Fancy breads, ready-to-go
Jeff B.

Love it! Neatest little bakery, got those sweet gothy alt vibes, lots of personality. Apparently they're primarily a professional "buy order" specialty business, but despite their small size they do have a nice selection of impulse purchases. Everything from fine dinner breads to cakes, pies, and individual desserts. Obviously well crafted and creative choices. And I completely appreciate the social activism integrated into their work. Here for it!

Scott D.

Great selection of baked goodies, and everything we got was delicious. The service was prompt and friendly - it wasn't too busy while we were there. The cupcakes were especially delicious. They do have strong political views they don't hide. Consider that when you see the few low reviews they have been given. The "infested with rats and cockroaches" crack is nonsense - we were there a couple of days before that review was posted and it was spotless inside.

Lemon cupcake and almond butter cookie

Visiting from out of town. Wow! Amazing buttercream icing. Purchased the lemon cupcake and it was amazing! The best icing ever! Definitely recommend their cupcakes and their monster cookie was one of the best as well! Pick up an amazing t-shirt while you're there.

Great vibe as soon as you walk in. This place is not huge but I do recommend to look, explore and ask questions. No prices are posted so you do have to ask because budgets are real and you will want everything!! I highly recommend to go for the cheesecake because why not and because it's the best!! Staff are friendly and service is quick.

This place never disappoints. Every treat we've tried just tastes fantastic. We don't live anywhere near the bakery, but it is absolutely worth the drive. I've ordered a customer cake for my SO's birthday and he ordered one for mine - both outstanding. Highly recommend them for the casual treat, when needing a pie for a dinner, or when planning a major party.

I love their cookie designs, unfortunately they don't ship their treats to California (yet?). But they do have a variety of t-shirts and sweaters that they will ship :) I'm more than happy to wear a comfy t-shirt and support the Hive Bakery :)

Peanut butter cupcake

The peanut butter cupcake simply delicious! The cupcake was very moist and the peanut butter Icing was perfect. I ordered online so I didn't really have to interact much for service . The ambiance of the bakery was nice. I was in a hurry but I definitely recommend and will be back for me treats!

Cute interior - 2 stars. I really wanted to support this place because of their political views but a business is still a business and in the end I want to be greeted, buy something yummy, and have the things I want to be available when I visit the store. Their showcases were nearly empty with 2+ hours left til closing, they didn't have halfnhalf, the employee kept giving false info, they didn't clearly list things on their menu, many of their baked goods were not labeled, the employee wasn't helpful in multiple ways when prompted, the coffee cups were leaking/dripping all over the place, ... the list goes on but I'll stop. The ultimate take away from my visit was mass confusion and disappointment. I hope to come back and give them another try but for now I am sad and disappointed.

Oatmeal with raisins, gingerbread, sugar
Jill S.

Tried 3 cookies: gingerbread, oatmeal with raisins, and soft sugar. All 3 tasted freshly made and were DELICIOUS. The gingerbread and sugar cookies had thick icing, but were not overly sweet. All were huge and could easily be shared. I loved all of them, especially the gingerbread - it was perfectly spiced. I wish I lived closer!

This bakery is amazing! They are cool and edgy, yet classic! They always have a themed collection of goodies reflecting what's trending. Their portions are generous and everything I've ever had was outstanding! It is so hard to decide what to bring home because everything looks and tastes so good! I love this bakery and visit every time I'm in town.

Fruity Pebbles treat

My wife visited today, and unfortunately, everything she bought was stale. The fruity pebbles treat was disappointing and the cinnamon roll was hard and inedible, more like an old biscuit than a fresh pastry. Our first impression was far from positive.

Was hoping to enjoy these cupcakes, but they were dry. Plenty of other spots around to try.

They are still doing curbside only. And they are terribly rude when you call to ask questions before ordering. Will shop elsewhere.

Cake4One - Super cute lids

This is a great addition to the Flower Mound Riverwalk scene. Cool vibe, unique concept, and yummy…read moredesserts. The name is misleading - these jars are plenty big for 2 or 3 people, not just 1. At $8 per jar for walk-up pricing, that's pretty good value. They will customize the lids if you want to send sweet client gifts, and they host parties and events.

Due to a minor inconvenience, I am unable to give a better rating. More on that later…read more In the late afternoon, I had purchased four flavors as a gift: lemon, carrot, chocolate and red velvet. Red velvet was the one chosen to be eaten first. Due to the enjoyment of the gift recipient, I decided to come by later that evening to purchase one for myself. As did the daytime employee, the evening employee mentioned the new availability of the cheesecakes. The MAJOR difference is the recommendation of insulation bags. At first, I was confused why they needed the insulation. When I brought it home, I realized it was to keep the jar chilled during transport. Unlike the cakes, the cheesecakes cost $11.50. The $3.50 difference could be to offset the cost of the insulation bags. Also, the cheesecake most likely needs to be kept in the refrigerator. Only original cheesecake and lemon were still available, so I opted for the original. It tasted like a New York Cheesecake. At the bottom of the jar was the crust, next was the cheesecake filling, and finally topped with crumbles. It was an enjoyable cheesecake. I was running errands in the area, so I had arrived a couple minutes before noon. I parked and waited in my car until noon. Unfortunately, when I approached the store, the lights were off. I doubled checked Yelp in case the location recently closed. Fortunately, when I decided to try again several hours later in the day, the store was open.

Square top peninsula bar to the left as you walk in and lounge area sofas and arm chairs to sit in groups to the right. Place is clean and just FYI it has one unisex bathroom and the place opens at 7 PM. This Friday night featured an appetizer menu, what I will call a munchies menu of tacos made by another vendor, and bottle cap bingo of all things. I tried the pecan bourbon old fashioned ($13) and found it to be good. I try to limit the add-ins somewhat and so I just stuck with Buffalo Trace on a large rock for the rest of the night. My wife had several mixed drinks that were in the $12 range. Matthias came up with a drink that was, per my wife, "sweet and strong." I thought maybe she was thinking of me when she ordered but she nixed that idea pretty quickly....LOL Mini-charcuterie ($12) I thought left something to be desired. Beef jerky added with just a toothpick of cured meats. Not sure how they fit three different types on there but they did and it was just enough to make you want more. Cheeses seemed to be basic run of the mill diced. Per my wife it was ok, but she would probably pass on ordering it again. It's not meant as an entree to be fair and there is a good portion as a whole, but just overly simple and a little light on proteins. I'd cut down the cheese and double the toothpick, also 86 that jerky stuff and probably have a decent plate. Maybe even through a couple extra strawberries on there. Two sisters sitting next to us ordered the artichoke and spinach dip. They said the dip was fine but the baguettes were way over-toasted (i.e. too dry) and that seems like an easy fix. Later in the evening during bingo I tried a couple of tacos. They are brought in and stored, reheated when ordered. Unfortunately it seems like it as the flour tortillas are quite soft and it just doesn't come out fresh. The relleno burrito is just a relleno wrapped in a flour tortilla; the potato and chorizo had my wife's approval and mine as well. Laura runs a good bar over there, and some of you may remember her from Torchy's down the road. Fair pours and prices commensurate for around the area. Bingo runs pretty quickly, even the blackouts and the organizer had a plinko game a la price is right style. Was a fun run down memory lane for me. In a bit of irony, we never ordered dessert, which is the main focus of this business during the week. The samples I saw looked pretty good and it seems like the bar is just a way to make use of the space off bakery hours which I can appreciate. To me though they are nearing that price range where I'd expect a little better from the kitchen for appetizers. About $120 was the overall tab which we capped with a 25% tip. Went home after having a good time but just felt they fell short on the food.

No line at all when we got there, and it's more of a grab-and-go donut shop than a sit-down spot. Ordered, paid, and were out in under 5 minutes -- super quick stop. It seems that they only have a selection of 8 or 9 donuts on any given day. Their days and hours of operation are pretty limited and, despite that, they're still super hyped up. Goes to show how good they are. We got the pistachio, earl grey, and yuzu. The yuzu was probably my favorite -- nice strong citrus flavor without being overly sweet. Pistachio leaned sweeter but still tasted good; you could tell they used real pistachio. Earl grey was the sweetest of the bunch, definitely gives you that tea flavor but in donut form. All of their donuts are loaded with cream inside, so if you're into rich, creamy desserts this is your spot. The donut itself (under all that cream) was actually really good too -- makes me think they could pull off savory options if they ever tried.

I'm pretty much out as soon as I'm in (minus the rush). Even if there was a rush, they did everything smoothly and made sure everything was well taken care of before moving on to the next group of people. Not everyone leaves reviews like me, but I assure you every person they served that night when I was there left with happy smiles and tummies full. The shift lead here on Saturday nights did my order. I happened to hear her sigh and say "we need more brownies" and went to the back, meaning that she will in fact make more! Hardworking Gen Z, helloooo?? Also side note: their brownie add in is DELICIOUS. The best brownies I might have ever had. Way better than the bite-sized store-bought ones you find in grocery stores. She also saw that I was looking at the cupcakes and cakes in the front fridges and asked later if I wanted to get something from there (so attentive)! Definitely a leader. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. The other workers were also great at their jobs! I love seeing the younger generation working in stores that I also once worked at. It's nice to see how common sense and hard work are still a thing in this "iPad generation". See you guys next time!
