I ordered a cake from here for my friend's 55th birthday party. I left the design open for their imagination but the theme was "guitar/music". Honestly I was hoping to be impressed for the money they were charging. I was not. I was charged in excess of $120 (I think it was closer to $160) for a white cake with little decoration to speak of. The taste of the cake wasn't even that good. Considering the last "guitar" cake I bought from a little bakery in Arlington for the same (if not less) price and was well over twice the size that wowed our socks off....nah, won't be back. I used Legacy Cakes to make a two-tier cake for my daughter's birthday party yesterday. And thank goodness I did. The day of the party (Sunday) I realized I had FORGOTTEN to pick up the cake the day before, and the bakery was closed on Sundays! I panicked, but didn't have time to fully melt down because within 15 minutes of my email to the bakery, the baker had replied and set up a time to meet me to give me the cake! Crisis averted. As for the cake itself, I provided a few pictures for ideas (mermaid themed) and asked them to do what made sense to them artistically. We had about ~130 total adults and every single person was crazy about it. At our initial consultation, we were served a platter of about 10 different cakes and 10 different frostings. We mixed and matched the combinations until we both had stomach aches- but we each found our favorite combos to create our own unique wedding cake. They delivered the cake straight to the venue on wedding day and there were no hiccups throughout the whole process with Legacy. The cake I received for my only daughters first baby shower was such a disappointment I was in complete shock. To explain further, the cake looked nothing like the drawing I was sent. Legacy Cakes is only interested in turning a profit and price gouging their customers. What about delivering quality service and product to the community that supports them? The product was of the poorest quality. The cheap, terrible tasting overly sweet buttercream frosting was merely piled on 6 layers of dry, poorly tasting cake. I had to buy other items to give the cake "life". When ordering the cake, I explained we had a very small crowd, but was told they had a minimum size they made. Very, very sad, the baker even acted as if I were imposing on her to even communicate with me as to my dissatisfaction of the cake. Do not use this company. read more

I do not recommend this place. They ruined my son's birthday cake. They charged 73 dollars for a cake that was not decorated at all, the cake was plain and they gave me a topper to put on the top. My experience with Legacy Cakes started out very hopeful and optimistic but unfortunately, the end result left me just the opposite. I appreciate their ability to accommodate me last minute (5 days before the event) when my first choice bakery couldn't. However, last minute doesn't mean the integrity of the design should be compromised or I should have to accept a lower quality product, which is exactly what I was presented with. This is especially when they happily assured me that there would be no issue in completing my cake. When I picked up the cake, the design had brown from one part of the design smeared on a white part. The icing was raised and uneven near a bow placed on the bottom of the cake. I actually had to spend money to buy sprinkles to cover up this spot, which is outrageous considering how much I paid for the cake to begin with. If I wanted to decorate my own cake, I wouldn't have paid someone else to do it. Also, the strap on one of the fondant baby shoes broke before the event even started. The mistakes might seem minor but considering this was a very simple cake design and these mistakes were on the only two design elements of the cake, it's pretty ridiculous. I didn't choose this bakery just because I couldn't find anywhere else. If I was that desperate I could've got a cookie cake or something from Walmart for less than half the price. I chose this bakery because they have a wide variety of beautiful cakes posted on their website and multiple social media accounts. This was important to me as the consultation was over the phone and I couldn't look at any of their work in person. It's unfortunate they didn't care enough about my cake for it to be worthy enough to be posted to their Facebook or Instagram. read more
