You know how you can find a restaurant or bakery on social media and absolutely fall in love with the idea of the place but then get there and actually try their products and be super disappointed? Well that was the complete opposite of what happened with Hive bakery. I was following them for a while online and finally got the chance to go in and try a few of their desserts. Their cookie dough brownie was probably the best brownie I've had in my entire life, and I've traveled all over the country trying different bakeries. The bakery itself was also beautifully decorated and well stocked on different shirts and merchandise as well. Service was good the person at the counter was very patient with us while I gushed over everything and kept adding to my purchase pile. I went for the first time today and will come back every time we are in town. I was there with my special needs kids, and my son was overwhelmed with the new environment and became disruptive. I really wanted to support this place because of their political views but a business is still a business and in the end I want to be greeted, buy something yummy, and have the things I want to be available when I visit the store. Their showcases were nearly empty with 2+ hours left til closing, they didn't have halfnhalf, the employee kept giving false info, they didn't clearly list things on their menu, many of their baked goods were not labeled, the employee wasn't helpful in multiple ways when prompted, the coffee cups were leaking/dripping all over the place, ... the list goes on but I'll stop. Definitely a place you want to try! I bought an assortment of goodies and I can say that they were all delicious. My favorite was the oatmeal cream pie. It is gigantic so it took me a few days to finish it. But that oatmeal cookie was so good. My daughter said her favorite thing was the red velvet cupcake, and that the Reese's and Funfetti cupcake were amazing. The peach hand pie is also something that I would buy again and again. I also had to get one of the pro choice sugar cookies. Sugar cookie was fantastic, and so is the message on the cookie! I do not live in the area but I am in Lewisville for work about once a week. Been meaning to check out Hive Bakery for the last year, just never had the chance or time until today. We went in for their Taylor Swift themed deserts, and let me just say none of it disappointed! I LOVE sugar cookies in general but the ones from Hive are on a completely different level. Soo good. Macarons were also tasty. As for the cupcakes, from the ones I've tried so far the icing is decadent and cupcake itself is delicious. Everything you get at Hive is HUGE portion wise so definitely worth the price.
