I've been coming to Brooke for years now (4, I believe). Before her, I hadn't found anyone that I loved even though I feel like I had tried out every salon in Seattle. After talking to her for just a few minutes, I decided to let her do what she thought was best and I've trusted her to do the same every time since. I got my hair done for my wedding about a month ago and she told me as soon as I sat down in her chair that we were going to switch it up just a bit because what she had been doing wouldn't photograph as well as the new plan she had in mind. Effie is absolutely amazing. I've been coming to her for a couple years and I followed her from Mode Organic, where she previously worked, to Hive BE, which is her own space. The space is perfect for 2 stylists, though I've only ever been there when it has just been myself and Effie. I think that goes to show that they are well-coordinated in not over-booking appointments and that they ensure each client is given enough attention and care to get the service just right. Effie is incredibly knowledgeable and does a terrific job. I have had full highlights and balayage treatments, as well as cuts, done with Effie and I've loved the outcome every time. Effie is also fun and makes you feel super comfortable so that you are relaxed and can really enjoy the entire experience. The prices are fair and the service is outstanding. Brooke is amazing. I originally came for a cut from a groupon and Brooke totally reinvented my long boring straight hair with a cute layered cut I loved. I've always wanted to go pink and we talked about doing a rose gold type pink on my blonde hair. I couldn't get that idea out of my head and scheduled for a pink color a month later. It's fantastic. So light, subtle, and it's fading beautifully. Other than Brooke's mad skills, go back for the fun conversation and personal atmosphere. The prices are reasonable and Brooke has amazing experience. Effie is amazing! I've been following Effie in salons in Seattle for a few years now, and I'm excited for her that she now owns her own salon. My hair is long AND really healthy, including the ends. My hair has never looked so good! She really listens to what I want, offers me suggestions and then puts it to work. She's fast and thorough and so enjoyable to chat with during the process. Her salon is very private yet large, only two hair chairs, so we can listen to cool music, chat, do whatever. Very intimate if you don't like having to hear everyone else's conversations/talking above each other. Also, no pressure to buy anything, but she does sell Loma which is one of my fave products. well I can't really talk about the experience of getting my hair done here because their lack of coordination sucks. I called to make an appointment and talked to her about how I wanted to get my hair cut and colored. Since my hair has been dyed red it would be a good idea to come in for a consultation. I made sure they had time between the dates that I wanted to get my hair done and they had a time slot. I came in that very day that I called for a consultation and the hair stylist was working on someone and was 20 minutes late for my appt., WTF. Plus, she asked me if I wanted to come in either 4:15 or 4:30 (I chose 4:30) so if I chose the other time would I have waited 35 minutes just for a simple consultation? well, I was pretty annoyed at that point but I pushed on through. We talked about my hair and came to a decision, then she checked her schedule and she said all she had was an appoint a week after what we discussed. I asked her what happened to the other time... "it got booked" uhh... I wouldn't have wasted my time coming here if you couldn't have done it at the time we discussed, at least hold it if I was coming in that same day. They "apologized" kinda and said they'll call me if they have a cancellation either in the evening or weekend. Ummm... I have a life and I'm a busy person. Horrible. read more

Marshall was awesome. I was a mess getting to the appointment and it took me forever with construction and parking, but he was gracious and welcomed me in without any attitude. He got what I wanted right away, and checked in with me throughout to make sure I was happy with how it was going. He did a great job. And he's committed to using healthy natural products from an independent organic Italian company. Rock on! And to top it all off, at the end I showed him some pics of how I dream of styling my hair and he offered for me to come in and have a little hands on tutorial with him--yes please! Best Service Ever. Brooke: It was not in my original plan to continue coming here after my first time since I live in Carnation. However, Brooke had me hooked after my first appointment! She is professional, the most knowledgeable stylist ever, and a true artist. You can tell she loves what she does and takes pride in her work. Amazing! Go see Effie! I'm a natural blonde but being in Seattle and obviously in no sunshine, my hair tends to get a lot darker especially at the roots. I've never colored my hair before, mostly because I've always lived in sunny areas and have had the sun do the coloring for me. I had no idea where to go for highlights, so seeing the amazing reviews for Hive BE I made an appointment with Effie. And Oh My Gosh! Best decision ever. I told her I wanted highlights because my roots were so dark but I wanted it to look like how my hair does in the summer and not included any brassy tones. Wow, I was so in love with the end result! Came out looking so natural and amazing! It's been about two weeks since I got it done and I still can't get over how good it looks! Not only did my hair turnout fabulous but Effie is so fun!!! I have stuck with the same hairstylist who is a personal friend of mine for the last 4 years and of course I get the "hookup" however our schedules hadn't been syncing and 9 months had past and I got to that stage where you feel like a stay at home cat mom ( no offense ) and my hair looked like a mop on my head!
