    Oreo* Cookie Cake

The store was really quiet when we came in and service was fast. We ordered the cookies and cream cake. The packaging is cute and original and the cake combination itself hit the spot. I was surprised that the frosting actually tasted like the inside of an Oreo. It is a bit expensive for what you're getting but it was a fun experience!

Cake 4 One is a wonderful new addition to the Flower Mound River Walk district. This gourmet dessert store offers both cakes and ice cream in cute mason jar packaging. The store itself is tastefully decorated and warm and inviting. There is seating available if you can not wait until you get home to sample your treats. They have lots of flavors to choose from! And the customer service is outstanding! Note: The store entrance is on the corner across from the River Walk clock tower, and there is plenty of street parking available.

I have been wanting to try this place and I finally went with my mom. They sell different flavors of cake in little jars, making it perfect for a sweet tooth! (Helps me w/portion control by not buying/make an entire cake & eating it all! Oink LOL) The cake was fresh, light and the frosting was good. My mom had the red velvet which she ate in one go. I think it's safe to say she liked it. LOL I ordered the birthday cake and I would order it again. I saved half of my cake jar for later. My jar of cake was still tasty the next day. I bought my husband the lemon cake, which I tasted. We both agreed it was good! The cakes tasted fresh! Cute Jars too! The negative is that you are not able to try any samples so what you get is what you get. That part is a bummer as it would be great if they made cakes and offered different samples. They have a good amount of choices and some being unique so it would have been nice to try something different. They also offer a vegan cake. Another suggestion would be if they offered tea/coffee or had water with cups so people could enjoy while inside eating. They do offer preordered cakes & catering too! Will go back!

The cakes were very flavorful, moist, and just big enough to be satisfying.

Square top peninsula bar to the left as you walk in and lounge area sofas and arm chairs to sit in groups to the right. Place is clean and just FYI it has one unisex bathroom and the place opens at 7 PM. This Friday night featured an appetizer menu, what I will call a munchies menu of tacos made by another vendor, and bottle cap bingo of all things. I tried the pecan bourbon old fashioned ($13) and found it to be good. I try to limit the add-ins somewhat and so I just stuck with Buffalo Trace on a large rock for the rest of the night. My wife had several mixed drinks that were in the $12 range. Matthias came up with a drink that was, per my wife, "sweet and strong." I thought maybe she was thinking of me when she ordered but she nixed that idea pretty quickly....LOL Mini-charcuterie ($12) I thought left something to be desired. Beef jerky added with just a toothpick of cured meats. Not sure how they fit three different types on there but they did and it was just enough to make you want more. Cheeses seemed to be basic run of the mill diced. Per my wife it was ok, but she would probably pass on ordering it again. It's not meant as an entree to be fair and there is a good portion as a whole, but just overly simple and a little light on proteins. I'd cut down the cheese and double the toothpick, also 86 that jerky stuff and probably have a decent plate. Maybe even through a couple extra strawberries on there. Two sisters sitting next to us ordered the artichoke and spinach dip. They said the dip was fine but the baguettes were way over-toasted (i.e. too dry) and that seems like an easy fix. Later in the evening during bingo I tried a couple of tacos. They are brought in and stored, reheated when ordered. Unfortunately it seems like it as the flour tortillas are quite soft and it just doesn't come out fresh. The relleno burrito is just a relleno wrapped in a flour tortilla; the potato and chorizo had my wife's approval and mine as well. Laura runs a good bar over there, and some of you may remember her from Torchy's down the road. Fair pours and prices commensurate for around the area. Bingo runs pretty quickly, even the blackouts and the organizer had a plinko game a la price is right style. Was a fun run down memory lane for me. In a bit of irony, we never ordered dessert, which is the main focus of this business during the week. The samples I saw looked pretty good and it seems like the bar is just a way to make use of the space off bakery hours which I can appreciate. To me though they are nearing that price range where I'd expect a little better from the kitchen for appetizers. About $120 was the overall tab which we capped with a 25% tip. Went home after having a good time but just felt they fell short on the food.

I'm pretty much out as soon as I'm in (minus the rush). Even if there was a rush, they did everything smoothly and made sure everything was well taken care of before moving on to the next group of people. Not everyone leaves reviews like me, but I assure you every person they served that night when I was there left with happy smiles and tummies full. The shift lead here on Saturday nights did my order. I happened to hear her sigh and say "we need more brownies" and went to the back, meaning that she will in fact make more! Hardworking Gen Z, helloooo?? Also side note: their brownie add in is DELICIOUS. The best brownies I might have ever had. Way better than the bite-sized store-bought ones you find in grocery stores. She also saw that I was looking at the cupcakes and cakes in the front fridges and asked later if I wanted to get something from there (so attentive)! Definitely a leader. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. The other workers were also great at their jobs! I love seeing the younger generation working in stores that I also once worked at. It's nice to see how common sense and hard work are still a thing in this "iPad generation". See you guys next time!
