Review of General RV in Wayland, Michigan…read more We recently had the pleasure of working with General RV in Wayland, Michigan, and overall, it was a very positive experience. Here's a detailed breakdown of what stood out and a few areas where there's room for improvement. What Stood Out Wide Range of Options: General RV offers an impressive variety of choices, from their "Keep You Camping" program - considered an "industry differentiator" because it prioritizes your ability to use your RV during peak camping season and educates owners on what truly needs immediate attention versus what can wait - to various extended warranties. Their willingness to work with customers and tailor options to individual needs really sets them apart. Exceptional Team Members * Marcus (Salesperson Extraordinaire): Marcus was fantastic. He patiently answered all our questions and helped us secure a great price. His expertise and knowledge of the industry as a whole, honesty and friendly approach made the buying process smooth and enjoyable. We appreciated all of his tips and tricks while test driving and found his insight and attention to detail refreshing! * Justin (Financier and "Cliff Talker Offer"): Justin was incredibly patient with all our questions, especially when we raised concerns about General RV's service department Yelp rating. He walked us through the financing options clearly and helped us understand everything thoroughly. * Aaron (Parts Specialist): Aaron was straightforward and helpful, providing a clear list of must-have, nice-to-have, and cool items for our RV. His no-nonsense attitude was refreshing and very useful. I love that he did not try to sell us things we didn't need and answered lots of questions about water systems and electricity! * Jim (Walk-Through Expert): Jim gave us a thorough walk-through of the RV and explained all the features in detail, ensuring we felt confident with our purchase. * Andrew (Insurance Specialist): Andrew was amazing at finding the best insurance coverage and deductible combination within our budget. His expertise made a complicated process much easier. * Front Desk Team: The ladies at the front desk were attentive and helpful throughout. Even though they initially spelled our name incorrectly, they quickly fixed it and kept the atmosphere light with some friendly teasing. Areas for Improvement While the overall experience was great, the cleanliness and attention to detail inside the RV could use some work. There were small issues like the time wasn't set on the clock, dried chunky caulking around the outside lights and smeared on a window, and a receptacle so dusty that I initially thought its color was off. Improving these small details would elevate the customer experience significantly. Final Thoughts General RV in Wayland offers excellent customer service, knowledgeable staff, and a variety of helpful programs that make RV ownership easier and more enjoyable - especially for a first time buyer. With a bit more focus on the finishing touches and cleanliness, they would be absolutely top-notch. I highly recommend checking them out if you're in the market for an RV.

We informed him we were going to the Hershey RV show and since he was going to be there as well he was willing to to meet up with us while we were there. He came to the RV we were looking at, helped us with the purchase and at the price we were looking for! He even offered to follow up with us on his day off when picking up the RV. He was amazing, available and one of the best salesman we have worked with so far and this is our 4th RV! Thank you, Riley for being there for us and not pushing just for the sale. You are the kind of Salesman we look for when purchasing. -The Morton Family

We had a great experience the first time we showed interest and went to buy our camper. Salesman was good. Finance guy was good. Hence 2 stars. Even though you don't deserve that. After that this place just decided to be a fucking shit show. I was told to come back once a year and they would service our camper. Funny. I went in today and the service included "walking around and checking out tires" that's literally what I was told. Let's take a step back. It took me 3 months and 3+ phone calls to get our license plate from them. We were cancelled on the day we were supposed to pick up. I am now finding out none of the mentioned serving items initially talked about were provided or will be provided. I am beyond disappointed and it seems everyone else is. I will tell everyone I know interested in buying any rec vehicle to go to ANY other dealership. Shame on you guys.

Our salesperson Colin went out of his way to help us find exactly what we wanted, at the price we wanted and did everything possible to make sure our trade in process went well. The Sales Manager, Alex was also very accommodating and professional. There were a couple paper work hiccups but he made sure we were compensated fairly for our that. We also needed a quick, last minute repair done last summer when we were out west with our prior RV and found a Camping World that was more than helpful to us. Because of the timing, we had to do the repair ourselves but they made sure we had the correct part and were willing to wait for us to arrive just minutes before they closed. We highly recommend Camping World. Our experience has always been very good.

Looking at videos on Youtube I saw several videos by Josh the RV Nerd who is affiliated with Bish RV. One particular video was a model that highly interested in. (Great video by the way) A quick internet search found 3 campers within 300 mile that fit our need. One was Toledo, another near Detroit, and then one at Bish's in Coldwater. We setup a full day Saturday Road Trip to hit all 3 locations. Turns out the camper in Toledo didn't exist, so we called Bish's and verified they had the model we wanted and made an appointment to see it. We arrived one Saturday morning and were greeted by our salesperson. He took the time to thoroughly show us the one we were interested in. He seemed knowledgeable and gave us all the time we needed. After about 30 minutes we walked inside and talked numbers. For most of the pandemic years, 2020 to 2022 campers have sold at the high end of the scale. I was expecting to pay full MSRP on this 2022 model even though it was nearing the end of the model year. The price I was given, was about $2000 less that I was expecting and I considered it to be a reasonable offer. I made it clear we were real customers and going to buy, but I wanted to see the other model in Detroit. We left with a reasonable offer on paper. A few hours later we arrived in Detroit and the model there was a bit more and it was a slightly different model and the one at Bish was better for us. 2 days later I talked to our sales guy and said we wanted that unit. I put a deposit by phone on the credit card and he pretty much took care of all the details. I was paying cash, but needed a week to get the cash, but our sales guy made it happen. About 10 days later we took possession of the new camper at the agreed upon price. Delivery day went pretty good. Finance guy annoyed me a little. I asked for a 30 day or transit tag to get back home to Ohio and was told they couldn't provide one and I didn't need it. We were showed our new camper all setup and ready for inspection. At least 5 or 6 people were picking up campers much more high end than us, so I think we got the new guy who barely knew anything that we didn't about this model. We drove away happy with our new camper, and now 8 months later we are still happy with the purchase.

I just needed my deposit refunded and instead of informing how/when/WHERE my money would be refunded, I just get "your refund will be issued by company check". And then nothing after that. Which I did 10 times and received no answer from any department.
