Due to a minor inconvenience, I am unable to give a better rating. More on that later. In the late afternoon, I had purchased four flavors as a gift: lemon, carrot, chocolate and red velvet. Red velvet was the one chosen to be eaten first. Due to the enjoyment of the gift recipient, I decided to come by later that evening to purchase one for myself. As did the daytime employee, the evening employee mentioned the new availability of the cheesecakes. The MAJOR difference is the recommendation of insulation bags. At first, I was confused why they needed the insulation. When I brought it home, I realized it was to keep the jar chilled during transport. Unlike the cakes, the cheesecakes cost $11.50. The $3.50 difference could be to offset the cost of the insulation bags. Also, the cheesecake most likely needs to be kept in the refrigerator. Only original cheesecake and lemon were still available, so I opted for the original. It tasted like a New York Cheesecake. At the bottom of the jar was the crust, next was the cheesecake filling, and finally topped with crumbles. It was an enjoyable cheesecake. I was running errands in the area, so I had arrived a couple minutes before noon. I parked and waited in my car until noon. Unfortunately, when I approached the store, the lights were off. I doubled checked Yelp in case the location recently closed. Fortunately, when I decided to try again several hours later in the day, the store was open. read more

The store was really quiet when we came in and service was fast. We ordered the cookies and cream cake. The packaging is cute and original and the cake combination itself hit the spot. I was surprised that the frosting actually tasted like the inside of an Oreo. It is a bit expensive for what you're getting but it was a fun experience! read more

I have been wanting to try this place and I finally went with my mom. They sell different flavors of cake in little jars, making it perfect for a sweet tooth! (Helps me w/portion control by not buying/make an entire cake & eating it all! Oink LOL) The cake was fresh, light and the frosting was good. My mom had the red velvet which she ate in one go. I think it's safe to say she liked it. LOL I ordered the birthday cake and I would order it again. I saved half of my cake jar for later. My jar of cake was still tasty the next day. I bought my husband the lemon cake, which I tasted. We both agreed it was good! The cakes tasted fresh! Cute Jars too! The negative is that you are not able to try any samples so what you get is what you get. That part is a bummer as it would be great if they made cakes and offered different samples. They have a good amount of choices and some being unique so it would have been nice to try something different. They also offer a vegan cake. Their individual cakes are out of this world good! I am typically not a cake lover, because cake is usually dry to me. Cake4One cakes are MOIST and flavorful. I love the strawberry and carrot cake varieties. My grands love the chocolate and Oreo. My hubby loves Red Velvet. Birthday bash is another one I want to try AND they have a "Happy birthday lid with a candle that comes with any cake variety so you can give a unique and personal birthday gift! And I just discovered their new individual cheesecakes! Oh my goodness, the plain cheesecake may be the best I've ever had. I'm hostessing a baby shower in a few weeks and am going to serve individual Cake4One cheesecakes with customized lids that have the baby's name on them. Was very interested in the place and thought it was cupcakes. Not sure how it's rated so highly because the cake really has no flavor. The cake is way too sweet and I thought the hate would be better sealed (it didn't "pop" when opened. Too expensive for the quality of the food. We went on a Sunday night. After reading the reviews I was excited to see for myself what the draw is to Cake4One. On entering there were no other customers in the store and I personally did not feel like the store was small and inviting. It was twice as wide as our local Nothing Bundt cakes with none of the style or celebratory atmosphere. It kind of felt like a hotel lobby check in counter. The employee greeted us friendly right away and asked if we'd been there before. She was very nice and explained that if we wanted to explore the stack of jars in front of us and flip them over to read the flavor on the bottom of the label or read the menu above our heads we could pick a flavor. There were no samples or enticing pictures/displays, reviews or anything to help me decide- so I went with chocolate cake. (I mean all the flavors were in jars with lids so they all looked the same and there were no smells as the cakes are not made there). We each chose a cake and an ice cream. For one cake at $8 and one ice cream around $6.50 we spent just under $30 and we were handed a plain to go bag. It didn't feel like it would be intimate or fun to sit there - so we turned to leave and grabbed some spoons. Pretty much although the river walk area had potential to be a great place to walk, it turned out there were lots of bugs flying around in general so we took our treats home. The strawberry ice cream and lemon cake were both delicious. The chocolate cake was good but a little dry with very sweet icing. The butter pecan ice cream was average and a little gritty. Overall I'm sad to say that it was an average experience and not one that I'll go out of my way to repeat. It is a good location for the residents and the near by restaurants. It's an interesting idea for a business marketing drop to gain access, or a customer appreciation touch, especially if the cakes were all universally as appealing as the lemon cake flavor. read more

I stopped into Cake4One this afternoon for the first time, to give it a try. It's kind of hidden behind apartments, but I live there, so I had no problem finding it. The store is very clean and quaint. The young lady who took my order, was very nice. I got the plain chocolate, and it was probably the best chocolate cake I've had in a long time. It was so fresh, very moist, and even though the frosting was sweet, like all frostings are, the cake itself was not so sweet. There was a nice balance. The frosting was very smooth, and it was mostly on the top of the cake, but there was some throughout the cake as well. I love that it came in a reusable jar. Single serves are a good way to taste different flavors, without committing to buying a whole cake. I'm pretty certain, if you can't find a parking spot on the street, most likely there is parking across the river. You might have to walk a bit, but it's worth it! read more
