but neglected for several years. Joe found every last problem with the motor. The sheer scope of issues with it that Joe managed to find and repair is insane. Thank goodness I had a nest egg saved up just for such an occasion. They invited me right over to the lift to see the problems with my own eyes. When I turned the truck in the next day, they were even kind enough to drive me home since I lived in Bellevue. Not just that, but when the truck was finally done after discovering even more issues (namely a timing chain so loose it's a wonder the truck ran at all, with the valves a full eighth of a rotation behind the crankshaft) and repairing them. It was held back for another day due to starting issues traced back to the timing sensor, something he insisted on eating the cost of due to how long it's been in service (about a week). After that they were happy to pick me up. The truck since then has been running like an absolute dream. I've driven 450 miles in the span of 3 days working all across Western Iowa/Eastern Nebraska, about a hundred miles out from the Omaha Metro at max. I cannot thank them enough for their incredible quality of service, mechanical and customer. I will not trust any other mechanic until I'm forced to stop going to Joe's.
