This is by far the BEST experience I have ever had at a salon. I called for an appointment to get the Thermal Straightening and was able to get in the next day. If you ever wonder what it might be like to be a Hollywood superstar, that is how they make you feel! They were all very friendly, and they work amazing together as a team. I had two stylists working on my hair at all times. It felt like I had my own "glam squad"! I know it sounds like I am over-hyping this place, but I PROMISE you, I felt like a million bucks when I left. My normal frizzy curly hair is now straight, shiny, and tangle free. Don't be fooled by the modesty of the salon - they do quality work here. I moved from the SF Bay Area a month ago and was looking for a place to get my Japanese straight perm touched up after a year. I was doubtful of finding somewhere as good as California, especially for Asian hair cuts ... but all doubts have been eased! Although he's in Cary now, Alex comes from New York and obviously has years of experience under his belt. As soon as I walked in, he did a quick consultation on my hair and then went straight to work. I had previous hairdressers tell me that I wouldn't be able to get my hair straightened again because of my last dye, but on Alex's assessment he said it wouldn't be a problem. I was nervous but he continued to test my dyed hair during the treatment, and he and another hairdresser both took lots of care and gave the process full attention. Very grateful! The Japanese straightening process also only took 2 hours, as opposed to 6-7 hours at a well-rated salon back at home. Was also really glad to hear about this. Won't be back. I was looking for an asian hair salon in the triangle and decided on this place after a good recommendation. I only came for a cut but not only did they not cut it how i wanted, they fried my hair. They blowdried my hair on the highest heat without any heat protectant and I left with dead ends and dry hair. It's been two weeks and now even with hair masks and oils, I haven't been able to hydrate my hair since. Ok, as a non-fob Chinese, I was a little hesitant to go to hitto,I have had my fair share of Asian hair salon days, and I always end up looking like I came straight out of a Taiwanese drama series. Ugh. But I was desperate for an affordable haircut, and I refuse to go to hair cuttery. Yeah, call me a snob, don't curr. I made an appt with Alex, and he was very quick to accommodate me in his busy day. The girl right before me ended up getting huge fob looking hair cut. I call it an Asian mullet, it is popular in Asia. So imagine my fear, I almost ran out of there. After my bouts of cold sweat and not being brave enough to leave, I sat on Alex's chair. Despite of the prev girl's hair, Alex look one look at my picture and 15 minutes later, it is on my head. It looked great and was in perfect length. He also gave me a lot of tips on how to get rid of my perm and fill in my bleached hair. He was really nice, and the cut ended up only being $35, which is a great price. Definitely hit up Hitto salon! A few fun facts: 1. Alex, the boss, went to cosmetology school in New York! 2. He's been doing hair for 20 years!! 3. On busy days, he has/can do ~30 clients!!! If you show him a picture, he'll know how to mimic it. He'll ask for what you want AND even better, he'll listen! I got 8 inches cut off and he took on this intense transformation layer by layer. Alex the owner is hilarious and super nice! But I got a wavy perm and I showed him a picture of it and he said he could give me big waves. When I left the salon my hair was still damp, but when I got home and my waves were dry they were almost non existent. I called Alex that Monday and he squeezed me 2 days later. He admitted that the curls did not come out and tried using a smaller roller and it is a lot wavier. But the waves are still uneven and it does not look that great. I waited for 45 minutes even though I made an appointment beforehand. I told them not to cut my top but they still trimmed it. When they rinsed the head, the water is cold and hot. I've coming here for over a year. I usually do the Japanese ionized straight perm. I have to say that he uses very good cream for the application that doesn't damage my hair. The time for the Japanese straight perm used to be 6 hours but he's able to use the latest application and shorten the whole process to just 2 hours. Great place to get your hair cut! My hair had gotten really long and brittle after the summer and I was in desperate need of a haircut. My hair's pretty easy to work with, but not many people can layer my hair the way I like it. Well, Alex is now one of them! He put in plenty of layers and somehow made it look like my hair had highlights in it (my hair is lighter on top than underneath naturally, so I guess he stripped random parts of the top layer so the bottom could show through? Don't ask me!) I was just browsing his website, saw an email address and since I was at work, I figured I'd shoot him an email to make an appointment. Made one via email without any problems! After being a long time customer of Alex, I am sorry to say that I was disappointed by the customer service today and won't be returning back. I had my haircut apt with Alex at 1:30 and was late and reached the salon at 1:38. I told the staff as I entered that I had an apt and was told to wait. At 1:52, I was told my one of the staff that Alex had left at 1:30 since I didn't show up right at 1:30 and he won't be returning until 4pm. This was the same staff that told me to wait when I walked in. I was shocked at this treatment. I wouldn't have had a problem if they had told me right away when I walked in but they told me this after making me wait there all this while. This is not a right way to treat a customer. read more

I would give 0 star if I could for this place. I went this place for 2 years. I went this place at 1:50pm and out 2:20. The owner told me that my stylist was not there and I asked any one available at 2:00pm on the phone. When I arrived at the shop, other walk- in guests were served even though they came later than me. Once we raise my voice he said just sit and wait, and no one care about me until that point. The reason I made an appointment is I am driving 2 hours to get a hair cut and I explained it on the phone. I don't think owner and staff are care about customers' time. Came here to get both a men's and women's haircut, and was very pleased. I didn't actually expect too high quality here in Raleigh, but Alex was very professional and gave us nice, New York style service within minutes. My girlfriend's hair was quite damaged from a bad experience at a different salon, but he was able not only to provide advice about how to treat and repair her hair, but also did the first steps of the treatment for her, which has actually been really effective. Glad he didn't try to upsell us. You'll pay about 20$ for a man's haircut, and 30$ for a woman's haircut + tips. One of the best things about Alex is that it wasn't just good, it was fast. Like, lightning fast. I think he did a man's cut in just about 15 minutes, and I'm actually happier with it than my old barber. I have lived in Cary for the past year and absolutely love this salon. Alex is very accommodating and takes me in on short notice. I always get exactly what I want when I visit Hitto salon. I get Japanese Straightening done and get my hair coloured there. I have terrible allergies to most hair products but he uses a organic colour on my hair and it's been really great for me. I recently brought my very picky teenage daughter to him as well and he did an amazing job with colouring her hair the shade she wanted without the use of bleach. This place is making people pay to become their newbie's hair models. They can't fix it when anything goes wrong. absolutely the worst haircut I have got in 10 years. Either they don't have the cosmetology license or they are really shitty or probably both. This was my first visit to this location, and for anyone who is looking for a haircut this place ain't the one you want to go. While I was looking for hair salon, I looked up yelp reviews and found this place. When I read the reviews I expected their employees to be pros at asian hairstyling. employee's name was ruthie cortez. She had no idea what she was doing, have no clue what asian hairs were like. She started by shaving 2/3 of my hairs, when all I asked of her was to trim and clean up. It was a freaking pain just getting a haircut from her, literally. I don't even know how it's possible. She was scratching my scalp and ears with her comb over and over and over. After the torture, she began pulling my hairs out with her scissors. I still don't get how a hairstylist doesn't even know how to use their basic tools. When she was "done" she tried to hide all her mistakes by applying hair gel on my hairs, even though I clearly mentioned it to her that I don't use those kind of products. she did it anyway, keep mentioning because my hair was so "straight and hard to control". I got home, I had to take a shower because they did not rinse out my hair and I was covered in my hairs. After all the products removed I found out the shape of my hair was unbalanced(one side shorter than other side, one side smooth, other side box like).There were spots where she made "straight cuts" and "empty holes" beyond repairs. Also I had a bang but she cut so much It just became few strands of hairs. back of my head there were spots where my hairs were spiking like fucking sonic the hedgehog that was unable to calm itself unless I put tons of gels and wax. and like said before I hate using those products in my hair. It was just complete fuck up overall. I tried going back next day, asked to fix the hair. However it was beyond repair at this point, Alex the owner tells me that he will try to fix the hair. Alex couldn't fix for shit. not even a greatest hairstylist would of been able to fix this mess. He mentioned that After about a month It will grow out then he will be able to fix it (It will take 3 months to go back to how it was), til then I need to walk around with dumbass looking fucked up hair. It completely pisses me off the way they handle their customers, They don't ask their customers how much length they wanna keep or anything no consultation what so ever. Save your money and go elsewhere! Able to get a same day appt for Saturday. No waiting once I got there. Wanted to get rid of my roots and blend into my blonde highlighted hair. The two girls were inexperienced and seemed to fumble through the bleaching process and figure it out as they went. The first toner they used was the wrong color so they had to do it again. The color came out platinum blonde, a bit too much for my liking. Every task was completed after Alex gave approval. Seemed to be because they didn't know what they were doing, but they also mentioned Alex runs the show in there. The woman took off my smock and told me I was all set to go, but forgot I needed a haircut, or maybe there was a miscommunication and she didn't understand I needed one. Alex cut my hair-dry cut because I was already dry. Not thrilled with the haircut. Asked for angled and layered. Was done very quickly because Alex had to stop with his client because they forgot I needed a cut. People were nice, accommodating, but seemed inexperienced. Lots of fumbling. Total cost was $95+tip but I had to go back because the blonde was way too yellow/platinum. They said they would fix it at no charge, but after adding lowlights, which turned out very stripy when my hair is pulled back, they charged me an additional $30+tip after Alex agreed there would be no charge! There was a young man who was going to cut my hair, even though I asked for an appointment with Alex. I just happened to ask the young man if he was a trainee.
