Let me preface by saying the cakes were good. But if you're looking for a stress free vendor I would not recommend them. Firstly we went in for our scheduled cake testing and they were very busy... no big deal! We were excited to be at a place that was busy because that must mean business is awesome. But from that point on they were just extremely irritable with us. I'm not sure if they were overwhelmed but they kept bringing out the wrong flavors we asked for, he kept missing labeling the flavors, he speaks very bluntly so made us feel stupid when we didn't know type of decoration we wanted for the cakes and started asking questions. (We've never gotten married before. Sorry?) Lastly when I was ordering the Grooms-cake he made me feel extremely rushed. But they showed me a few pictures and I researched a few pictures and I decided to go with a Dallas Cowboys themed cake and told them to make it look like the picture (white icing , blue trim, Dallas Star, football decoration plus more..) and they said they could easily do that and they had a machine that could print straight onto cakes to make it look awesome. Fast forward to 5 days before the wedding I give them a call to see what time they were going to be at the venue (because they never responded to my Coordinators calls or emails) and he seemed very irritated telling me "did you not receive your confirmation? Of course were still going to be there why wouldn't we" fast forward to wedding day She comes in with the cakes around 1:30 and the bridal cake looks perfect! No complaints. But the Cowboys cake looks nothing like we had talked about. Granted, it looked...fine... but that's the thing. If I wanted a cake to look like that I would have gone to Albertsons and saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars. So I told my coordinator "Dang I thought it would look different" and explained why I thought it would look different. So my coordinator passed along to message to Christine and she offered to go fix it. But I told my coordinator "no it's fine it's not like it's ugly I just thought it would look different" and went to the room to get dressed. And my coordinator told me that in her way out Christine told her and my FATHER that "I don't know what wrong with the cake. That's what he payed for it looks perfectly fine. I don't think we did anything wrong." We expressed to our coordinator that they explained and hyped up this amazing machine that could print onto the cake to make it look our awesome - that's what we were told during the cake tasting. turns out they didn't do that because the cake printer kept messing up and bubbling.. so they changed the design completely. without letting us know??? And just showing up the day of with a completely different concept that THEY HYPED UP TO DO. Christine then told my coordinator that "she doesn't know why I'm upset when I'm the one that signed off on the cake." Then we went to cut the cake at 8:30 PM and it was STILL FROZEN. Half of the cake couldn't be eaten due to it being rock hard. Listen I wouldn't have left a bad review if they didn't give me attitude throughout my whole experience. I understand you serve cakes to weddings all the time so this was just another day to you guys but this was the best day of my life and now I have to remember a poor cake experience. read more

You can tell from the texture and flavor of the cake that she had top notch training and experience. Unfortunately I did not have the best experience with C Marie Sweets for a number of reasons. I decided to book with them for my wedding day. We chose flavors that they did not have on their tasting menus, and even though we signed our contract and committed to them as our wedding cake vendor, they still would not let us taste the flavors we chose unless we purchased a small cake from them. So, I had to pay an addition $40 per flavor to taste it... I didn't feel like this was a very good customer experience. The flavors i selected were marble, gingerbread, and banana... all with basic cream cheese filling. Nothing terribly exotic. I was having a winter wedding, and I told them i wanted a grey dusted snowflake cake. (grey cake, white snowflakes). They told me they did not provide the sugar dust, glitter, or fondant / gum paste to make the design. Essentially, they only provided the cake and icing... So, on top of this, I had to go purchase glitter, fondant snowflakes, and sugar dust. Before purchasing, I emailed what I was planning to buy to ensure it was correct. They confirmed. On my wedding day, the cake was spotty and uneven. Far from the photo I sent them. The only two positives I have to say is A. They were friendly in person and B. The cake itself was very good. We got a lot of compliments on the flavors, but the design was not executed well in the least. Maybe its the norm, but I'm still so surprised that a bakery does not provide items like sugar dusting or fondant designs (a previous baker we tasted did). read more

Very DISAPPOINTED with my experience with this bakery! Only positive thing I can say about my experience was they designed the wedding cake as sketched. Once the cake was cut during the wedding the biggest layer was still frozen! The staff wasn't able to the slice the cake because it was frozen solid. The cake did not taste anything like when we went to the cake tasting. It was somewhat flavorless. Very disappointing to pay so much and get something Walmart could've baked better! NOW ONTO THE GROOMS CAKE.....during our consultation I specified I wanted it to be eagles themed to which he cut me off to say "don't worry I will surprise you trust me" and he did...surprised everyone! All he did was print the eagles sticker and placed it on top of a plain white cake. On his website he promotes these extraordinary cakes as pictured but to our surprise we got this plain and ugly grooms cake. Once again VERY VERY DISSATISFIED AND DISAPPOINTED! After the wedding i contacted the bakery and he questioned me and implied we lied about the frozen cake and the ugly grooms cake. Wanted to pay me $200 to sign an agreement and not write this review. This cake tasting did not go as well as anticipated. I found this bakery on The Knot website and it had hundreds of great reviews and 4.9 stars - so it was an easy choice when scheduling a tasting for our wedding. My parents drove 9 hours into town to be apart of wedding cake tastings and I wish they hadn't of wasted their time on this one. When we arrived we were the only ones there. The guy (husband of baker I believe) greeted us and told us to have a seat. He told us we could enjoy our cake tastings but didn't explain anything, no one sat down with us to tell us about their bakery or even told us what the different flavors of cake were, I had to ask. He then talked the entire time we were tasting about his personal life, irrelevant to the business or cakes. We felt as if we couldn't even talk amongst ourselves about the cake. After we finished the tastings he asked what we were looking for in a wedding cake but he kept interrupting anyone who talked. We maybe talked about it for a few minutes before he started talking about money and kept saying "I don't want to be that guy but the prices are going up tonight". At one point he mentioned finding people that had food stamps and paying them 75 cents on the dollar to buy him butter. I asked him what he would need from us for when we decide the cake flavors, looks, other desserts, etc. and he said "well first I would need to know you're going to spend at least $750". He really didn't mention anything else but mentioned that the prices were going up again. Minimums are important information to know, it was just the delivery of how it came across. Although we will not be using them or recommending to others for those reasons, I will end on a positive note that the cake was incredible. It was very tasty and had great flavor. We were not disappointed with the cake tastings. I really wish the customer service would have been better and we hope that he was just having an off day and that this is not how he chooses to run his business. read more

My bridal cake and my husband's grooms cakes were delicious. However, one of the owners, Tristan, was extremely rude ON MY WEDDING DAY (May 7th). I knew there was something off that I didn't like about him so it just made my thought about him worse. J was at my bridal and hair appointment and he called me EVERY TWO SECONDS cussing me out saying there wasn't anyone there at the church to let him in. Please please go somewhere else for your cake. You will be left with having to sue them. They have a long trail of lies to try to cover themselves. In my case, the judge saw right through their lies and found them liable. Any attempt to set an appointment to see my cake prior to my wedding was canceled by them. I showed up at their store the day of my wedding asking to see my cake. They said my cake would be done and delivered. Ultimately, my cake was never made or delivered and my money was not given back. These people are lying scoundrels and will take your money it's not worth the sadness the day of your wedding or your event. DO NOT ORDER ANY IMPORTANT OCCASION CAKES or any at all... i had a very unexpected problem with my previous baker and needed a cake asap. luckily i was able to get in touch with the owner quickly through email. i needed a cake for my husbands birthday which was on a sunday and was told i needed to pick up the cake a whole day before on saturday because her business is closed on sundays.. very inconvenient. next we spoke and exchanged pictures of what my cake was supposed to look like however when it was time to pick up my cake it was nothing as i had described or anything like the pictures i had sent.. next thing is the delivery option was forced onto me as she said she didnt feel comfortable giving me the cake and needed for it to be delivered. after paying full price for the cake supposedly being $325 for a two tier cake. i was charged a total of $451. as i had no other options and it was already saturday evening i went with delivery for 6pm. nonetheless i didnt receive my cake until 8:30pm.. EXTREMELY unprofessional! as i am feeling very disappointed and questioning my decision to even order a cake from here i tried to stay positive but the last straw was met when we actually ate my husbands cake and the red food coloring had totally taken over the icing and tasted just bitter and very nasty. i apologize to anyone who has had similar experiences and do not recommend this company for the life of me. definitely will not be returning. my husband and guests was very dissatisfied. no cake wouldve been better than what we received. read more

Ordered two birthday cakes form C. Marie's. One was for a party with friends and then another made for family birthday dinner. The first cake was strawberries and cream with a very unique design. Everyone said it was the best cake they ever tasted. They also delivered it for free. Second cake was a chocolate mousse cake. I ordered it with Tristan and just said make it how you think is best. We tried their cake samples, they were decent, honestly not bad, the front desk guy (the bakers husband) was just incredibly rude. We never even got to talk with the baker at all. I don't think he realized how awful he was, but my fiancée and I wanted to run out of there as fast as we could. He kept insisting he "knew exactly what to do" without listening to us, and continuously inserted his opinion. I finally had to say "no thank you" when he asked if I wanted his opinion on the design I wanted for my bridal cake, it was just so uncomfortable. Two years ago today, my lovely fiance and I walked into this boutique bakery. We sampled some cake and fell in love with the pleasant customer service "C.Marie" gave us. Me being the guy, I had NO desire of going to fifteen different bakeries and sampling cake. But, this little place was different. We both decided to give it a go and we couldn't have made a better decision. On our wedding day, the cakes were delivered and everything was setup PERFECTLY. Everyone loved the cake and it looked amazing. Fast forward two years and I ordered another cake for our anniversary celebration. I gave C Marie's Sweets a $ 150 deposit for my wedding cake. I was told the amount was completely refundable if I changed my mind within 30 days. I contacted them when I decided to go a different direction. I only received $ 125 refund and was told there were charges to run credit cards. That is part of doing business. I'm sorry to report I did not have a pleasant experience at all. I asked for a sheet cake with a single image that I requested (and sent a file of) and instead I received a cake that looked nothing like what I wanted. Creative liberties were taken freely with my cake that I did not approve and was not made aware of until the cake was delivered 1 hour prior to our event. To top it off, the cake was dry and the icing tasted only like butter. I contacted the owner to see how we could make it right since we paid close to $300 for this cake. Her offer was a dozen complimentary cupcakes. No thanks. Below is an outline of what was wrong with the cake: a. They put "Welcome" on the cake, which I did not ask for and the font/icing was not pretty at all and chunks of icing were missing. b. They put "Grand Opening" on the cake and it was not even the same font as the "Welcome", it was crooked, and it looked like someone had botched it and then corrected by putting squiggly lines on the letters of the G and the O. And the word "Opening" was slanted downwards. c. There was a blue bow and a red flower put on the corner of the cake that I did not ask for. d. Colored Confetti (why would you put colored confetti on a red, white and blue cake?) e. White sprinkles all around the edging that got everywhere in our carpet and floor, and again, I did not ask for sprinkles. f. The piping around the entire cake was very splotchy and did not look professional or good at all. We ended up throwing the whole cake out as it tasted about as good as it looked. read more

Purchased a marble cake and cupcakes for my son's birthday. Absolutely wonderful. I used them last year for my son's birthday cake as well and it was just as fabulous then. My only complaint is that the prices have gone up substantially in the past year. Last year, I had a very elaborate cake made in the 3D design. The cake was for 25 people and I was charged $75. This year, I had a square shaped cake with designs only on the sides (for 30 people) and a dozen cupcakes and the cost was $220. The cake and cupcakes were wonderful. The cake was moist and everyone loved it. We will use them again in the future. read more
