When I saw the Great American Cookies signage as soon as I walked in, I had to verify it was still a Marble Slab Creamery location. While there were Marble Slab Creamery signage on the freezer selling ice cream cakes, the main menu emphasized Great American Cookies. Since my last visit, the differences were a) the cookie display replaced the waffle bowls & cones; b) lack of the signage of suggested mix-ins; and c) combined ice cream & cookie menu options. As exemplified by the customer ahead of me, folks can still get ice cream with mix-ins. I did not see the shake which I got on my previous visit, so I ordered a Cookies & Cream shake. While I had not planned on getting any, I also bought a half dozen Cookies & Cream cookies. The employee mentioned that the same parent corporation bought Nestle Tollhouse, so existing Nestle Tollhouse locations will be rebranded as Great American Cookies. If locations were selling ice cream, similar to the Highland Village location, they may be combo stores. My credit card shows Marble Slab Creamery & Great American Cookies; I assume that is the name of the combo stores. read more

Great place to try variety of ice cream flavors, non-fat, non-dairy etc. variety of toppings. Now they also have cookies, so you can have cookie ice cream sandwiches. This was great ice cream! My kids loved it, as did my wife and I. They have a lot of different combinations to choose from. They let you sample any of the flavors. It was very clean. First time trying out this place. It's a chain. I ordered coffee ice cream with almond slivers. The coffee ice cream was pretty bland. I prefer it with a stronger coffee profile. In the beginning of my childhood, after a soccer game played at the "we-give-participation-trophies-even-if-you-don't-participate" YMCA, I would always go to this Marble Slab location. In my young and innocent days, sweet cream mixed with cinnamon vanilla was always in abundance and always amazing. As I grew older, my taste buds acquired a taste for a more diverse selection of ice cream. This Marble Slab suddenly no longer satiated my frozen-dairy whims. The problem with an ice cream place that lists blueberry ice cream on the menu is that customers expect blueberry ice cream to be available. As of 2015 AD in the United States, this seemingly simple concept has become tantalizingly difficult for Marble Slab to grasp. Out of the most recent five trips to this location, they have only had blueberry ice cream once. I say to this, my fellow ice cream enthusiasts, that it is time for a new regime. When I can't even buy a pint of ice cream for my PMSing girlfriend, we have a problem. When three days later I still can't buy a pint of her favorite flavored ice cream, I claim blasphemy. In summation: this Marble Slab lacks morals, selection, and basic dignity. This Marble Slab would not even receive a participation trophy from the YMCA. read more

I had the best customer service ever yes I had to wait 10 minutes to get an ice cream due to the fact they only had one person working,but the employees attitude made up for it. We visited the Marble Slab in Flower Mound today. We are in the middle of the CV19 pandemic, there were two people in line ahead of my family of 3. Another family of 3 went in as soon as we left, so it appeared to be a steady stream of customers. The phone was ringing off the hook the whole time we were there, only one employee working. When it was our time to order, my husband intended to order for all of us, but the employee looked at my young daughter and asked her what she wanted. My daughter replied "S'mores" but couldn't he heard above the ringing phone. The employee quickly yelled at my daughter, "If you want ice cream, you need to speak up and say what you want." I was shocked. You don't ever speak to a customer like that, let alone a young child. I said, "woah..." and she quickly tried to backtrack and say that her grown daughters never learned to speak for themselves and she thinks other children should learn this skill she failed to teach. My daughter normally does, courteously and articulately order for herself the majority of the time and it is a skill we've intentionally worked on. I get that this lady was stressed and there needed to be another employee working. I will even give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that she didn't mean for it to come out the way that it did. Even if that's the case, you need to be quick to apologize. There were countless ways for her to have said what she wanted to say or got the ordering info she needed in a kind and civil way. When we walked about, my daughter said, "I know I can be shy around adults I don't know, but I usually feel pretty courageous to be able to speak up and talk to them. It makes me feel courageous when I feel that they are nice and kind. She made me feel like I shouldn't always think that they will be nice and kind back to me." Manager Autumn had a horrible attitude. She did not want to help my wife and I when we were there. She was huffing and puffing, rolling her eyes, slamming the glass doors to the ice cream, and throwing ice cream scoops. So rude and she was the manager. Ice cream is pretty hard to mess up, and any ice creeam shop is a little spendy... but the ice cream here is top notch we brought our almost 4 year old in around 10PM on a saturday night and the staff was still as energetic and helpful as could be, service was fast, but the cherry on top was that when my kiddo asked the staff to dance with him, they asked what his favorite song was and put it on the radio, came out into the front and danced like fools with a little kid, he thought it was so much fun and we'll definitely return often. read more

I love the product--exceptional. It is priced exceptionally high, but it is totally worth it (you think to yourself). Then, you open the container and realize it is only 3/4 full. You are lucky if you are still in the store. Otherwise you are incredibly angry when you realize that it is virtually impossible to contact anyone here...there is no manager available..ever. Then, they blame you for not checking before you left the store. Apparently you work for them as their QA department. Maybe it is just me, but if I am paying $8 for a quart of ice cream I expect them to actually fill the containers to the top (not 2/3 or 3/4) without me having to check them every time.
