This is my go-to bakery for my birthday cakes at work. They always provide great and speedy service. This time I decided to pick up a few of the new Chocolate covered strawberry bundlets for for Valentines Day. I'm not sure if she was the manager but Service with a Smile started as soon as I walked in. She was helpful with all the flavors even though I was glued into the the new flavor. Holy Moly this place is nuts! Stopped in to see about a gluten free cake for a friend's birthday. Ended up getting the lemon raspberry, which was delicious and turned out to be her favorite, unbeknownst to me! We were surprised at how many people this tiny place had working, but very quickly realized that they were ALL busy the whole time we were in there. The people were just streaming in and out of there constantly. The workers were all very friendly and helpful and there are loads of options to make your purchases peronal and extra fun. Somewhere in between a cake from a grocery store bakery and a custom cake made by your local aspiring next Food Network star falls Nothing Bundt Cakes. The menu is simple with about ten flavors to choose from, each one topped with the same thick cream cheese frosting. I have yet to try one that I didn't love, including the fruity flavors which don't typically appeal to me in baked goods. These cakes are fluffy and moist with a deceptively generous amount of frosting even though it might not look like it on the outside. I have only ever been a walk-in customer and it always appeared as though varying sizes of each flavor are readily available. However, I'm sure pre-ordering is recommended for larger quantities and/or added decorations. Cake nirvana does come at a price though, which is why I consider it a splurge reserved only for birthdays. read more

I wish I could give this establishment more than 5 stars.... I walked and was greeted right away by a very cute teenager girl. She knew all the answers to my questions. I believe her name was Ava. She also had another girl her age with her, Maren. I would've thought they were sisters but they weren't. They were very bubbly and beautiful. I got a 10" GF choc chip bundt cake for the family for our teenager's birthday. Way easier than a cake and the wife gets to enjoy something too! I ordered online and it was waiting for me when I arrived. Surprise! They now have an additional GF option, lemon raspberry, so I ordered five of the little bundts for each of us to try one. The new flavor needs a little bit of work though. All of the raspberry stuff was along the bottom and didn't seem well incorporated. They were good but not great. I stopped in last Thursday around lunch time out of curiosity. I wasn't planning on making a purchase yet, I was going to grab lunch nearby and maybe get one of their bundlets I'm always hearing about. As soon as I entered the two young women at the counter smiled and gave me their full attention. When I mentioned I was just browsing as I had never been there before, one came around the counter and started explaining what was in their display case and gave me their brochure too. Both of them were very sweet and helpful. They have nine flavors, ready to go in all sizes, all the time and a flavor of the month too. The regular flavors include classic favorites like vanilla, cinnamon, carrot, marble, lemon, red velvet, chocolate chip, pecan praline and white chocolate raspberry. The sizes start at bunditinis which are the perfect bite size, but sold only by the dozen at $18.50. The bundtlets were more reasonable at $3.99 but looked like it would be difficult to polish off by yourself, maybe it could be shared. Then there were 8 and 10 inches as well. She went on to show me an example of how they can decorate them for special occasions. I was really impressed with the level of service and information I received. They have one type of frosting and for me, that's what it comes down to. All the items in the display case had drizzle frosting, which is the least amount they can do and it's still quite a lot of frosting. The frosting is a butter and cream cheese mix and it certainly doesn't taste bad but I found it too sweet. That was my concern from looking at the display case and then they let me have a sample of the Pecan Praline. It was a tasty cake, but I found the frosting overpowered it a bit. I think this is made for someone with a sweeter tooth than I have. I was really pleased to hear you can get the cakes without frosting as well! This isn't exactly my cup of tea, but I like the concept and the service a lot! I also think this appeals to a lot of people and I just have picky taste buds. Okay so I've been here a few times to pick up a sweet birthday treat for friends or coworkers, and the cakes always taste amazing! The only thing is sometimes the pipe work is not uniform like I've seen at other locations. I also noticed the buntlets I got from here seemed a lot more dense or not as risen as they normally would be. Over all super tasty cakes just can be a bit inconsistent at times. I do not recall eating a personal-sized bundt cake. The bundtlets are perfect for a group setting since folks are not forced to eat an undesirable flavor. For the holiday, I purchased several different flavors: chocolate chocolate chip, white chocolate raspberry, lemon and carrot. Chocolate Chocolate Chip: Unfortunately, any hint of the chocolate was overwhelmed by the frosting. As a result, the chocoholics in the group were unimpressed. If the icing was chocolate, it may have brought out the chocolate flavoring in the cake. White Chocolate Raspberry: The label on the package states natural and artificial flavoring. Unfortunately, the raspberry tasted more artificial than natural. I have tasted better raspberry from jam offered at diners. Lemon: One of the two winners. Without looking at the label, there was no ambiguity about the flavor. It looked like a lemon cake. It definitely tasted like a lemon cake. Carrot: The other winner. Similar to the lemon, the taste of carrot cake exceeded expectations. The frosting was blended well with the carrot flavor. Regardless of the flavor, all of the cakes were very moist. As for the staff, they were very friendly. I appreciated how the various bundtlets were nicely packed in the bag and sealed. My only concern was reading the receipt. I wanted to give this place 5 stars, but here is why I can't. My husband was upset that all the bundts we tried only had cream cheese frosting. He was upset there were not other options though he's not denying the cream cheese was good. He was hoping for a strawberry something with the flavor of the month bundt. I'm not gonna lie - when eating one bundt you hardly notice, but when you are sinking your jaws into your third different flavor, you kinda wish for another type of frosting. If you fill out their survey you get a buy one get one free bundt. Bundts are a little pricey but they last a while and are delicious. Especially with coffee. It makes for a great 'pay day' treat. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! I noticed this location of Nothing Bundt Cakes opened up one day when driving from work to my friend's house and I was excited. One day, I was down in the Preston/Royal area and noticed that location... I wanted to try it then, but due to rush hour traffic and general frustration, I didn't get a chance. Now, I had a chance! Even though it opened up a little while ago, I only just got the chance to stop in. Yesterday was my friend, C's, birthday. Today we went out to lunch for that and to chat about her upcoming wedding (in which yours truly will be a bridesmaid). I quick ran into Nothing Bundt Cakes to grab a little cake to bring to lunch. To my great delight, they had the perfect size! They have the 8" and 10" bundt cakes, but they also have a perfect size to share with one other person (or to eat by yourself) and they're around $4. Awesome. Continuing my delight was that there were a lot of great flavor options. C loves lemon (and so do I), so I got one Lemon bundt and one Lemon Raspberry bundt. I figured I'd let her choose and the other would be mine. The girl at the register was super sweet and was extra helpful since it was obviously my first time there (very very much unlike my crappy Sprinkles experience in Dallas). She put both individually packaged bundt in a paper bag and rang me up. She invited me to sign up for their email newsletter for coupons and specials. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to write out my crazy long email address as last name, but I certainly will next time. The cakes themselves were AMAZING. I love the fact that the icing isn't ridiculously overwhelming like you often get with cupcakes. The icing was sweet, but not too sweet, and complemented the cakes very nicely. The cakes were insanely moist and delicious. Very obviously fresh and made with quality ingredients. C chose the lemon bundt and I got the lemon raspberry. My only issue was that the raspberries in mine were almost nonexistent. There was a very very small hint of raspberry, but I would've liked a little more. The product is amazing. They have great cakes, interesting favors (not just your typical vanilla/chocolate choices), and the end product is adorable. But. This particular location had terrible customer service. I ordered a cake for a birthday a week in advance. When I went to pick up the cake, it took the people 20 minutes to locate my cake, and then they didn't want to let me look at the cake before leaving. I did, because I was already annoyed with my wait, and the cake was wrong. All sorts of wrong. The cake wasn't decorated at all, so that makes me think they never filled my order and sped through the receipt to cover up the mistake. The cakes are very tasty. My three star review is because I went in an ordered an 8" cake and three small cakes. The small cakes are packed in nice individual plastic containers. The 8" cake I had packaged in cellophane with a Thank You note attached to the cake (both at an extra cost). The cake came out with a super high/tall cellophane wrap - I put it the car and actually went back in to ask if the cake had to be kept in the fridge and was told yes it needed to be refrigerated. I wrongly assumed that the cellophane could be bent in half to get it in the highest part of the fridge, but when I did that, the cellophane crushed down on the cake smooshing into the frosting and making it look a mess. Since it was going to be a gift, I had to buy some Tiff's Treats cookies in a rush, so I'd have something pretty to give. NBC needs better, fridge friendly packaging. read more
