B-r-o-o-k-e. I cannot make my point simpler. This woman is magic. She gets you, she does sassy sorcery on your tresses. I went in for a cut and color before a job interview and I know Brooke's magic is the reason I got the second interview. She took me from ratty hair down to my lower back to shoulder length classy-sassy-gorgeousness. I am happy to say I have finally found my stylist. Y'all...go friggin' visit Brooke. read more

Hive BE Salon - Chic and classy. Bringing me back to my dark roots! I love it! - Hair Salons Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Effie is absolutely amazing. I've been coming to her for a couple years and I followed her from Mode Organic, where she previously worked, to Hive BE, which is her own space. The space is perfect for 2 stylists, though I've only ever been there when it has just been myself and Effie. I think that goes to show that they are well-coordinated in not over-booking appointments and that they ensure each client is given enough attention and care to get the service just right. Effie is incredibly knowledgeable and does a terrific job. I have had full highlights and balayage treatments, as well as cuts, done with Effie and I've loved the outcome every time. Effie is also fun and makes you feel super comfortable so that you are relaxed and can really enjoy the entire experience. The prices are fair and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend Effie and Hive BE to anyone looking to have just about anything done to their hair! read more

Morgan is really talented and professional. She always does a great job with my hair and is a blast to talk to. I always get a ton of compliments after a visit with her. I highly recommend her! read more

Effie is superlative! She's been helping me tame my unruly coif for a couple of years now, and I always leave feeling beautiful. She just added some color (first time for me in nearly a decade) and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results! Plus, Effie is just a delightful person to hang out with while she's working her magic! read more

Morgan is the best! I've been going to her for several years and followed her to Hive BE because of her incredible talent. She is so much fun to talk to, and totally understands what I am looking in a haircut. I hadn't had my hair professionally colored in ages, and she did an incredible job of matching my hair to photos of balayage that I showed her. Everywhere I go I get compliments on my cut and color - even from a stylist in Boston who blew my hair out for a wedding right after I had gotten my hair cut/ colored with Morgan. Morgan's prices are reasonable, and she provides excellent service. Morgan takes the time to get to know her clients and their hair. read more

Hive BE Salon - Beautiful balayage and cut by Morgan - Hair Salons Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I've been coming to Brooke for years now (4, I believe). Before her, I hadn't found anyone that I loved even though I feel like I had tried out every salon in Seattle. After talking to her for just a few minutes, I decided to let her do what she thought was best and I've trusted her to do the same every time since. I got my hair done for my wedding about a month ago and she told me as soon as I sat down in her chair that we were going to switch it up just a bit because what she had been doing wouldn't photograph as well as the new plan she had in mind. Cue her switching up my color formula a bit and my hair looking unreal in my photos. I seriously had friends, family and my photographers comment on how fantastic my color was. If you are looking for the Best Blonde in Seattle go see Brooke or Effie and let them work their magic! read more

Brooke is amazing. I originally came for a cut from a groupon and Brooke totally reinvented my long boring straight hair with a cute layered cut I loved. I've always wanted to go pink and we talked about doing a rose gold type pink on my blonde hair. I couldn't get that idea out of my head and scheduled for a pink color a month later. It's fantastic. So light, subtle, and it's fading beautifully. Other than Brooke's mad skills, go back for the fun conversation and personal atmosphere. The prices are reasonable and Brooke has amazing experience. I will definitely go back! (Also, Effie, the other hairstylist who has been there while I was there seems awesome and she is fun! I would see her with confidence as well) read more

Effie has been doing my hair for over 7 years now, and in my opinion, is one of the best colorists in Seattle!! Not only does she give me killer highlights every time I see her, but is also a blast to hangout out with! Hive BE is a small intimate salon where I always feel comfortable and right at home. When I am there, I don't just feel "a number" like I always did at the the big chain salons. Oh and did I mention the best part? They offer complimentary sparkling wine with your service ;) Go see Effie and see her work her hair magic! read more

I can not praise Effie enough. I seriously keep a few of her business cards in my wallet because I think everyone deserves the best and Effie is the best. I like to change my hair up and she always nails it. I never feel rushed in any way and the salon itself has a very fun vibe to it. I have been commuting over from Bainbridge for the last year just because she is so wonderful. read more

I loved my experience at Hive BE. I saw Effie for a cut and color and really wasn't super clear on what I wanted. She was able to do a consultation with me, figure out what I was asking for and deliver. I love the way it turned out and the pricing was reasonable as well. Plus their space is really cute and Effie is super fun to be around. Would highly recommend. read more

Effie is amazing! I've been following Effie in salons in Seattle for a few years now, and I'm excited for her that she now owns her own salon. My hair is long AND really healthy, including the ends. My hair has never looked so good! She really listens to what I want, offers me suggestions and then puts it to work. She's fast and thorough and so enjoyable to chat with during the process. Her salon is very private yet large, only two hair chairs, so we can listen to cool music, chat, do whatever. Very intimate if you don't like having to hear everyone else's conversations/talking above each other. Also, no pressure to buy anything, but she does sell Loma which is one of my fave products. You will leave with your hair looking and feeling fabulous. read more

well I can't really talk about the experience of getting my hair done here because their lack of coordination sucks. I called to make an appointment and talked to her about how I wanted to get my hair cut and colored. Since my hair has been dyed red it would be a good idea to come in for a consultation. I made sure they had time between the dates that I wanted to get my hair done and they had a time slot. I came in that very day that I called for a consultation and the hair stylist was working on someone and was 20 minutes late for my appt., WTF. Plus, she asked me if I wanted to come in either 4:15 or 4:30 (I chose 4:30) so if I chose the other time would I have waited 35 minutes just for a simple consultation? well, I was pretty annoyed at that point but I pushed on through. We talked about my hair and came to a decision, then she checked her schedule and she said all she had was an appoint a week after what we discussed. I asked her what happened to the other time... "it got booked" uhh... I wouldn't have wasted my time coming here if you couldn't have done it at the time we discussed, at least hold it if I was coming in that same day. They "apologized" kinda and said they'll call me if they have a cancellation either in the evening or weekend. Ummm... I have a life and I'm a busy person. Horrible. read more

You must go see Effie! She does fabulous work! After living in multiple cities and trying to find the right fit for me in terms of stylist she's definitely "the one". She easily gave me the best cut and color of my life. Bonus Points: she's a total foodie and recommends some of the coolest places. She's super chill and awesome and I look forward to seeing her for my next cut/ color! read more

Morgan is AMAZING! She does such a fabulous job and has extremely reasonable prices. I have dark brown hair and have always pictured this perfect blonde balayage. I have tried many places before even paying double and end up with brassy damaged hair. Morgan was able to give me that perfect blonde I was looking for while keeping my hair healthy and shiny. She is also great to talk to and I always look forward to visiting with her. I could not recommend her enough!!! read more

Just had a cut/color done at Hive BE - it was great! Effie is very personable and easy to talk to and I loved the cute, comfortable vibe of the salon. Super happy with how my hair turned out and the experience overall. Do yourself a favor and go to Hive BE - highly recommended!! read more

Had the best experience today with Effie!!! It's so hard to find someone that listens and produces just what you want. Today was that day for me!!! I am so happy that after 3 years in Seattle I have found the perfect hair salon read more

Marshall was awesome. I was a mess getting to the appointment and it took me forever with construction and parking, but he was gracious and welcomed me in without any attitude. He got what I wanted right away, and checked in with me throughout to make sure I was happy with how it was going. He did a great job. And he's committed to using healthy natural products from an independent organic Italian company. Rock on! And to top it all off, at the end I showed him some pics of how I dream of styling my hair and he offered for me to come in and have a little hands on tutorial with him--yes please! That was never part of my education, and it shows. Thanks for the cut Marshall :) read more

This Hive is the best! I've seen Cher several times now. She's talented, kind-hearted and surprisingly affordable in this expensive city. The atmosphere is upscale but relaxed, and Cher's warmth makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I can't recommend her enough! read more

Love Effie Parks...she's a talented stylist/colorist and an all around wonderful person. Studio BE, her new salon, is great too. Very nice environment. Bonus...parking was easy to find! read more

Best Service Ever. Brooke: It was not in my original plan to continue coming here after my first time since I live in Carnation. However, Brooke had me hooked after my first appointment! She is professional, the most knowledgeable stylist ever, and a true artist. You can tell she loves what she does and takes pride in her work. Her hair always looks amazing and my hair has never looked better. Not only that, she has a sparkling personality. I enjoy our conversations so much that I am always surprised when the appointment is over! Effie: Great! I was forced to try out different stylists when Brooke was out for two of my appointments and I was pleasantly surprised. Like Brooke, Effie took the time to listen to what I wanted and made suggestions using her expertise. read more

Effie is the best stylist; my hair got damaged from another hair stylist who tried to balayage my hair and ended up frying it. My friend introduced me to Effie who brought my hair back to life. After that Effie has been the only person I trust with my hair. She uses product that won't damage and does an amazing job. Not to mention Effie is just fun to be around. There is nothing like getting you hair done by such a sweet person - you'll leave with a smile on your face. I trust Effie to make my hair look great and keep it healthy. read more

Had a Groupon with Morgan. Decent haircut, but she was running 25 minutes late and did not acknowledge me or that she was running behind for 15 of those minutes. Kind person, just could improve on customer service. read more

Amazing! Go see Effie! I'm a natural blonde but being in Seattle and obviously in no sunshine, my hair tends to get a lot darker especially at the roots. I've never colored my hair before, mostly because I've always lived in sunny areas and have had the sun do the coloring for me. I had no idea where to go for highlights, so seeing the amazing reviews for Hive BE I made an appointment with Effie. And Oh My Gosh! Best decision ever. I told her I wanted highlights because my roots were so dark but I wanted it to look like how my hair does in the summer and not included any brassy tones. Wow, I was so in love with the end result! Came out looking so natural and amazing! It's been about two weeks since I got it done and I still can't get over how good it looks! Not only did my hair turnout fabulous but Effie is so fun!!! She's not one of the hairdressers who awkwardly tries and make small talk and eventually ins out of things to say, so you two just sit in silence til the job is done, but she is so easy and fun to talk to and really makes the experience so enjoyable! If you are worried about what salon to chose, go to Hive BE and your worries will be solved. read more

This salon is a little gem in my neighborhood. Every time I go, I feel pampered by the owners professional warmth and come out looking and feeling like a million bucks. Her consultations are spot on! She talks me out of bad ideas and suggests the right change at the right time. I highly recommend Hive read more

Hive BE is the best! I have been seeing Effie for a few years now and I never leave unsatisfied. Not only do her and Brooke do an amazing job but they make it a fun experience. I can't send enough people their way--if you haven't stopped in to see these ladies you're missing out! read more

Morgan has a real talent for hair coloring, especially balayage. I was nervous to get my hair colored for the first time but Morgan made me feel comfortable. I never got so many compliments after my cut and color with Morgan! I now only go to Morgan to color my hair. This review is a long time coming. Seriously, every morning I wonder how Brooke manages to find a way to cut my thick head of hair in such a way that fixing it is a breeze. Brooke is a magical hair tamer and you are wasting your time and money going elsewhere...so just stop already! read more

BROOKE!!!!!! Where do I even begin! I have stuck with the same hairstylist who is a personal friend of mine for the last 4 years and of course I get the "hookup" however our schedules hadn't been syncing and 9 months had past and I got to that stage where you feel like a stay at home cat mom ( no offense ) and my hair looked like a mop on my head! I was apprehensive to try someone new and ofcourse to spend a little bit more money when ive been so used to the "homie hookup". Well let me tell you....IT WAS WORTH IT! My hair could not have turned out more perfect. She literally took what I had imagined in my head and made it a reality. She is so talented and outgoing and a blast to just chat with over a glass of wine! By far the most talented hairstylist Ive had and I will be sticking with her for life! Ive already had several friends ask about my stylist and where I get my hair done at! Her knowledge of hair along with her honesty makes for the perfect outcome. You will leave here feeling like a million bucks! read more

Effie is truly talented. Each time she has done my hair by adding highlights and lowlights to camouflage the grey, I have loved the result! Would highly recommend her to anyone! An added bonus is that she is delightful to talk to! read more

Calling all blondes!!! Marshall Westerman creates magic. How many articles have you read that help the client ask for the color they are trying to achieve? Champagne? Baby blonde? Golden blonde? Wheat? Like Kate Hudson? Like Kate Bosworth? Like Heidi Klum? Don't waste your time worrying or preparing, he knows blondes. I am not flashy nor a person that is out and about in the public eye, but if I had a dollar for every time I am stopped and asked how and where to get the blonde Marshall creates for me, I would be much closer to retirement. The best part? My hair is healthy, although I come in every four weeks to disguise the gray, it's healthier, thicker, and growing in areas it never has. The silver lining? You will never meet a more caring man who actually listens; no "trims" that leave an inch on the ground; he wants you to look beautiful and feel beautiful when you leave. Don't look any farther, I feel like I have found peace finally after countless people that do the blonde they like, leave it damaged and cut it all off. Go see a kind, talented, gentle soul who listens and creates magic. read more
